My God, will these activist judges stop at nothing?!?

2005-03-31 07:39:34 AM
When beating your girlfriend for having an opinion is outlawed, only outlaws will beat their girlfriends. Now get back in the kitchen and bake me a pie!

2005-03-31 07:45:57 AM
What a moran. Everyone knows you can only beat up spouses/significant others if they're going to vote Republican.

2005-03-31 07:51:05 AM

I did not know that.

2005-03-31 07:56:11 AM
If only more of our youth would follow this fine, upstanding, young republican's lead we could finally rid the world of this liberal plague!

2005-03-31 07:58:53 AM
Idiot. If it bothered him that much he should find a new girlfriend.

I won't date anyone whose political views stray too far from my own (from either side). It makes things too difficult.

slayer199 so what do you do? Cruise other blogs looking for dates?

Sometimes opposites attract.

/Married to a registered Republican, who voted for Bush twice.

Yeah, I had just started a great relationship with a hot Korean girl shortly before the election. Before we had sex we discussed what we would do if she became pregnant. She said it would definitely be an abortion, no questions asked.

Closer to election time, it turns out she's rabidly pro-life and claims to be a hardcore Christian. Let's ignore the utter hypocrisy of judging others while saying you'd indulge in the behavior you believe to be a mortal sin if you needed to...she was still kind of psycho.

It all ended the Sat. before the elections. That left me with far more time to help canvas and campaign for Kerry in the last few days.

slayer199: I won't date anyone whose political views stray too far from my own

I have to agree with this. I could never be with someone who is the opposite of me in something that is so fundamentally rooted in me.

My ex-girlfriend voted for Nader. I didn't beat her up over it. The world got all the political revenge I needed -- she lives in Texas now.

That's kind of how I look at punishing people who voted for Bush. There's really no need to, because now he's president and they have to bend over and take it like everyone else. Just desserts.

If I dated a girl and she voted for Nader, she'd be my ex too.

No. Just pay attention when someone is talking. Since I'm neither a Democrat or Republican, most people in the middle are acceptable.

We didn't break up over politics. I can tolerate a girl voting Democrat or Green. I draw the line at political activism for the enemy. If she works on the Kerry campaign or has Kerry stickers on her purse, I tell myself "it wouldn't work."

A study a few years ago found that women are more likely than men to require a politically compatible mate.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We don't need a FLORIDA tag, we need a BROWARD COUNTY tag. Florida residents know what I'm talkin about.

I think you meant "just deserts". Unless you are referring to pastries or cake.

"Many relatives of Steven's have served in the armed forces ... and he had every intention of going to other parts of the world to defend the United States," Salnick said.

Apparently he was looking forward to bringing democracy to the world and help folks in other countries vote for President Bush

... :)

Nothing, you already told her twice.

ZAZ: I draw the line at political activism for the enemy.

Whether you are joking or not, that sentence pretty much sums up what's wrong with today's political climate. I may think some people are naive and misguided, driven by greed and egocentrism, or are just flat-out stupid, but I'd never consider calling another American "the enemy".

That is, unless they're an actual traitor. Or they watch American Idol.

3 months in jail for kidnapping and threatening to murder the girl with a knife? What a joke. The judge must want him to finish her off.

Yeah, they should at least lock him up until after the midterms.

Wow, what a bunch of enlightened, well rounded individuals you all are.

I would, Pocket Ninja, but I decided a while ago to just let those go, as the thought of their lifetimes of "correcting" people is much more enjoyable. I decided this at some point in the regular string of "You idiot, it's 'Michael touched him and I in our no-no parts. Stupid.'" that I've heard throughout my life.

2005-03-31 01:18:32 PM

I predict an honest discussion in this thread without people resorting to hackneyed stereotypes of liberals or conservatives.

It's sad that many republicans think most problems can be solved with force (while endorsing a "culture of life", no less).

Wouldn't have mattered if he killed her; she didn't belong to the electoral college, so her vote didn't count anyway...

2005-03-31 01:22:52 PM
You should be able to kill somebody for voting non-Republican. You're a terrorist if you don't vote Republican. God Bless America, Bush and the Republican Party.

Bah! I lack the willpower of my fellow farkers. "Desert" is a dry place with lots of sand. "Dessert," as you already pointed out, is something you usually eat after dinner. The saying is "He got his just desserts," meaning "he got what was coming to him."

I thought of that exact same joke when I read the headline. What does that say about us? :(

What is it that conservative Fakers always spew - "There's that trademark 'liberal tolerance' for you"? Well, now the coin is flipped.

2005-03-31 01:26:08 PM
"ZAZ: I draw the line at political activism for the enemy."
This is what happens when you take your politics just a bit too seriously.
You do realize that your fellow citizens are actually allowed to disagree with your political choices, right?
Pray you dont find out that the enemy you should have been watching, didn't happen to blind you by sharing political views.

2005-03-31 01:26:33 PM
Can I beat her up if I'm a drunk Texas trustfund recovering drug addict?

Lets hope you never have to write an essay on the French Revolution, othwise Marie Antoinette is going to end up sounding like she wanted the peasants to fellate eachother.

And he was the Bush supporter. Would this be Ironic?

I was just listening to Rush while coming back from a haircut. He was actually defending this guy.

"Soper had planned to join the Army"..."he had every intention of going to other parts of the world to defend the United States"

by all means, let's get this nutcase into the military. i can think of no other way that he could be a contribution to society. maybe they could strap him to the door of a freakin' humvee as additional armor.

In other news the military doesn't take felons. Too bad, they need upstanding citizens like him.

I've observed that behaviour many times in my life. I call it the "That's Different" philosophy. Example;
He shouldn't do that, that's adultery and it's just wrong!
"But you're fooling around too?"
That's different!

ZAZ
That made no sense!

2005-03-31 01:29:44 PM
Actually, it is "Just Deserts"

Main Entry: 3desert
Pronunciation: di-'z&rt
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English deserte, from Old French, from feminine of desert, past participle of deservir to deserve
1 : the quality or fact of deserving reward or punishment
2 : deserved reward or punishment -- usually used in plural

You can also look it up on Snopes.

2005-03-31 01:29:52 PM
A two party system just does'nt work.

Hell it's either you voted for one guy or the other... catch up with the rest of the world's democracy's and get more parties to Represent true belifes and not just a bit from everyones/.
