My suggestion would've been 'Killing an Arab' by The Cure.

2005-04-13 10:54:06 AM
My suggestion would be to ADD A FRIGGIN' APOSTROPHE.

Is "Bombs over Bahgdad" too obvious?

Oh this is too funny!! Do you think he reads Fark?? Think he would get the hint anyways???

/obviously not a bush fan.

I am very surprised that they didn't pick "Rock the Casbah" by The Clash. I figured that was a gimme. "Monkey Man" by The Rolling Stones would have been acceptable too.

That's not a bad playlist. I prefer the Last Poet's version of "White Man..."

Joyce Grenfell:

for those of you who've never seen the St. Trinians films.

Binnster, i love you, that was my first thought

I was surprised they didn't mentionned B.O.B. by Outkast, too...
and as for the iPod, I just need to mention how i love mine. 40 gigs, I'm getting a-shuffle for when i'm a-runnin'...

I feel a bit like a mac geek (and spoilt white kid) when i'm playing my ipod over itunes using bluetooth while it's updating on my 20" g5 and i'm watching fark on the couch with my ibook

/needed to gloat
//but I really really love mac products.

Which is sort of amusing given that the same sentiment applies readily to The Guardian and much of its readership. I've always been fascinated that for all the crap liberals and conservatives give any outlet in the U.S. that they feel has a political slant, no one seems to have any problem accepting The Guardian's word as bond despite the fact that it's avowedly leftist as hell.

Whuh ?? I think we know that the Grauniad's a left wing news source.

This is satire, you know, not a report of what's on Bush's iPod (although, for some reason, I read President as Pope ?!)

Locomotive - Sick Of It All
Police State- Agnostic Front
California Uber Alles - Dead Kennedys
Opiate - Tool
Cowboy - Kid Rock (this ones for the conservatives out there)

Would have given them more points if they had included the original version of Jesus Doesn't Want Me For A Sunbeam (by the Vaselines) instead of the Nirvana cover.

Every time I hear "You Haven't Done Nothin'" by Stevie Wonder, I think of G-Dub.

2005-04-13 01:33:01 PM
Why no Fortunate Son by CCR? I thought that was the most obvious one. Excluding it makes this list worthless.

2005-04-13 01:33:38 PM
"Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Öyster Cult, perhaps?

2005-04-13 01:33:39 PM
Almost anything on 10,000 Maniac's "Blind Man's Zoo" would fit.

"Headstrong" for the fundamentalist wingnuts
"The Lion's Share" to compliment his tax cuts for the ultrarich
"Poison in the Well" for his environmental policies
"Dust Bowl" for screwing the poor, repeatedly
"You Happy Puppet" for Fox News
(and I'm sure "Eat for Two" will work for Jenna Bush soon enough...)

It's an album from the first Bush blight...so it's nice to see it so relevant again.

Randy Newman's lyrics - "Political Science"

No one likes us-I don't know why
We may not be perfect, but heaven knows we try
But all around, even our old friends put us down
Let's drop the big one and see what happens

We give them money-but are they grateful?
No, they're spiteful and they're hateful
They don't respect us-so let's surprise them
We'll drop the big one and pulverize them

Asia's crowded and Europe's too old
Africa is far too hot
And Canada's too cold
And South America stole our name
Let's drop the big one
There'll be no one left to blame us

We'll save Australia
Don't wanna hurt no kangaroo
We'll build an All American amusement park there
They got surfin', too

Boom goes London and boom Paree
More room for you and more room for me
And every city the whole world round
Will just be another American town
Oh, how peaceful it will be
We'll set everybody free
You'll wear a Japanese kimono
And there'll be Italian shoes for me

They all hate us anyhow
So let's drop the big one now
Let's drop the big one now

This is the "liberal balance" to the farking hatchet piece on Kerry?

Remember - mild Bush-bashing piece of fluff satire is proof that Drew keeps this ideologically balanced. /roll

Ms. Beanz:

Tatsuma, you realize you can put your 40 gig on shuffle, right? No need for an actual "shuffle".

No, I know that, I use my iPod as my own radio station (will get satellite back eventually)

I'm a runner and a biker... I'll get most of my uptempo/happy/uplifting songs for training, put my shuffle on and start...

I'll get them on random and, unlike the shuffle I got right now, I won't need to press fwd every songs for 53 songs if I want something uplifting

/not really depressed, just like depressive music

you'll never get it out of my hands, granddad.

Actually, I think they tend to be more balanced and fair (ie, european medias) than american medias...

american medias, when it comes to the news, has only to answer to itself...
in the E.U., with the different countries and etc... there's more way to get the news and it's harder for journals to be respectable if they publish filth

(the sun, anyone?)

I still think that, if you would compare the ny times and the guardian, that the guardian might be more into giving the exact details of what happened

don't even get me started on fox

Unfortunatly, the court declared that I could never be within a mile of him, nor try to attempt to contact him, his family, his friends, his employees and various neighbors ever again
