Nicotine gum surrenders.

2005-05-04 06:59:39 PM
Suddenly, these products seem so quaint.

2005-05-04 07:02:49 PM
...if the makers think kids won't get their hands on this product...

What? Are you saying something Hugh Hefner and Larry Flint? I can't hear you. Speak up

"I think the most dangerous part of this message is by connecting marijuana or pot with candy. It makes it seem so safe. I mean, what could be more harmless than a lollypop?" questioned Scott.

A butterfly? A rainbow? A smile?

2005-05-04 07:29:33 PM
Yeesh .. some people will get pissed off about anything.

2005-05-04 08:05:18 PM
I just wish I'd had thought of it...

2005-05-04 09:11:26 PM
I wouldn't be surprised if this was invented with the sole intention of getting suburban panties in a twist.

2005-05-04 11:56:52 PM
I'm willing to bet that the people who don't see a problem with this don't have kids.

2005-05-05 02:00:43 AM
WTFTV strikes again.

I was at an Arlo Guthrie concert Sunday night and the men's room was reeking of Teh Bud. While I can distantly recall what it tasted like (I was a minor and Reagan was in the White House), I can't for the life of me imagine trying to make a candy flavor out of it.

2005-05-05 02:08:39 AM
while i think that pot should be de-criminalized, marketing this to children as this scumbag is clearly doing is reprehensible.

2005-05-05 02:09:22 AM
When you think about it, very few drugs have any positive 'flavor' associated with them.

2005-05-05 02:11:26 AM
The candy itself does not taste like pot, and is bad enough that I threw the ones I bought away. No one need fear that this will give a good representation of marijuana to the kiddies.

2005-05-05 02:12:13 AM
I do enjoy very much how they gloss over their interviewee's remark that they taste like crap. Really, I do. News with an agenda, right here: if the kids think it tastes like crap, we can't get our balloon knots all clenched over this. This way, we can completely lose faith in our children to not be completely retarded.

/i am sofa king we todd ed.

2005-05-05 02:14:23 AM
What do they do after sucking on these to kill the munchies? Eat fallen leaves?

2005-05-05 02:14:24 AM
"Critics of the product say it's one more way to make illegal drugs seem cool."

Well, that's outrageous. Illegal drugs don't seem cool. They ARE cool.

So true.

/not that I'd know...

2005-05-05 02:18:14 AM
"It's not good at all, it's sweet," said Florence Marr after tasting the candy. "It tastes like crap."

Make up your damn mind you flip-flopper!

2005-05-05 02:18:55 AM
I was actually watching the news last night when that aired. It was quite amusing. All news in Orlando has been reported, WFTV is now tackling the huge problem of pot flavored candy. I hate local news.

2005-05-05 02:19:45 AM
I want to make a candy that tastes like actual crap. When people say "That tastes like crap" I can say "Yes, actually that was the intention". I'll trademark and copyright it so that when someone says "That tastes like crap" and it doesn't actually taste like crap (or my candy), I will sue and win one billion dollars each time.

2005-05-05 02:23:49 AM
Here's the next candy idea: Candy in containers that look just like prescription drug bottles, right down to the laser-printed labels and 'child-safe' caps.

/Of course, to REALLY make them realistic, they'll cost $150 a bottle unless you have insurance.

2005-05-05 02:26:26 AM
Why would you want something that tastes like weed but doesn't get you High?

2005-05-05 02:27:19 AM
"Nickle"? spelling surrenders.

2005-05-05 02:27:32 AM
Nickle bags?

2005-05-05 02:28:40 AM
I support the legalization of marijuana. But this asshole should be strung up by his testes. Drugs are not candy, whether it is recreational or therapeutic. farktards like this set those of us who use drugs responsibly back 40 years.

2005-05-05 02:32:42 AM
Did that old biatch diss my state at the end?

I'm gonna go find her, cram a lollipop in her box, and shove her

2005-05-05 02:34:22 AM
Like the candy makes haven't been about hooking kids on drugs for years.

thats sugar

thats cocaine

2005-05-05 02:37:32 AM
"It doesn't surprise me it's manufactured in california..." lmao!

2005-05-05 02:37:36 AM
Take a bag of weed. I don't mean the candy-ass 5 gram bags you buy to get your jollies on in the comfort of your own home, I'm talking industry size "spread-the-love-to-as-many-people-as-you-can-before-the-cops-catch-you". Shopping bag size.
Fill that bag with Mary Jane.
The result is something that produces the most incredibly vile stench you can imagine. It really is enough to make you sick if you sit 8 feet downwind of it long enough. No kidding.

And that's the thing they want to make a candy-flavor out of? In the name of making money?

The US is just gone, man. It's a lost cause.

The best thing that can happen to the US right now is that the caldera under Yellowstone Park pops as soon as possible. It is going to end a WHOLE LOT OF pain.

