I swear if Arrested Development is canceled, I'm never watching Fox again. It'll be torrent time for anything good on the network.

2005-05-01 09:00:08 AM
I saw that Joan of Arcadia show once - I thought it was fairly good. Not good enough for me to watch it again, but adequate.

Sorry, all you Point Pleasant fans

Yeah, both of you.

We'll see about that after the return of Family Guy tonight. :)

2005-05-01 09:27:17 AM
I'll be right there watching Family Guy but American Dad is a steaming pile of donkey crap.

2005-05-01 09:28:31 AM
YA know, I've never seen any of the shows on the "out" list, except Enterprise, and maybe half, if not less, on the "in" list, and I watch alot of TV.

And of the others, the only one on there worth it is Arrested Develepment.

SuperCMC: I swear if Arrested Development is canceled, I'm never watching Fox again

I was really surprised to see that on the TBD list. I thought that was given. Oh, well. I guess they have to make room for (generic reality tv show #6,042).

2005-05-01 09:47:49 AM
As long as Scrubs,Simpsons and Malcolm are still there I'm fine.
POINT PLEASENT. I knew this would fail just by seeing the "hype to episode" ratio.

2005-05-01 10:19:16 AM
Folks, everything is ok. "Joey" is safe!

2005-05-01 10:51:03 AM
I'm crossing my fingers for Carnivale.

2005-05-01 10:53:53 AM
I like that show Numb3rs for some reason. Glad to see they kept it.

2005-05-01 11:52:16 AM
I don't watch a single show on any of those lists. I really can't figure that out, though, because my TV is on 4 hours every night at least. Thank goodness for History/Discovery/FoodTV/etc.

2005-05-01 12:15:58 PM
i think Medical Investigations is a good show, mainly because the main character is a good actor and i want him to do well. It needs to be reworked.

Other than that, it's a good list (except for Joey... wtf.)

libertinette: I'm crossing my fingers for Carnivale.

You and me both. If HBO cancels it, what's the point of having HBO? So I can pay extra each month for the same pinhead executive decisions I can get on regular network TV?

And you know Jonesy can't stay dead!

2005-05-01 12:45:38 PM
Do we really need Law & Order and 3 spinoffs? Or CSI and 2 spinoffs? You know CSI: LA is coming too since they had that new episode the other week.

The only thing I make sure to catch every week off any of the lists is Lost. I didn't realize how little I watched network TV.

2005-05-01 12:47:05 PM
Enterprise and Everybody loves Raymond! Sweet!

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

If they also change

Joan of Arcadia
Judging Amy

from TBD to dead, it'll be like Christmas.

2005-05-01 12:49:03 PM
If you really want to support "Arrested Development," for real -- go out and buy the DVD of Season 1.

It was entirely due to DVD sales and the ratings on Cartoon Network that led to the revival of "Family Guy."

Do this quickly. I've read that Will Arnett (the magician Gob) has been considering other roles in light of the recent flap about cancelling AD.

Great link, my DVR is unaffected

There was a show on last year called Hawaii.. it was pretty good. thats all i have to say about that.
Charmed ..out? .. i thought that was a big hit?

2005-05-01 01:34:41 PM
whew. another season of 'alias'. yippee.

Hey now, the Mirror Universe episodes were really good. It showed what the show could have been, with some decent writing.

Except for Scott Bakula. He simply wasn't made for this show. Oh, and how did he forget how to kiss between Quantum Leap and now?

2005-05-01 08:19:58 PM
That link didn't exactly shed any new light.
NYPD Blue, has been over for a while now. Third Watch, has been annoncing their last episode for quite a while now, and JAG? I didn't know it was still on.

If they cancelled Joan of Chlamydia, I would shed narry a tear.

"Except for Scott Bakula. He simply wasn't made for this show. Oh, and how did he forget how to kiss between Quantum Leap and now?"

Oh hell no. I bet ya he had to kiss ALOT of ass for that part.

Please kill the American Office. And replace it with the Gervais version.

Thank you.

MikeXpop: Please kill the American Office. And replace it with the Gervais version.

Seriously.

Here's personal, yet I believe, not uncommon, story about Point Pleasant/The Office (U.S.)

Point Pleasant: I really... REALLY wanted to like this show. It was shown to be a cross between The Omen & The O.C. which are two things I love.

but the show was such a disappointment. It was boring and vapid. There was nothing good about it. I watched six episodes and I wish to god I had knew how bad it was, I'd spent my time doing something useful, such as staring at a blank wall. It was boring. So farking boring. And I tried! After show one: hmmm, well it could have potential
After show two: I'll give it a try
After show three: I'll give it ANOTHER try

up to the end of show six (which I did not finish) when I said: well fark IT.

