I watched that chase live on CH 11 and it was definitely a wild one. I couldn't believe the crap bith bikes were doing.

2005-04-03 01:45:32 PM
Huh, wonder if its related to the 911 call I made the other day about a guy on a police-looking motorcycle, with a gun, but no insignias on the bike or his "uniform"...

2005-04-03 06:50:23 PM
Here's an idea: maybe it was just a guy dressed like a police officer.

2005-04-03 08:05:00 PM
It was probably just Ponch wearing his old CHIPS uniform to a fan club meeting.

Whatever made you think that?

O.K. who's got the juicy links?

Gascon said the department was examining video footage of the chase to try and identify the officer.

Translation - someone's career is OVER!

Are they sure this happened in Los Angeles and not in Los Santos?

Someone please teach, the person who wrote this article, how, to use a comma.

That officer was a friend of mine, named Eric Estrada. From what I understand, he broke off the pursuit after an errant rock broke one of his pearly-white teeth, his Sampson-like source of power. He was complaining that he didn't have $2,000 to get a crown and restore his invulnerability.

same story but with a little more detail...

I dunno if this helps or not :S

My Guess, it was one of those Funerals motorcycle cops, they drive bikes that look like Police bikes and dress in what looks like a Police uniform. They escort Funeral processions There are a lot of them here in SF

They piss me off and I always ignore them when they try to block traffic

2005-04-03 09:46:33 PM
You "BORG" are an idiot, nuff said.

If it's good enough for Shatner, it's good enough for us.

Well he should be easy to identify:

2005-04-03 09:58:11 PM
Why that yosluggo? I see "fake motorcycle" cops everyday here in California I live six buildings down from a funeral home where they hang out

2005-04-03 10:07:09 PM
Didn't Sifl and Olly have a song about a ghost cop?

2005-04-03 10:09:02 PM
You are an idiot because, "They piss me off and I always ignore them when they try to block traffic." I dont know how you were raised, but when a funeral procession is going by they have the right of way.

2005-04-03 10:10:14 PM
In California only peace officers and fireman have permission to give traffic directions on a public street. Those fake funeral traffic wardens are assholes as are the funeral directors hiring and using them. If they want actual funeral procession rights to run red lights and make other vehicles yeild to a right of way, they can hire real peace officers to perform this service. They are just too cheap to follow the law.

Same thing with people hired to direct traffic around a ad or movie shot, etc. If they want to control a street they need to pay for a policeman.

2005-04-03 10:10:23 PM
It was one of these guys (you need to have seen Magnum Force)

2005-04-03 10:15:47 PM
Ok "nullportal" is an idiot too.

2005-04-03 10:16:55 PM
C'mon people, I know someone has this chase on video. Let's see it!!

2005-04-03 10:18:00 PM

Wanted for questioning.

2005-04-03 10:18:21 PM
So, what do you think was going on?

I think either

A) Random off duty cop join pursuit, then gives up.
B) Man looking like cop who is friend of fleeing man joins pursuit trying to fake out police helicopter into giving up chase
C) random crazy dude acts crazy.

2005-04-03 10:21:38 PM
yosluggo

Ok "nullportal" is an idiot too.

Tell that to the California legislature, who you seem to consider "idiots" also because they don't agree with how it is done in Cesspool, Texahoma.

There are excellent reasons for not giving the power to control traffic to every idiot who might want it or customarily has it in SOME COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STATE.

2005-04-03 10:25:58 PM
"You're the second person to ask me that," said a watch commander. "What is going on?"

I like to see nearby police departments are on the ball.

2005-04-03 10:28:48 PM
Laws were made for idiots like you "nullportal". Obviously you have the inability to tell right from wrong on your own. I guess you need the courts to tell you how to act. I know if I was buring a family member and some cali homo liberal tried to cut in I'd have to drag his or her ass from the car.
It's called respect, show some.

"It's called respect."

No, no, respect is something earned, you want the state to help you attention whore. Why would anyone respect you or your dead spawn considering you walk around calling everyone homo liberals, unless of coarse the government enforces your dilusion, in which case you a communist pervert.

2005-04-03 10:40:17 PM
Hehe, I watched that one too. It was a fascinating chase, and the guy actually got away, which you never see.

2005-04-03 10:40:32 PM
yosluggo

Laws were made for idiots like you "nullportal".

Laws are made by the legislatures having the power to do so. You live in Michigan, apparently, where funeral processions are granted a right of way, AS A MATTER OF STATUTE (it certianly is no inherent right), in certain circumstances. Some other states in the US also grant various rights of way for funeral processions, and not all of these rights of way are identical. It is a matter of what each state's legislature has determined in its vehicle code.

In California the only way a funeral procession gains a right of way is to have the right of way in its favor for each vehicle according to ordinary rules of the road, or to have an actual peace officer directing traffic in a manner that gives the procession right of way. People who violate the vehicle code are doing something they have no right to do and are endangering others who are following the vehicle code. Peace officers will use red and blue flashing lights to control an intersection, for instance, which these phony funeral cops aren't allowed to have and so don't use. They endanger the public to save money - they are assholes.

If you would like to know why I believe funeral directors should not be given right of way control similar to peace officers because they too often fail to responsibly exercise what limited powers they are given (there are many such reasons, but here's just one example) see an example from your own state: http://www.freep.com/features/living/helms28e_20050328.htm

Nullportal an idiot? Maybe.
Yosluggo an idiot? Absolutely.

2005-04-03 10:46:19 PM
ok we got us another "idiot moriaty23"!!!
Jesus what is wrong you idiots? What part of not cutting into a funeral procession do you not understand? You just dont do it. You dont like me saying homo liberal but you have no problem with Cesspool, Texahoma being said. I see double standards at work here.
As far as respect your daddy should be teaching you this stuff.

2005-04-03 11:03:20 PM
He should be easy enough to track down. Just find the guy whose partner is retiring in a week.

2005-04-03 11:07:07 PM
I'm from Texas, I'm in Texas. "Texahoma" makes sense. Respect, and my father would agree, has nothing to do with having the audacity to die, but having the drive to do great things. Honestly, I don't understand why we don't ship the dead from place to place by mail, there really isn't much of a rush, and it would boost profits lost to the email. Get off the road, there are people with lives trying to drive.

In california cops from different counties are allowed to cross county lines on weekends. Really doesn't help much except spread corruption from county to county...and cause problems for the state & local police.

Maybe the motorcycle cop was an officer from another county chasing someone leaving his county, and since LA has banned street chases by police, he removed his identification to avoid getting in trouble? We should expect more of this in the future, california rocks!!

Makes me think of the band name cop shoot cop.

2005-04-03 11:28:03 PM
yosluggo save your bandwith man, you wont get anywhere with these people. they are the same a$$hats that were trashing the Pope even before his body was cold yesterday. unfortunately too many people nowadays did not have mothers to teach them the right way to behave in public

Officers in patrol cars began following the suspect, who was driving a motorcycle, near Sunset Boulevard in the Hollywood area.

You drive a car. You ride a motorcycle.

"Makes me think of the band name cop shoot cop."

The name has nothing to do with police officers, it is a heroin reference; Cop, Shoot, Cop, Shoot, etc.
