there is a huge glaring obvious difference here.

Doctor gives medication to man ...within 3 months man starts to talk sensibly again

Can we give this medicine to the hardcore leftists, too?

cerebrum=jelly. Now cut it out, dammit.

LOL, there is no such thing as a "near vegitative state" but nice attempt to start a flame war.

/you are either a vegetable or you are not, he never was, in fact he showed improvement in motor skills immediately after the accident

acurus: cerebrum=jelly. Now cut it out, dammit.

Exactly... Schiavo had SEVERE deterioration in her brain. These are two totally different cases. Heard Limbaugh voicing his retarded opinion on this topic this morning. Get over it, fundies.

Bijou: does anyone know when are they going to release Terri's autopsy results?

I was just wondering that a few days ago. Considering she's dust now, they're obviously finished.

2005-05-05 01:44:24 PM
Did this need to be greenlit? 'Cause I see several other article in the queue which are much more interesting.

2005-05-05 01:44:30 PM
Oh, great, greenlight. I guess it pays to make up concepts ;)

/I'm a near admin, listen to what I say

2005-05-05 01:48:54 PM
Well, this is going to a good polite discussion when it goes green.

/worst greenlight ever.

The autopsy was completed on Friday 1st April. The medical examiner's office said at the time that the results of the autopsy may not be released for several weeks.

it will be five weeks tomorrow...

Yes, I'm sure this miracle drug would have formed synapses in the liquid goo that remained in her brain. Which rhymes with "insane in the membrane", which is now stuck in my brain.

Damn you, submitter!

This will be an excellent thread for Christian conservatives to illustrate their complete lack of medical knowledge.

This flamewar isn't coming along very well. Let's hear from somebody on the "this could have been Terri" side of the debate, so we may ridicule their deeply flawed comparison.

Wow, near persistent vegetative state. It reminds me of the time I was almost pregnant.

... yup, and like the time I almost banged Angelina Jolie. She was in CA and I was in TX but it was close.

Ah, the Republican way: take it at face value, ignore the underlying facts.

/Had to throw my gas can into the fire

I saw this on Fox news this morning. They were calling it a miracle. They also said that the kid that got rescued off of NC the other day was a miracle. Jesus must be busy.

They also made the comparison to Terri Schiavo and the doctor said it wasn't really the same. This guy wasn't as bad off as Terri.

It was more like the movie Awakenings.

how about anybody that voted Bush in '04?

Can the media go back to agenda setting that makes sense please?

Shut the fark up CNN.

2005-05-05 02:54:07 PM
You mean the people who wanted Schiavo to die could have been wrong?

Oh, we certainly can't have that.

Since when did siding with life become so taboo?

In 2003, an Arkansas man, Terry Wallis, returned to consciousness 19 years after he was injured in a car accident, stunning his mother by saying "Mom" and then asking for a Pepsi.

Suck on that one, Coca-Cola!

A Midnight Bout of Frenzied Concupiscence: You mean the people who wanted Schiavo to die could have been wrong?

No. Her brain was goo. Pay attention.

Since when did siding with life become so taboo?

The same folks flying the "culture of life" banner seem to support the war in Iraq and the death penalty. The folks that preach the sanctity of marriage wanted to put the US Congress between Michael and Terri Schaivo. It's not taboo, it's just blatantly hypocritical.

How do you feel about the death penalty? If the judiciary is so fallible, shouldn't we "side with life" and abolish capital punishment?

WTF is up with the greenlight? We've seen variations of this on TF since the guy asked for his wife. Does Fark light suddenly need some flame wars or something?

Since Terri's brain functioned at a level on par with Jell-o.

Sigh, forgot my bold tags...

2005-05-05 03:19:06 PM
I suppose the gag is that since this is guy was supposedly in a near vegetative state, this may stay permanently near greenlit. ;)

jarrett you do realize pinto will be unlikely to respond to your post. That was one of his patented stop in a thread make an unsubstantiated comment and then disappear never to return posts.

Then maybe they could change it to a 'plug' tag so that we can have a campaign to pull the plug?!

I don't know about that... but I am currently in favor of a "Fork" tag, as in "stick a fork in it, it's done."

Howard calls in to work and says, "Hey, boss I'm not coming to work today, I'm really sick. I've got headache, stomachache and my legs hurt. I can't come work."

The boss says, "You know Howard, I really need you today. When I feel like this I go to my wife and tell her give me sex. Makes everything better and I can go to work. You try."

Two hours later Howard calls again: "Hey Boss, I did what you say and I feel great. I'll be at work soon. Oh, you have a nice house."

Just wait until they can do this with dead people. Then we'll have a controversy.

He was not in a persistant vegative state, he was minimally conscience. Too totally differnt thing. Schivo was a tomato and this guy was just outta it.

2005-05-05 05:05:51 PM
Is being in a near persistent vegitative state anything like being a little bit pregnant?

kinda old, obviously, but relation to autopsy.

Terri Schiavo's remains cremated

mmmmm.....POPPY...
