Action Replay Nick: "I masturbate to the words of Ann Coulter."

Heaven's No! That would make Jeebus cry.

Hilarious video of Coulter talking out of her ass and claiming Canada sent troops to Vietnam. Journalist (obviously one of those darn liberals)calls her on it.

CBC (pops)

Usually talking out of her ass works so well for her...

It's not just the Adam's apple... have you heard her voice. My voice isn't that deep.

On Liberals

* Conservatives believe man was created in God's image, while liberals believe they are gods. All of the behavioral tics of the liberals proceed from their godless belief that they can murder the unborn because they, the liberals, are themselves gods. They try to forcibly create 'equality' through affirmative action and wealth redistribution because they are gods. They flat-out lie, with no higher power to constrain them, because they are gods. They adore pornography and the mechanization of sex because man is just an animal, and they are gods. They revere the UN and not the U.S. because they aren't Americans -- they are gods.

* Liberals refuse to condemn what societies have condemned for thousands of years - e.g., promiscuity, divorce, illegitimacy, homosexuality.

On liberals vs. Islamic terrorists:

* "Liberals hate America, they hate flag-wavers, they hate abortion opponents, they hate all religions except Islam, post 9/11. Even Islamic terrorists don't hate America like liberals do. They don't have the energy. If they had that much energy, they'd have indoor plumbing by now." - Talking Ann Coulter doll, Conservative Book Service [1] (http://www.conservativebookservice.com/BookPage.asp?prod_cd=C6230&sour_cd=ANB 000101) (from Slander, pp. 5-6; published June 2002)

On the deterrence of the death penalty, liberals and John Walker Lindh:

* "When contemplating college liberals, you really regret once again that John Walker is not getting the death penalty. We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too. Otherwise, they will turn out to be outright traitors." - at the Conservative Political Action Conference (http://www.truthout.org/docs_04/031104A.shtml) 26 February, 2002

[edit]

On Muslims and Islam

On certain Muslims, two days after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks:

* "We know who the homicidal maniacs are. They are the ones cheering and dancing right now. We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war." - from her syndicated column (http://www.nationalreview.com/coulter/coulter091301.shtml), 13 September, 2001

On her prescriptions for dealing with those aforementioned Muslims:

* "Point one and point two by the end of the week had become official government policy. As for converting them to Christianity, I think it might be a good idea to get them on some sort of hobby other than slaughtering infidels. I mean perhaps that's the Peace Corps, perhaps it's working for Planned Parenthood, but I've never seen the transforming effect of anything like that Christianity." - from an interview with Katie Couric (http://www.drudgereportarchives.com/data/2002/06/27/20020627_075636_flash.htm ), 26 June, 2002

On the values of Christianity vs. the values of Islam:

* "Being nice to people is, in fact, one of the incidental tenets of Christianity (as opposed to other religions whose tenets are more along the lines of 'kill everyone who doesn't smell bad and doesn't answer to the name Mohammed')". - from her column (at townhall.com) (http://www.townhall.com/columnists/anncoulter/ac20040304.shtml), 4 March, 2004

On Christmas:

* "To The People Of Islam: Just think: If we'd invaded your countries, killed your leaders and converted you to Christianity YOU'D ALL BE OPENING CHRISTMAS PRESENTS RIGHT ABOUT NOW! Merry Christmas." - http://www.anncoulter.com/ (since removed) December 22 - 29, 2004.

[edit]

On the War on Terror

On the Abu Ghraib prison scandal and women in the military:

* "I think the other point that no one is making about the abuse photos is just the disproportionate number of women involved, including a girl general running the entire operation. I mean, this is lesson, you know, number 1,000,047 on why women shouldn't be in the military. In addition to not being able to carry even a medium-sized backpack, women are too vicious." - from Hannity & Colmes, 5 May, 2004

On the War on Terror versus the Cold War:

* "When we were fighting communism, OK, they had mass murderers and gulags, but they were white men and they were sane. Now we're up against absolutely insane savages." - [2] (http://news.independent.co.uk/low_res/story.jsp?story=551959&host=3&dir=81), 16 August, 2004

[edit]

On the media

* "The only standard journalists respect is: Will this story promote the left-wing agenda?" How to Talk to a Liberal, 2004.