They messed up something that could have easily been a great tv show (they messed up EVERYTHING about it) I wanted so much to like it (if I had applied my natural level of tolerance to tv shows to that one, i would have stopped watching it after half of the first show)

and the US office...

I *loved* the original Office. I had been following since the first season, when one of my mate was sending me copies of the original episodes...

I loved and loved both seasons and the christmas specials... I felt for david brent when he got layed off, I laughed at and with Garret, I cried at the end of the christmas specials, I love it so dearly...

I *tried* to give the american version a chance. I watched.. 10 minutes of the first episode... it was too painful, I had to stop, I was shaking with anger and felt like puking

I watched 5 minutes of the second show and promptly left to vomit. There's nothing good about it. They completly ruined a great show...

unlike Point Pleasant, though, I KNEW that The Office would not be good. There were so many things which were entwined with british culture/humour for an american version to work

David Brent was a simpleton who wanted to be loved, not a complete jerk ass

It was funny because of it's awkwardness and likeness to real life, not because of cheap wacky gags

2005-05-01 09:43:10 PM
The only show on any of these lists that I've ever watched is Will and Grace. Glad to see its 'in'.

I guess Myth Busters and Modern Marvels and still safe.

2005-05-01 11:42:57 PM
I'm starting to get into the American The Office... ive only seen the first 4 episodes, but it seems to be able to stand as separate from the british version (which was brilliant). I hope they give it another season, at least.

2005-05-02 01:12:18 AM
Everyone see the opening of the new Family Guy tonight, where Peter rattles off every single crappy show that FOX has aired and cancelled since Family Guy was cancelled? I thought it was hilarious.

Lois: Is there anything we can do?
Peter: I suppose if every one of those shows goes off the air, we might have a shot.

2005-05-02 01:14:12 AM
The thing I like about the American version of The Office is that all of those things which were entwined with british culture/humour were dropped. Plus they speak real words on the American version.

2005-05-02 01:16:23 AM
I am so happy there will be no more arrested development. That show is a pile of crap. American Dad blows as well.

2005-05-02 01:16:38 AM
They do not give mention to The Contender, which is the greatest show in the history of television. That saddens me. I want a second season.

2005-05-02 01:17:10 AM
Tonight's episode of American Dad was much better than the one they showed after super bowl.

2005-05-02 01:22:19 AM
I love House. I'm glad to see it is safe for now. Dr. House is everything I strive to be except from an IT standpoint.

True. But much better than a steaming pile of dog crap is only a steaming pile of dog crap, slightly chilled.

Wake me up when a network picks up Firefly again. Then I'll start watching TV.

Will there ever be a new season of Aqua Teen Hunger Force?

I think I laughed during the entire intro after that bit. A big, "Eat if, FOX!" from Family Guy.

2005-05-02 01:27:15 AM
I love Third Watch, sorry to see it ending.

As long as the West Wing and The First 48 are going I'm a happy camper.

2005-05-02 01:28:59 AM
That additional task bar that follows you all around is really a pain. Fox has really been screwing the pooch lately but I'm glad Family Guy is back. I guess after cancelling The Tick, then Futurama, then Family Guy someone finally said "why are we keeping the crap and getting rid of the good stuff"?

2005-05-02 01:29:03 AM
Arrested Development... is... AWESOME.

I agree. American Dad might end up a contender after all. My guess is that Fox is going to pick the McFarlane show with the best numbers after a few weeks, so it's probably a goner since Family Guy is back and (at least from tonight's episode) seems pretty strong.

Third Watch at one time was probably the best show on television (1999-2001). The character development on it was just great. It's time for it to be done, though.

As long as I get another season of 24 and no one touches The Shield then I'm happy.

2005-05-02 01:30:13 AM
I don't see the point of American Dad. It's just Family Guy, but with lamer jokes, terrible characters, and poorer animation. Why is it on the air?

Welcome to cancellation! Stop by the cooch tent on your way out...

2005-05-02 01:31:40 AM
The office (U.S.) can't last because of Steve Carrel and the "curse of leaving the Daily Show and moving to the West Coast." (see also: Craig Kilborn)

2005-05-02 01:31:50 AM
Oh, and I'm glad to see Family Guy is back with a vengeance. The intro Doc Daneeka mentioned was brilliant.

2005-05-02 01:32:50 AM
What about Life On A Stick? I'm kinda liking that stupid show.

You'll pay for the privelege of it, and like it!

Everyone can calm down and go about their business... my shows (Desperate Housewives, House, and Law & Order: SVU-this is the only one of the L&W ones I watch) are safe.

/knows no one really cares

2005-05-02 01:34:09 AM
I don't know any of those shows. I've even given up on cable news. TV sucks. Last show I watched was Farscape.

2005-05-02 01:34:12 AM
yea, arrested development is f'ing great.
