Time Cover: "Ms. Right"

"Fair and balanced she isn't. This conservative flamethrower enrages the left and delights the right. Is she serious or just having fun?"

2005-04-17 05:01:29 PM
Next week they will legitimize Matthew Hale.

2005-04-17 05:02:10 PM
Damn. She looks like one of those alien grays from the X-files put on some Mary Kay and starved themselves.

2005-04-17 05:03:16 PM
"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity."
-Ann baby

As a congressional staff member 10 years ago, Coulter used to help write the nations laws.

That is the scariest thing I have ever read.

Thank Jeebus she ain't making them anymore.

2005-04-17 05:08:25 PM
What scares me most is the fact that some people actually listen to her. She's worse than Dr. Laura and Rush combined.

2005-04-17 05:08:44 PM
Looks like she's getting ready to pull a Sharon Stone to me.

Hey, she's a popular topic...well at least for the not so conservative types around FARK, anyway.

2005-04-17 05:09:31 PM
Anyone got a vid clip link for when Coulter asserted that Canada sent troops to Vietnam? heh heh

2005-04-17 05:09:42 PM
GaryPDX: She's simply an entertainer with a certain audience. It's a love/hate thing.

Yep.

And how is it I manage to go day after day without seeing all these extreme commentators that get everyone so bent out of shape?

Oh yeah. Grab remote - channel up or down.

"Fair and balanced she isn't. This conservative flamethrower enrages the left and delights the right. Is she serious or just having fun?"

I like to tell myself she isn't serious and is only having fun, playing to the audience. It helps keep me from waking up screaming in terror so often.

Must be a slow week in the news.

2005-04-17 05:14:39 PM
Slow week for real news...

or John Cloud just get a great big rubbery one when ever he sees bony knees.

2005-04-17 05:15:35 PM
You know, all the hatefulness towards her I see on FARK doesn't strike me as being so much better than her hatefulness towards Democrats and liberals.

It all looks to be the same level of behavior to me.

2005-04-17 05:15:39 PM
What scares me most is the fact that some people actually listen to her.

She's no better or worse than Ted Rall.

2005-04-17 05:17:26 PM
Anyone got a sammich they could give to Ann? Or is she on the screaching beotch diet? Stick legs are only attractive on stick figures.

2005-04-17 05:17:55 PM
GraphicAddiction: It all looks to be the same level of behavior to me.

No, the hatefulness against her is directed at actual things she herself has said or done. Not at an ill-defined group of people.

2005-04-17 05:19:15 PM
It's still hatefulness. It doesn't matter who it's directed at all that much to me.

Okay, except for this kind of crap. Attacking her appearance is rather juvenile and does, sort of, qualify as the same kind of hatefulness she spews.

Mr. Compassionate. Bwahahahaha!

GraphicAddiction:

Yes, it is still hatefulness. The difference is that it's directed at a particular person for a particular reason as opposed to being directed at a group of people that may or may not fit the description.

I mostly have a problem with her views, perspectives and opinions. The only real problems I have with her personally is her arrogance and closed mindedness.

2005-04-17 05:23:18 PM
'This kind of crap' makes up the bulk of what I see. In fact, a good deal of it is far worse than anything I've ever heard Coulter say.

Of course, I've only read a few quotes and articles...the bulk of which were submitted by non-conservatives on FARK.

You mean like all the Nascar Dad, Wal*Mart shopper, etc etc comments that a strewn across Fark threads?

For as open-minded as the left claim to be, they are just as bigoted as those they profess to oppose.

/couldn't care less who's on the cover of Time, never read the bloody rag anyway

2005-04-17 05:26:23 PM
Ted Rall = 'Ronald RAY-GUN is turning Crispy Brown right now' and 'Pat Tillman joined the army so he could kill him some brown skinned Aye-Rabs'

VS

Ann Coulter = 'kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity'

...

yeah, I see your point.

I wonder how much Rall believes his stuff vs how much Coulter really wants to try to convert all Muslims to Christianity ...

GraphicAddiction: It doesn't matter who it's directed at all that much to me.