2005-05-05 02:38:20 AM
i smoke a lot of pot, and its just not a flavor that would work with candy, it would be like making tobacco flavored candy

all the recipes for pot brownies et al are trying to cover up the taste of pot, not feature it

by the way, marijuana ginger snaps are fantastic

2005-05-05 02:38:26 AM
The closest intersection to my house is Nickle rd and High dr.

If you don't beleive me look up an address around 5600 Nickle rd Knoxville, TN on mapquest or something.

2005-05-05 02:38:42 AM
Well crap of course I screw up the images

2005-05-05 02:41:47 AM
I think as previous farkers and farkettes have already stated, it doesn't taste all that great and doesn't get you high.

2005-05-05 02:44:18 AM
basstovin: "It doesn't surprise me it's manufactured in california..." lmao!

seriously, what's the deal with her? not all of us in california are pot smoking hippies. in fact, i'd go so far as to say 99% of us aren't. damn trialer trash.

2005-05-05 02:44:36 AM
the woman at the end proves my with that the south could have one the war. then we could have our own damn country.

The website doesn't appear to be marketed towards children at all.

Do they actually sell this stuff in stores, or just online? If it actually gets sold in stores, I SERIOUSLY doubt that it'll be carried in anything other than specialty stores that kids shouldn't be in in the first place. I think they're making a huge deal out of nothing. This is no different than the other pro-marijuana garbage that gets sold in shiatty music stores and "alternative lifestyle" stores.

Yeah, I hear ya, thats why I said what I said in my post.

2005-05-05 02:47:40 AM
Nickel bags, hehe, that's cute.

/who buys a nickel bag??

2005-05-05 02:47:54 AM
GoodyearPimp Considering they have vomit flavored jelly beans, I'm sure there's a market for that...plus you can be a gazillionaire in the process. Everyone wins.

2005-05-05 02:50:16 AM
"It doesn't surprise me it's manufactured in california..." says the woman from Florida...farking hilarious.

"It makes it seem so safe. I mean, what could be more harmless than a lollypop?" - clearly scott has never seen any porn movies whith lollypops in them, or ever seen lollypops sold in adult book stores.

And I suppose depending on where it's sold it could be marketed to kids. But I get the feeling (and I may be wrong) that this is the type of thing that would be sold in head shops, adult book stores, counter culture type stores, etc. As a novelty to people who already smoke/have smoked pot. Can anyone say gag gift?

Get a sense of humor...sheesh.

2005-05-05 03:02:54 AM
I doubt that these things have any cannabis content in them at all. Even with 0% THC, it would be unpossible to get pot approved for food usage.

The arguement about the bad taste is moot. Smoking for the first time tastes like crap too, but kids continue to do it.

Easy_G:

I was about to rail on you for your made up statistic, then I saw that you qualified it with "hippies". Well done! But once you include all the pot smoking junior high, high school and college kids, blue collar and white collar workers, that 99% drops considerably.

I seriously hope that you don't think that only "hippies" illegaly smoke pot. Do you?

Or are you saying that of all pot smokers in california, only 1% of them are hippies? This almost makes more sense. Almost.

"I think the most dangerous part of this message is by connecting marijuana or pot with candy. It makes it seem so safe. I mean, what could be more harmless than a lollypop?" questioned Scott.

I know what's more harmless than lollypop's. Actual Marijuana.

In the thousands of years of recorded history there is not one death from cannabis. Run around with a lollypop in your mouth, fall, get impaled through the back of your neck with the lollypop stick. It happens.

2005-05-05 03:09:50 AM
Does it give you the munchies or make you crave tater tots? MMMMMMM, tater tots.

Why aren't they all pissy about Big League Chew or the various cigarette gums, complete with powder you can blow through to make it look like smoke? I thought tobacco wasn't supposed to be aimed at kids, legal or not.

Bah.

/I enjoy the flavor of the MJ, and the lovely tingle on the tongue, but I couldn't imagine it as a candy
//when are they gonna make crack gum? now THAT'S cool!

2005-05-05 03:17:43 AM
I don't see a problem with this. It doesn't contain marijuana, it's not used to smoke marijuana, and it's being taxed just like every other fine American product.

You might as well stop the manufacturing of pornography along with this, because kid's are bound to get their grubby little mittens on this.

... you all disgust me.

2005-05-05 03:19:15 AM
GODDAMMIT!!!

There goes another one of my brilliant marketing ideas.

I need to act on these things sooner.

My only question- do you cough like you are going to die after you take a lick? My idea incorporated the "barf coughs".

yeah, i wasn't really being serious. . .

still, that woman is stupid. i wouldn't say that pot smoking is any more prevalent in California than it is in other states. granted, i have no factual basis for this claim, so feel free to tear into it.

i've got a bud to smoke.

2005-05-05 03:23:23 AM

...would have been the more appropriate tag. especially since there are a shortage of them on the main page.

2005-05-05 03:24:14 AM
I'll file that product under "Useless Bullshiat" along with "non-alocholic beer" and "herbal cigarettes."
