yeah, that there's soup in there.

2002-04-03 01:01:10 PM
Is that before or after you water it down?

2002-04-03 01:01:23 PM
off to read the article...

2002-04-03 01:01:24 PM
Don't eat the clam chowder.

2002-04-03 01:01:56 PM
I like eating clams.

2002-04-03 01:03:19 PM
Ben and Jerry's claim thier Ice Cream is "all natural."

2002-04-03 01:03:36 PM
The label said it had 25% of vitamin C. Here I've been eating 4 jars a day. How it looks like I'll have to eat 20 jars to get my vitamin C. Damn.

2002-04-03 01:03:52 PM
Is there anything more reliable than grilled cheese and tomato soup?

Didn't think so.

2002-04-03 01:04:03 PM
I like the reply from Campbell's. "yea, the label is wrong"

No Sh#t.....that is way you are getting a letter from the FDA.

Man, if you can't trust Corporations.......who can you trust.....

2002-04-03 01:04:14 PM
i haven't been able to fully enjoy soup ever since i saw this bit on kids in the hall whereas dave foley jacks off into some soup and tricks kevin mcdonald into eatting it. i like that show though

2002-04-03 01:04:26 PM
I don't eat Prego for the vitamin C. I eat it cuz it tastes good on spaghetti.

2002-04-03 01:04:42 PM
In reference to the article: Who the hell expects to get their daily supply of Vitamin C from anything called "Three Cheese Pasta Sauce?"

2002-04-03 01:04:47 PM
As long as they are in season...

2002-04-03 01:05:19 PM
...as I eat my Campbells garden vegetable "soup to go"

Tastes like soup

2002-04-03 01:05:51 PM
Soup makes you preggers?

2002-04-03 01:06:18 PM
Big deal, the Girl Scouts lie about their cookies.

There ain't no Girl Scouts in 'em.

2002-04-03 01:06:28 PM
If you want vitamin C, eat an orange, not spaghetti sauce.

Especially Prego. That stuff is just vile (although not as bad as Ragu).

2002-04-03 01:07:02 PM
Don't be so quick to judge the poor corporation. We've all "padded" our resumes at one time or another. This is merely the same thing.

2002-04-03 01:07:35 PM
How did this get posted? So the FDA told them they had the wrong vitamin c amount on the label. This type of news belongs on newspapers, not fark.

2002-04-03 01:08:05 PM
The best part about manufactured food products is that there is an FDA allowance for % of stuff like Rat hair, rat feces, blood, and other "natural flavours" that get mixed in throughout the process. Id like to read up on what the allowances are for balogna.

2002-04-03 01:08:08 PM
HENCHMAN: EXACTLY!!. They should try mixing in an orange or those Flinstone vitamin's or something.

2002-04-03 01:08:46 PM
I guess it's not "in there".

(anybody else remeber the Prego commercials when it first came out?)

2002-04-03 01:09:17 PM
I knew that wasn't chicken in that nooble soup.

2002-04-03 01:09:47 PM
what they're not telling you is that the FDA found puree'd bits of the alphabet soup kids and chef boyardee's man chowder in it...

2002-04-03 01:09:54 PM
WTF, Who reads the lables on the back of the cans? Besides like MILES said eat an orange if you want your vitamin C.

2002-04-03 01:11:22 PM
So do fark headlines.

2002-04-03 01:11:34 PM
Maybe it's just me, but if you even know there's supposed to be Vitamin C in Prego Three Cheese Pasta Sauce, you have entirely too much time on your hands.

2002-04-03 01:11:41 PM
whop-tee-farkin-doo

2002-04-03 01:12:40 PM
So that's why I have scurvy...

2002-04-03 01:13:59 PM
Oh, and gotta love that Title Bar line that comes up in the window:

Reuters - Breaking News from Around the Globe

Wow, they really blew the lid off of this lava-hot story, didn't they? I wonder if Deep Throat was involved? "Follow the ingredients..."

2002-04-03 01:14:48 PM
I don't want Vitamin C in my tomato sauce, I want tomatoes in my tomato sauce. :-)

2002-04-03 01:15:16 PM
Are you sure this isn't a Cosmiverse story? Corporations are usually very truthful and reliable.

2002-04-03 01:15:34 PM
HOW OBVIOUS, WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW CHICKEN IN YOUR CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP?

2002-04-03 01:16:16 PM
Boy, the FDA must have nothing else more pressing to do if they're worried about vitamin C content in some soup. Sheesh.

2002-04-03 01:16:46 PM
...so...are they finally gonna call it "noodle soup w/ two chunks of chicken like matter"???

2002-04-03 01:17:02 PM
I agree with JAY, who cares if your soup has vitamin C? As long as it tastes like {Chicken} soup, who cares?

2002-04-03 01:17:15 PM
Dogbone - That is so obscure that I would bet most Farkers won't pick up on that one. Funny, though.

2002-04-03 01:17:48 PM
lobotyme: noobles?

2002-04-03 01:18:13 PM
Not many vitamins, but plenty of sodium, for sure.

2002-04-03 01:18:46 PM
Good_Beer - If my Prego tasted like Chicken Soup, I'd be worried. The article is about Spaghetti Sauce, for Christ's sake.

2002-04-03 01:19:12 PM
I have problems with too much ingredients. Just found an entire chicken in the chicken and noodle soup. Blimey!

2002-04-03 01:19:30 PM
Three Cheese Pasta Sauce is such a great flavor, it wouldn't care if it had only 4.47% of the daily allowance of Vitamin C. I tell ya, it is yummy.

2002-04-03 01:21:22 PM
Yeah, scurvy. Many sailors came down with it, due to the lack of vitamin c in their diet. "You scurvy dogs."

2002-04-03 01:21:48 PM
Tax dollar bonfire at the FDA.
In other news, new drugs to treat terminal diseases are held up b/c of lack of resources at FDA.
Labman: ... so you're smarter than most Farkers, IYHO?

2002-04-03 01:22:09 PM
Were they also lying when they said that it was made with love?

2002-04-03 01:22:22 PM
if you eat three cheese pasta sauce as your source for vitamin c, you have problems.

2002-04-03 01:22:43 PM
I should've known there was no chicken in Campbell's soup; PETA never protested in front of their corporate HQ.

2002-04-03 01:23:21 PM
made with the seeds of man love

2002-04-03 01:23:48 PM

2002-04-03 01:25:32 PM
Okay; my last post about scurvy.

"James Lind's observation that citrus fruits contained something that counteracted the ravages of scurvy was followed by his development of a method for the concentration and preservation of citrus fruit juices for use at sea. In 1795, the British Royal Navy provided a daily ration of lime or lemon juice to all its men. English sailors to this day are called "limeys", for lime was the term used at the time for both lemons and limes."