Yep. She's the woman that a lot of farkers love to hate, and while I can understand why people get that way I also saw the threads about Andrea Dworken(sp) passing and how her own brand of hate was supported (and despised). The haters were shouted down for the most part. You will never see that here concerning Ann Coulter.

/not an Ann Coulter fan

2005-04-17 05:29:13 PM
a good deal of it is far worse than anything I've ever heard Coulter say.

Tell me, o wise one, where exactly on national television and print you hear these liberals advocating death for those they disagree with?

2005-04-17 05:30:10 PM
Ann Coulter strikes me as someone who hasn't had a decent lay in years. That's the only explanation for her insanity. She's pissed because no man in his right mind would ever lay her, and she's mad at the world because of it.

pauly1620:

Yes, exactly.

For as open-minded as the left claim to be, they are just as bigoted as those they profess to oppose.

I'm not sure how measurable that is, but you're right, the difference is negligible.

Worse than saying all Democrats should be deported?

Hating the hateful is justified as far as I am concerned. Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.

2005-04-17 05:31:28 PM
i don't hate her because of her views (though they scare the bejesus out of me), i hate her because she's a biatch, plain and simple. a biatch.

"Airports scrupulously apply the same laughably ineffective airport harassment to Suzy Chapstick as to Muslim hijackers. It is preposterous to assume every passenger is a potential crazed homicidal maniac. We know who the homicidal maniacs are. They are the ones cheering and dancing right now.

We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war."

.

Sounds to me like she is "advocating the deaths of those they disagree with Terrorists."

hum?

And anyone else who happens to live near them.

Radioactive Ass: You will never see that here concerning Ann Coulter.

Well, I mention it every once in a while just because some things strike me as unhealthy anger towards some entertainer out to make a buck.

Also, I'm surprised at all the traffic the 'left' seems to like to steer toward anything to do with her. I kind of think that's pretty funNEE, myself.

She's pretty popular around here, hate her or not.

2005-04-17 05:34:45 PM
Sounds to me like she is "advocating the deaths of those they disagree with Terrorists."

Actually, she's advocating the deaths of a hell of a lot of people who have nothing to do with terrorism. That particular subset is probably .01% or less of the people who be killed. The WWII analogy is useless because being "at war with terrorism" is not the same as "being at war with Germany".

or that really fat guy that made 120 million off the left...what was his name again?

oh well, doesn't matter.

She's as batshiatcrazy as he is, she just doesn't cause starvation in Ethipoia...

GuinnessDrinker: Worse than saying all Democrats should be deported?

Yeah, I've heard things about Jesusland and moving fundies all out of the country.

Several times.

... searching ...

hey - I'm at a loss here, I cant find a quote where Coulter said "all Democrats should be deported" Can you get me the page please?

Haven't seem much of old MM in a few months. I wonder why all the 'righties' haven't been submitting any threads?

2005-04-17 05:38:36 PM
Who?

You haven't discovered the joys of Ted Rall? Google for his website and page thru his archives. He's the mirror opposite of Coulter and says things just as loopy, only with a severe left wing bias.

I think if Rall and Coulter ever shook hands there would be some sort of explosion or something.

I think he's still in mouring over the Kerry loss in the presidential election.

That's beautiful! I need to save that comment somewhere. I am sure that the "hateful" are well defined to you and do not include anyone that is out of favor with your brilliant opinion.

How about tolerance for all (except the intolerant)?

This is where that kind of thinking implodes.

Hypocrites.

It's not a direct quote. She's implied it many, many times before.

Christian Exodus? You mean the Rapture??

... reading ...

"ChristianExodus.org is moving thousands of Christians to South Carolina to reestablish constitutionally limited government founded upon Christian principles."

heh - they should move to UTAH.

I've heard things about Jesusland and moving fundies all out of the country

And lets not forget a certain democratic leader who said that "its a fight of good versus evil and they're (the republicans) are the evil..." I'm not sure calling a group "evil" is a good thing.

She did it to sell books, he did to win elections.

/BTW, I think extremists like her are idiots, but lets not make it out to be "our side good, you're side bad" thing. Both sides have pundits that say stupid shiat.

2005-04-17 05:41:16 PM

If we are going to get into nutty comparisons, has anyone on the "left" advocated blowing up buildings like she has for the New York Times building?
