Bo knows a good lawyer, apparently.

Who cares....Bo knows his 15 minutes were up a LONG time ago.

Dammit. I wanted him permanently discredited. I hope his hip at least still hurts real bad. And I hope he has Crabs.

/Tampa Bay Bucs fan, HATES Bo.

See, this is what you do when you actually haven't done steroids. You FILE the suit, instead of just threatening a la Bonds and all the others.

I remember playing Tecmo Bowl with Bo. You could be at the 1-yard line run all the way back to your 1-yard line and then back again for the TD. He was so awesome on that game.

Bo's a decent guy. I lived in the same apartment building as him back when he was having a house built in KC, and he was very quiet, extremely polite, and pleasant to his neighbors. He certainly filled up the elevator with his bulk. Kinda scared me when I saw him practicing with a compound bow in the vacant lot behind the building, but he aimed it the right direction.

Thats what I thought to Christian Bale... when Cansecos book came out I thought, "if these guys really were clean they would be sueing him instantly". Instead they go to the papers and say that he's lying. If someone did that to me (and I was in their position of being famous for hitting home runs, etc) I'd be doing something about it. I;m not one of those ppl who instantly thinks "sue" as soon as something doesnt go my way, but if my record/repuation/possibly hall of fame were on the line, there wouldnt be any question about it.

I think Mike Vick needs to sue Smoking Gun for spreading those herpes lies.

Glad to hear that there are at least one athlete who won't resort to steroids to enhance his performance.

nucleardonkey knows he's tired of all the "Bo knows" puns.

Whatever happened to Bo? He was the biggest thing in sports for awhile and he just disapeared. Did he get hurt or something? I really don't remmember.

He did, however, once stone a group of pigs to death for fun when he was a teenager, so we can still hate him.

heheheheehehhe great name and funny quote because of it....

just wanted to add, bo jackson was one of the evolutionary athletes. just a completely different athlete, if he hadnt broken his hip, i think he would have broke payton's record before emmitt did....
2005-04-10 06:17:48 PM
as a big auburn fan, i did some research, and in bo's short career, had kept the same pace, or just slowed a little, he would have totally shattered all rushing records

The truth is almost every professional athlete has taken prescribed steroids -- for injuries! I myself was prescribed steroids once for an infected toe...

Imagine if you are playing 160+ games a season and you get a nasty foot infection from stepping on something in a shower on an away game. Your doctor gives you antibiotics and steroids so you won't be out for two weeks.

Now there is a massive witch hunt... do they even differenciate between steroids taken for infections/injuries and illegal steriod abuse? Or are they just picking on certian athletes they don't like? Like I know they were trying to discredit Barry Bonds as soon as he got close to breaking records.

Matt Foley:

Thanks for bringing back that piece of obscure memory.

No way Bo was juiced. I knew him in high school (I played baseball at a rival school) and he was absolutely friggin huge then, in the early 80s. There were some piney woods beyond the left-field fence, with trees maybe 30-40 feet tall, and he hit balls OVER those trees. It was a big high school field, too, like 370 in the gap.

The amazing thing, too, was that he never lifted weights. It was legendary.

.Bo knows his 15 minutes were up a LONG time ago.

yes - he did have his 15 minutes, and they are gone now, but my jebus what an athlete.

regularly broke bats over his knee. i remember he broke one on a check swing (think about that) but that could be legend i guess. remember when he ran up the wall as a royals outfielder to catch a fly? or how about when he could that fly on the run with his bare hand. reckless? yes. play made? yes.

oh and he could play football too. i still remember watching the play (live) where he jammed his pelvis. that was the end... fame or no, that guy was special.

could that fly -> caught that fly

The video of Bo running over Brian Bosworth on Monday Night Football will always have a warm, special place in my otherwise cold and shriveled heart. I always have liked Brian Bosworth, in all his roided up glory, but Bo treated him like a red-headed stepchild that day.

Bo played this much smarter than the rest of today's athletes. Attack, fast and furious. Get ahead of the story. Otherwise, the story gets ahead of you and the next thing you know you're looking like a slimy weasel in front of congress and the nation. I'm looking at you Big Mac.

Bo knows image.

Buford T. Justice

I heard one that might have you beat. I know a couple of guys who used to play at Gardendale. If you've ever played there, there's a road that runs on a hill just outside the fence. On this other side of this road there's a business and some houses, and behind that there's a residential neighborhood. The story I heard says that Bo hit the roof of one of those houses.

/He once scissor-kicked Angela Lansbury!

Wow. I do not doubt it. There's all kinds of legends out there about Bo, and I remember them from 20 years ago. He hit like 25 home runs his senior year.

I have the Mark & Brian Bo Jackson song in my head now.