* "Would that it were so! ... That the American military were targeting journalists." Kudlow & Cramer, CNBC, February 7, 2005

* "Press passes can't be that hard to come by if the White House allows that old Arab Helen Thomas to sit within yards of the president" (Version of her February 23, 2005 article, "REPUBLICANS, BLOGGERS AND GAYS, OH MY!" at her website (http://www.anncoulter.com/cgi-local/printer_friendly.cgi?article=43). Universal Press Syndicate edited (http://www.humaneventsonline.com/article.php?id=6680) this line for distribution, changing the phrase "that old Arab Helen Thomas" to "that dyspeptic, old Helen Thomas."

On New York and the New York Times

On the 9/11 attack on New York:

* "If Chicago had been hit, I assure you New Yorkers would not have cared. What was stunning when New York was hit was how the rest of America rushed to New York's defense. New Yorkers would have been like, 'It's tough for them; now let's go back to our Calvin Klein fashion shows.'" - [3] (http://www.guardian.co.uk/weekend/story/0,3605,956452,00.html), 17 May, 2003

On the New York Times and the Oklahoma Bomber:

* "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building." - in a New York Observer interview (http://www.findarticles.com/cf_dls/m0ICQ/2002_August_26/94386624/p6/article.j html), 26 August, 2002

On the previous quote:

* "Of course I regret it. I should have added 'after everyone had left the building except the editors and the reporters.'" - in a rightwingnews.com interview (http://rightwingnews.com/interviews/anncoulter.php), 26 June, 2003

On the publisher of the New York Times, Arthur O. Sulzberger, Jr.:

* "[Learning difficulties are a cover for] rich parents with dumb kids...That's why 'Pinch' Sulzberger, the publisher of The New York Times, is alleged to have dyslexia - because he's retarded" - The Independent (http://news.independent.co.uk/low_res/story.jsp?story=551959&host=3&dir=81), 16 August, 2004

* "The Times was rushing to assure its readers that 'prominent Islamic scholars and theologians in the West say unequivocally that nothing in Islam countenances the Sept. 11 actions.' (That's if you set aside Muhammad's many specific instructions to kill nonbelievers whenever possible)" - How to Talk to a Liberal, 2004.

[edit]

On women

* "Women like Pamela Harriman and Patricia Duff are basically Anna Nicole Smith from the waist down. Let's just call it for what it is. They're whores." - Salon.com November 16, 2000

* "I think [women] should be armed but should not vote...women have no capacity to understand how money is earned. They have a lot of ideas on how to spend it...it's always more money on education, more money on child care, more money on day care." - Politically Incorrect, February 26, 2001.

* "It would be a much better country if women did not vote. That is simply a fact. In fact, in every presidential election since 1950 - except Goldwater in '64 - the Republican would have won, if only the men had voted." - [4] (http://www.guardian.co.uk/weekend/story/0,3605,956452,00.html) May 17, 2003.

* "Like the Democrats, Playboy just wants to liberate women to behave like pigs, have sex without consequences, prance about naked, and abort children." - How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must), 2004

[edit]

On the law

* "I have to say I'm all for public flogging. One type of criminal that a public humiliation might work particularly well with are the juvenile delinquents, a lot of whom consider it a badge of honor to be sent to juvenile detention. And it might not be such a cool thing in the 'hood to be flogged publicly." - MSNBC March 22, 1997

* "I think we had enough laws about the turn-of-the-century. We don't need any more." Asked how far back would she go to repeal laws, she replied, "Well, before the New Deal...[The Emancipation Proclamation] would be a good start." - Politically Incorrect May 7, 1997June 20, 2001.

