now guys, think of that.... 1/2 mile covered in 15 seconds. Top Fuel dragsters cover a 1/4 mile in 4 seconds..... times both by 2 (I know you can't figure on a dragster being able to continue that far, but) hence... 1/2 in 8 seconds.... those cars are guessed to have over 1200 hp.....

my opinion.... that new Viper is bad ass!

By far the best/coolest car, plane drag off is to be found on the 'Let There Be Rock' concert video, which is backed with the classic track 'Walk All Over You'. It also features Bon Scott walking on water. (OK, OK, it was a frozen lake, but it still counts!).

This is right near where I live. There was a huge traffic jam of retards to see this thing. I think people were there 5 hours in advance and the whole thing was 1 minute.
Anyway, if the Viper started to win, the F-16 could fire it's heat-seeking missiles.

A top fuel dragster can cover the 1/4 mile right about 4.5 seconds now. At over 320 mph at the end. 0-100 in less than 1 second, and the engine goes from a idle to full rpm in .2 seconds. Estimates range from 6-7000 HP since dyno's can't measure that much brute HP. Weight is around 1800 lbs.

And what they did was done before 25 years ago with Big Daddy Don Garlits racing an A6 Intruder, I believe. On an aircraft carrier no less.

Not exactly. At the start of the 1/4 the dragster is at 0 mph. At the end it's at 300+. So for the second 1/4, it could maintain 300 mph and finish the 1/2 in under 7 seconds total.

The Viper is a great looking car and powerful, but not in the top of its class when it comes to speed.

Yes, I'd still like to own one.
