That is really a shame - he was a hell of a good comedian.

Any word on weird Al's parents?
2005-03-31 02:47:07 PM
Wow, he was scheduled to perform at a Funny Bone here
in the next week or so. Glad I didn't buy advance tickets.
2005-03-31 02:47:08 PM
So long, Mitch Altogether.

Obviously, the buoyancy of citrus did not pull through....

"File under "D"

/heart attack? while skiing?
2005-03-31 02:47:20 PM
Heroin or Heart Attack, dead is dead.

RIP Mitch. Make God Laugh
2005-03-31 02:47:25 PM
Damn...and he was funny. RIP.
2005-03-31 02:47:35 PM
He used to do drugs. He still does, but... no wait. He only used to do drugs.
2005-03-31 02:47:45 PM
WTF!? He wasn't that old!!!

"Smokey is WAY more intense in person."

2005-03-31 02:47:51 PM
i could see it comin from a mile away...
2005-03-31 02:47:53 PM

"At my hotel room, my friend once came over and asked to use the phone. I said "Certainly." He said "Do I have to dial 9?" I said "Yeah, especially if it's in the number."

"I would imagine if you understood Morse Code, a tap dancer would drive you crazy."
2005-03-31 02:47:59 PM
man, he was one funny mutha. I didn't know him until XM Radio.
2005-03-31 02:48:01 PM
man i really loved this guy.

One time a guy handed me a picture of himself, and he said, "Here's a picture of me when I was younger." Every picture of you is of when you were younger. Here's a picture of me when I am older. You son of a biatch, how'd you pull that off? Let me see that camera..."
2005-03-31 02:48:03 PM
This is terrible news.

2005-03-31 02:48:03 PM
RIP funny man.
2005-03-31 02:48:07 PM
2005-03-31 02:48:15 PM
RIP Mitch.
2005-03-31 02:48:16 PM
Are you sure it wasn't cocaine? I heard he liked to do one-liners.
2005-03-31 02:48:29 PM
Mitch All-together?
2005-03-31 02:48:30 PM
he was supposed to headline at the Baltimore Improve. sad :(
2005-03-31 02:48:33 PM
My guess is cocaine

anyways, don't get too down yet - tomorrow is april fools day.

Embrace the contraction!
2005-03-31 02:48:57 PM
Man, thank god we still have Carrottop.

RIP, Mitch.
2005-03-31 02:49:16 PM
Man, I was really hoping this was a tasteless April Fool's joke. RIP, Mitch, you were a hell of a comedian.
2005-03-31 02:49:17 PM
What about the Dufrenses?
2005-03-31 02:49:35 PM
I knew who he was, and no disrespect intended, I never liked his comedy.
I don't like comedians with that much "schtick"
Him, Emo, Steven Al.
The only one I ever liked with over the top schtick was Dennis Wolfberg...and HE died too.

/look out Emo!
2005-03-31 02:49:35 PM
Is it bad that I am more upset about this than the whole Terri Shaivo thing? I wish some other news people report on this too.
2005-03-31 02:49:36 PM
Don't fark up the bass, Chuck.
2005-03-31 02:49:40 PM
RIP Mitch.
2005-03-31 02:49:48 PM
Unbelievable! I was just thinking the Jimmy Johns radio ad sounded just like him. This had better not be an early April Fools, 'cause it's just not funny.
2005-03-31 02:49:58 PM
i hope this is just some poorly orchestrated, in extremely bad taste, early April Fool's joke that just aint funny.

"As a comedian, you must start strong and end strong. You can't be like pancakes. All exciting at first, but then, by the end, you're farking sick of 'em!"
2005-03-31 02:50:06 PM
Damn! I never got to see him live. :(

"I used to do drugs. I still do drugs. But I used to, too."
2005-03-31 02:50:20 PM
Rice is good to eat if you are hungry for a thousand of something.

Bill Hicks, now Mitch... But Sinbad still draws breath. Life is unfair.

(Someone keep an eye on Eddie Izzard, just in case Ghod is taking all the funny ones.)
2005-03-31 02:50:23 PM
Sad to see him go. He was my favorite commedian.
2005-03-31 02:50:23 PM
I saw him back in the fall when he last came through San Francisco. It was damn funny. I'll treasure that experience because I'll never have it again. Happy trails, Mitch.
2005-03-31 02:50:31 PM
That is truly a bummer.

Just think of Mitch walking through the pearly gates with a beaver in tow.
2005-03-31 02:50:47 PM
This is awful news. I guess I should have taken that opportunity to see him here a couple of months ago...
2005-03-31 02:50:52 PM
Sure he didn't die of blood loss? He did pay a visit to Dr Acula...

/RIP mitch
2005-03-31 02:50:57 PM
I saw him live a half dozen times, most recently about 3 months ago. I actually gasped when I read the headline. I mean, it's not much of a surprise, I guess, but a shame for certain.

"I had an ant farm. Them fellas didn't grow sh*t" - MH
2005-03-31 02:51:12 PM
Saw him multiple times on comedy central and heard him on Sirius. Always enjoyed his stuff and wanted to see him live.
2005-03-31 02:51:14 PM
Damn, he was fantastic. I saw him with Dave Attell and Lewis Black in Raleigh a couple years ago. I loved his act. This is WAY worse than Terri Schiavo.

Even worse than Johnny Cochran.

/I don't have a girlfriend. I just know a girl who would get really mad if she heard me say that.
2005-03-31 02:51:16 PM

RIP Mitch - may your milk ever be mixed up enough.
2005-03-31 02:51:19 PM
So sad. I was going to his show next weekend at the Virginia Beach FunnyBone.

Guess I better make some other plans.

My favorite Mitch-ism:

"I don't have a girlfriend. But I do know a woman who'd be mad at me for saying that."
2005-03-31 02:51:20 PM
When the escalator is broken, it is just stairs.
2005-03-31 02:51:20 PM
I'm not really surprised, considering, but tragic nonetheless. The last time I saw him he was pretty farked up..but I didn't care.

God dammit, Otto!

Quotes and links in my profile, but you really have to hear or see him to get the full effect. Go buy his stuff, you'll be glad you did.

My heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.

What a shiat ass day.
2005-03-31 02:51:50 PM
He hasn't been dead for ten days....because that would be too long....

Poor Mitch.
2005-03-31 02:51:54 PM
Every book is a children's book, if the kid can read.

2005-03-31 02:51:56 PM
This sucks.

I didn't know about Mitch until I got XM Radio last year. He was/is a staple on XM 150. At first, I didn't like him, but his comedy definitely grew on me. I was hoping to catch his act the next time he hit LA.

2005-03-31 02:51:57 PM
This guy did heroin like it was candy.
2005-03-31 02:52:04 PM
That's about as funny as a heart attack.