On education spending vs. defense spending:

On the first Gulf War:

* "I was not enthusiastic about the last Gulf war. Of course, it goes without saying, I rooted for our team once the shooting started. But I wasn't for that war. I was also against sending Americans to the Balkans. My point is, I'm genuinely against America deploying troops without a really, really good reason. I just can't imagine anyone not seeing 9/11 as a really good reason for wiping out Islamic totalitarians." - [5] (http://www.guardian.co.uk/weekend/story/0,3605,956452,00.html), 17 May, 2003

On Social Security:

On Episcopalians:

* "The Episcopals (sic) don't demand much in the way of actual religious belief. They have girl priests, gay priests, gay bishops, gay marriages -- it's much like The New York Times editorial board. They acknowledge the Ten Commandments -- or "Moses' talking points" -- but hasten to add that they're not exactly "carved in stone." - from column "The Jesus Thing" (http://www.anncoulter.org/columns/2004/010704e.htm) January 7, 2004

On expatriate Pakistanis:

* "They're never very high in anyone's caste system, are they? Poor little Pakis." - [6] (http://news.independent.co.uk/low_res/story.jsp?story=551959&host=3&dir=81), 16 August, 2004

On the 2004 Democratic Convention:

* Here at the Spawn of Satan convention in Boston, conservatives are deploying a series of covert signals to identify one another, much like gay men do. My allies are the ones wearing crosses or American flags. The people sporting shirts emblazened with the "F-word" are my opponents. Also, as always, the pretty girls and cops are on my side, most of them barely able to conceal their eye-rolling. - opening paragraph of a column that USA Today dropped after an "editing dispute" [7] (http://www.humaneventsonline.com/article.php?print=yes&id=4610), 26 July, 2004

On Dan Rather:

* "What are the odds that Dan Rather would have accepted such patently phony documents from, say, the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth?" from "C-BS" (http://www.townhall.com/columnists/anncoulter/ac20040916.shtml) TownHall.com, 16 September, 2004

On a pie throwing incident against her in October, 2004

* "A couple [of] alleged males attempted to sucker punch a 100-pound woman and missed. And they ended up with their faces smashed in and spending the night in the w:Pima County Jail, where I'm sure -- being good liberals -- their views on gay marriage will serve them well." from w:The Sean Hannity Show, October 22, 2004.

It absolutely bugs the heck out of me that a guy in front of 20,00 cheering supporters after placing 3rd in a presidential primary is suddenly labeled crazy because he actually gets excited. Perish the thought that we actually have politicians who are real humans!

Howard Dean was the most sane man who ever ran for president. Listen to yourselves -- and you wonder why America is so farked up?

Ann Coulter once referred to Bill Clinton as a "horny hick" and Hillary as "pond scum". How much more mature is that than playground name-calling?

Horny hick or not, he balanced the budget.

/Grow up.

2005-04-17 09:04:13 PM
Aias: I think it is scary that America allows the extremes of it's political debates define the content.

I disagree. I think its the media that has a tendency to give the extremists a platform and that's mistaken as average Americans allowing them to define the debate.

Shut........UP,

I see where you are coming from, unfortunately the media is looking to the population for what it desires in media coverage and since most people think that day-to-day news is pretty dull they feel the need to spice it up with crappy special interest stories and crap like Coulter.

Not sure who gets the bulk of the blame in this one.

If Chicago had been hit, I assure you New Yorkers would not have cared. What was stunning when New York was hit was how the rest of America rushed to New York's defense. New Yorkers would have been like, 'It's tough for them; now let's go back to our Calvin Klein fashion shows.'"

goddam she's just about spot on with that one.

Proof:

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/11/04/nyregion/04york.html?ei=5090&en=4320fe069a36 fa08&ex=1257224400&partner=rssuserland&pagewanted=all

Striking a characteristic New York pose near Lincoln Center yesterday, Beverly Camhe clutched three morning newspapers to her chest while balancing a large latte and talked about how disconsolate she was to realize that not only had her candidate, John Kerry, lost but that she and her city were so out of step with the rest of the country.

"New Yorkers are more sophisticated and at a level of consciousness where we realize we have to think of globalization, of one mankind, that what's going to injure masses of people is not good for us," he said.

"They're very 1950's," she said of Midwesterners. "When I go back there, I feel I'm in a time warp."

