I can't help but laugh when I see people driving SUV's just so they buy groceries. How many people driving them actually use it for camping, going off-road, etc?

If you need a vehicle for family use, get a mini-van.

That's what I think when I see these morons driving the Lexus and Mercedes SUVs- who the fark is going to take a $150,000 car off road? Plus, the drivers of those cars always drive like dipshiates, proving their stupidity.

IMO, if you are not using an SUV for its intended use, then you get no sympathy from me when it costs $50 to fill your tank.

2005-04-26 01:24:49 PM
I posted this a few weeks ago, but I recently pulled into a gas station and witnessed this complete assclown filling his Hummer. I drive a Mini and I managed to fill my tank, pay, take off, and saw him still pumping in my rearview as I drove away.

Good riddance, dumbass.

SUV drivers will be the first against the wall when the Revolution comes.

Misleading headline, and this loophole is old news.

The whole point of the article is that it's essentially costing YOU and ME, not the drivers, to fill their tanks. Screw that.

sweet..
Avalanche 1500 7,000 lbs :)

just gotta find a way to use it soley for work now.
I can afford the gas and i use it for offroading/camping/carrying my 3 big ass dogs/pulling my 4 wheeler and smashing idiotic whiny-ass, crybaby hippies right in their envious mouths.

2005-04-26 02:05:12 PM
I tow my Grand Cherokee behind my Suburban. Everywhere.

That's what you get when you have a bunch of yahoo Oil Men running your country I guess.

I think the whole point of the article was showing that certain trucks and SUVs get tax breaks when used 100% for business.

I'm guessing mostly farmers and the like, and of course company vehicles used to impress clients.

What makes me laugh is all you judgemental people. Seriously. I own a SUV that my wife drives because we live on a farm. We tow horse-trailers and kids around. But heaven forbid we use it to drive to the mall for fear of being judged by some egomaniacal pricks like you all. Bet you never even ask about the fact that we also own a hybrid do ye?

2005-04-26 02:06:45 PM
Fark this shiat. These assclowns driving big-ass SUVs should have to pay for their own gas. If you have to pay 50 bucks to fill your tank 3 times a week because you drive a Hummer, it's your own damn fault for buying a 4-mile-per-gallon tank. The government shouldn't pay for any of it.

I'm not a prick.

Damn, I knew I should upgrade Yukon. Now the thing about taking those silly work stickers off of the darn thing.

Who knew I could buy a Porsche Cayenne and write it off?

Cripes, I'm not even writing off 50% of my current vehicle for work-related expenses. (and they're legitimate)

BTW, it costs me $50 to fill the tank, but I'll never complain, I can afford it.

2005-04-26 02:07:34 PM
But if you use a vehicle 100% for business and purchase it, new or used, from a select list of big-time gas-guzzlers, Uncle Sam is ready to help you out.

And I'm sure the IRS is going to give this portion of the tax code the same strict enforcement they give all their loopholes.

/I used to get defensive when people asked me, "Why do you hate America?" Now I wonder...

2005-04-26 02:07:46 PM
Hey, fark you guys. I'm going to the Hummer dealer tonight. Now I can compensate for my small penis on your dime.

Hahahahah suckers!

2005-04-26 02:08:10 PM
I got me a 4X4 ESSUVEE and i kin drive real fast like on that there ice and snow. i am indestuctable, kin somebody pull me out of the ditch now? i dropped my cell phone

2005-04-26 02:08:30 PM
What would constitute justice would be if cities would enforce the same restrictions on these "commercial" vehicles that they enforce for actual commercial trucks. For example, you are not supoosed to drive heavy trucks down many residential streets. Can you imagine if these laws were actually enforced (as they are written) to include SUVs and Hummers?

Of course a small to mid size pickup will do all that and use 1/4 less gas. You can even get the ones with the back seats now too.

More accurately, you can try to compensate for your small penis on our dime.

Aren't we missing the point? Uncle Sam is not picking up the tab for this but, is not allowed to take as much from the owner.

Congress has us all saying, "this is causing taxpayers blah, blah, blah" when instead we sould be saying, "Congress was not allowed to take this amount from us..".

If you argue that the rest of the taxpayers have to make up for these breaks than you are missing the point and I refer you to read the preceeding sentance.

Hooray for fascism!

2005-04-26 02:10:41 PM
Gray_Calx:
No one ever said that your vehicle couldn't be used for more than one purpose. By that logic though, you shouldn't be eligible for this break, because you use your SUV partly for leisure purposes(driving to the mall).

What most of the SUV bashers are talking about are people who have no need for them other than bling-status. A girl I know, about to get married, no kids(22 years old, like me), who I think is one of the coolest people I know has a Chevy Monstrosity, I can't recall the name of it. Bigger than a Blazer, I think. Granted it's nice as fark inside, but she has no need for a vehicle of such massive size, only perhaps to go out with her girl friends

2005-04-26 02:10:43 PM
RTFA, this only applies to SUVs used 100% for business. These types of tax breaks exist everywhere and are very helpfull to small business.

So, do you use the SUV to tow the kids in the horsetrailer to the mall, or the hybrid?

2005-04-26 02:10:59 PM
i like the very bottom:
Tax savings for guzzler buyers reduce government revenue, increase the federal deficit, increase our trade deficit, and send yet more money to the Middle East. If we were going to devise a formula for wrecking the country, it would be difficult to improve on this one. We might as well call this portion of the American Jobs Creation Act of 2004 the Osama Bin Laden Support Fund.

We are not looking at you funny, we are complaining about the Yuppies who have no children, no cargo, and drive the beast, because it is the cool thing to do

//still pays $50 to fill it.

SUV drivers will be the first against the wall when the Revolution comes.

It will be funny to see the 60% of overweight/sedentary 'Mericans running for their lives when the revolution comes.

//cough, wheeze, my legs feel like jello after running 100 yards... gunshot

DrZombie

You've obviously never towed anything substantial like loaded horse trailers. They are much easier to tow with a larger truck or SUV. Starting, braking, corning, etc...all easier with a larger vehicle. No comparison.

2005-04-26 02:12:46 PM
Poster why do you hate America so much?

2005-04-26 02:13:03 PM
People and their SUV phobias crack me up.

Trucks, vans, minivans - all good. SUVs - satan!

2005-04-26 02:13:12 PM
The "asinine" submitter and everyone who posts without reading the article are clueless @sshats.

The restrictions on this loophole aren't going to allow soccer mom to get free gas because she drives the kids around and pick up groceries. The restrictions pretty much limit the tax breaks to those who beat their vehicles into the ground with their work/business.

Not that there aren't those who will unethically exploit these policies ...

I had a friend who drove around for 6 years with a novelty alaska license plate. He had been pulled over several times and told to register his car in utah. Finally a highway patrol man, born in alaska, pulled him over, this did not go so well for my friend. Many thousands of dollars later, he registered his car in utah.

When you use it 100% for business use. The article is trolling, as well is the asshat submitter.

I still laugh at anyone having to spend $50-$70 to fill their tank just to commute. You're a bunch of suckers. I spend $50 a month on gas at the most and drive a comfortable accord that gets 30+ mpg.

SUV drivers: All your discretionary income are belong to Exxon-Mobil. Eat it.

Americans just want cars that look like them.

Big and ugly.

2005-04-26 02:14:56 PM
That's is the most confused article I've read in a while. Yes, personal income spent to run a business is deductible from your income tax. It's the same as if you just paid yourself less out of the business. So, what's the big deal?
