Shouldn't Sandy Berger and Sandi Patty get together and open up a burger joint near the beach?

No offense, but I'm having trouble recalling an administration since Kennedy that's been anywhere near 'honest'.

Isn't someone going to blame Clinton for this?

2005-03-31 11:35:03 PM
I hope he gets sent to FPMITA prison. He won't--but he damn well should. He stole documents from the National Archives, and why? To keep his lowlife boss Bubba from being revealed for the lackluster sackoshjt he really was.

And the Clinton defenders here have the guts to slag Condi Rice?

You're right. Who needs 115 uninterrupted months of economic growth, 22 million new jobs, the lowest unemployment rate in 40 years, the highest homeownership rate in US history, the lowest crime rate in a quarter of a century, the smallest welfare load in three decades, the lowest poverty rate in two decades, the dismantling of 1700 Soviet nuclear warheads, and the conversion of the largest budget deficit in American history into a budget surplus?

Sounds to me more like he accidentally stuck some papers in his jacket pocket and forgot about them, then walked out. Who hasn't done something like that? It's not like he took the only copies - they know exactly what he walked out with, so it's pretty obvious he wasn't trying to cover anything up. But yeah, he screwed up, and I'm glad they're fining him for it.

What color is the sky in your world? Please!!!

He called the episode "an honest mistake," and denied criminal wrongdoing.

If he really thought he was doing nothing wrong, why did he stuff them into his pants and try to sneak out with them?

/this was needed.

2005-03-31 11:45:35 PM
Basically, this dude stole copies of some documents (not the actual documents) and his handwritten notes.

The Bush administration disclosed the investigation days before the Sept. 11 commission issued its final report. Democrats claimed the White House was using Berger to deflect attention from the harsh report, with its potential for damaging Bush's re-election prospects.

Damn, I'm glad the Bush administration at least investigated something about 9/11.

Pssst, Angel of Death - despite facts being on YOUR side, somehow they spin Clinton's economic record into Reagan's sterling accomplishment via a Chewbacca Defense concerning spending Russia into the ground.

He is a WOOKIE!

Oh, and about no soldiers dying under Clinton? Well...that one was Saint Ronnie too. Somehow.

Angel of Death,

Largest tax increase since WWII.

Dragged into fiscal responsability--kiking and screaming--by a GOP congress.

Vetoed welfare reform THREE FUGGIN' TIMES, until Dick Morris told him he wouldn't be re-elected without signing it.

Hid under his desk on the whole issue of Islamic terrorism.

As far as I know, no US soldiers died in that conflict. And we bombed a Chinese embassy...surely you're happy about that?

This thread has become a flamewar in record time. Consult the Fark.com record books.

No doubt we had good economic times in the '90s, but they had nothing to do with Clinton. All of it was a result of the internet and technology boom, and when the bubble burst, the good times came to a screaching halt. The recession had begun before Bush ever stepped into office in his first term. Clinton's economic policies had nothing to do with it, and just as a note, America was also paying record-high taxes under Clinton.

Largest tax increase since WWII.

...proving that a tax increase is not necessarily a bad thing, since the economy was sterling.

Dragged into fiscal responsability--kiking and screaming--by a GOP congress.

The same GOP Congress that currently, under a GOP President, exhibits no fiscal responsibility? If you haven't noticed, the budget surplus is gone.

Hid under his desk on the whole issue of Islamic terrorism.

The men who bombed the World Trade Center the first time are in jail. Number of Osama bin Ladens caught by President Bush: zero.

Now die.