"Everybody seems to hate us these days," said Zito Joseph, a 63-year-old retired psychiatrist. "None of the people who are likely to be hit by a terrorist attack voted for Bush. But the heartland people seemed to be saying, 'We're not affected by it if there would be another terrorist attack.' "

.

Again - Ann Coulter is just about, as correct as you can get.

Period.

2005-04-17 09:13:04 PM
I'm fairly convinced conservatives can't address the subjects of Bush & Admin, Coulter, Limbaugh, Iraq war, etc, without beginning their response with "Yeah, but what about . . . "

In case anyone's keeping score: I'm a liberal and I hate Ann Coulter. Also, I didn't RTFA (or even the thread)

However, the reference to Ted Rall and Pat Tillman eluded me. Guess I was taking a break from political flamewars that month. Anyway, for others who didn't get it & might find it interesting:

the controversial cartoon in question

Sorry if this is a threadjack but this thread's on its way to sideways-8-land anyway...

Ok. You've got Ann Coulter and Dan Savage on one side - Michael Moore and Al Franken on the other.

Pure hate vs. goofy intellectual superiority. Pick one.

2005-04-17 09:15:09 PM
guinnessdrinker:

"It IS a slur, because you people have made it one, and Al Franken is an idiot not to realize that by calling himself one he's just setting himself up for ridicule and defeating his cause"

Then you're letting them win (if you want to see it as an "us and them" situation). You can't let someone take a word that otherwise suits yourself, and that is generally a good word get taken away from you cause some people think that it's a slur. I'm proud to say that I'm a liberal because it shows where your values lay. Don't take a word that used to be a perfectly good word and not use it because some people perverted it.

Aias: unfortunately the media is looking to the population for what it desires in media coverage

I wish that were true, but I can't agree with you. I think the media has no idea what the average american cares about.

Look at ratings for cable news, it only takes a few million to be considered good ratings. At any given time you can put on a test pattern and get a half share (well unless that test pattern has Phil Donahoes face on it...)Put on a few extremists and you can get good ratings, but good ratings are a few million out of 300 million people.

Aias

"unfortunately the media is looking to the population for what it desires in media coverage and since most people think that day-to-day news is pretty dull they feel the need to spice it up with crappy special interest stories and crap like Coulter."

Well, I feel that all those polls screaming that the public's lost faith in the news media has to say something. If they'd simply STOP the partisan crap and the making news up, they'd be a lot better off, and if it's 'boring', so be it.

the gospel of thomas

reread: "everyone seems to hate us these days," said Zito Joseph, a 63-year-old retired psychiatrist. "None of the people who are likely to be hit by a terrorist attack voted for Bush. But the heartland people seemed to be saying, 'We're not affected by it if there would be another terrorist attack.' "

you quoted some new yorker who is whining how he thinks that the MIDWESTERNERS would not care if New york would be obilterated.

please gospel explain to me how this in any way backs up Coulter's claim that NEW YORKERS don't care about other americans fiery murders.

do you always interpret things to mean THE EXACT OPPOSTIE of what they say? because if you do that would definitely explain your defense of Coulter.

/types in ALL CAPS bcause you seem to have some trouble with geography

Prospero424: Certainly would be a good start.

if more republicans could be like John McCain, then the Republican party would actually have something to be proud of. Instead they slander him for not toeing the party line and Bush gets to run the country.
*shakes head*

SilentStriderSorry, birds of a feather and what not. Both are smeared with the "whacky liberal" brush just as Coulter and Savage have been tagged with "nazi conservative".

Moore and Rall, then, for argument's sake.

I'm not sure how anybody can defend Coulter's and Savage's comments. Couple that with how many people do, and I'm worried for this country.

After scanning the comments and posters in this thread, I no longer have doubts that people are paid to post on political threads.

Well, I'm just glad our President made it priority number one to catch that bastard and put him to death. I know I sleep better now.

Well now you're talking about the president. I was talking about Ann Coulter. I wasn't aware that she was responsible for the president's actions.
