Interesting. I've never seen a Photoshop contest get converted to a "strange" thread and get greenlighted.

Oh, well. I'm just glad to share.

Here is the link to the Slashdot article. The links go to some more Apple Hardware art. I thought the "Firewall" was pretty cool as well.

Someone needs to daisychain those moniters to the same CPU.

That'd be awesome!!11!!1

This is art. Worth millions.

Find an idiot and sell it for millions.

Freakin' Sweet! I bet if you turned them all on and crawled through the arch, you would enter another dimension.

When's the victory parade?

Slashdot had the story behind this yesterday. Artist uses old PCs for sculpture.

It never ceases to amaze me what people can do with garbage.

What ceased to amaze me years ago was the fact that other people actually buy said garbage.

to be honest I always like a good joke, so the artsy surrealistic photoshops usually annoy me, but ch4r7ie I really like that one for some odd reason.

As for the Arc de Monitor, very cool, very funny...

WOW a 1/4 of todays(as of 4am Central) articles have been jacket from slashdot! props Fark

And on saturday I was talking to a friend about weird things people do with old computer hardware (he knew someone stacking 386's to make a coffee table, and had monitors for side tables).
2005-04-04 05:52:45 AM
I don't get it, are they just stacked that way, or are they glued together as well? I think it's cool if they're just stacked, but it's cheating if they're glued together.

I'm thinking a Stargate made out of monitors. I just wish I had the skill.
2005-04-04 06:24:43 AM
Artistic genius of the highest order! Truly this master piece will go down in history as a turning point in the design and aesthetics of arches and monitors everywhere. Designers will be forced to ask, "how will this monitor i'm working on look as a keystone?", or "could this arch use more monitor?". Yes, yes it could.

So, will people get to sue the artist when they eventually develop cancer from all the EM radiation?

2005-04-04 09:28:47 AM
Holy crap. That got greenlighted!?!? Must be a conspiracy against me. :-)
2005-04-04 10:17:16 AM

my arch nemisis.

2005-04-04 10:18:17 AM
There's no KEYSTONE! I've just lost all interest and amazement.
2005-04-04 10:28:26 AM
of course there is a keystone, it is the keyboard. at first i thought it was a monitor stand, but no...keyboard.
2005-04-04 10:45:11 AM
This is definitely worthy of a photoshop contest. I don't understand why it wasn't greenlit as one.

Wow! Nerds with a lot of free time on their hands.

There's still no cure for cancer.
2005-04-04 11:04:01 AM
Is this a photoshop contest??
2005-04-04 11:05:59 AM
So it's an arch. Big deal. It isn't even inscribed. Build an aqueduct or a bridge out of it and THEN I'll be impressed.
2005-04-04 11:06:05 AM
Ah really is this news? WOW! Farkers definately are slipping up big time around here lately. This is MORE a photoshop contest not a news item! Should read "photoshop" not "strange" submitter.
2005-04-04 11:10:19 AM
keyboard for a keystone... comedy.
2005-04-04 12:01:43 PM
An unusual greenlight...
2005-04-04 12:07:14 PM
hmm.. We have more than enough old monitors laying around the basement here to create one of these (or probably 5-6 of them).
2005-04-04 12:12:24 PM
slow news day?
2005-04-04 12:12:59 PM
This made Fark because....?

It's not news it's...
2005-04-04 01:22:17 PM
I just challenged my pc support guys to do something with all our monitors. We'll see if they're up to the challenge.
2005-04-04 02:01:24 PM

No, this is not a photoshop thread. If it were, our comments would have been deleted by now. Trust me, I know that of which I speak...

Worst. Greenlight. Ever.
