Probably the best line in the article:

The men were regular customers at the bank.

Dumbasses indeed.

2005-03-29 08:37:25 AM
Police sources said after committing the robbery, the men then raced up a ski lift and snowboarded several kilometres to a car park...

Extreme.

There is some kind of social darwinism at play with dumb criminals. I love it.

"I think these guys have seen too many Ned Kelly films."

How many Ned Kelly films can possibly exist?

RobDenBleyker: Extreme.

You mean X-TREME.

2005-03-29 09:47:39 AM
the two used television crime shows as their inspiration for the robbery

Benny Hill?

isn't getting on a ski lift kind of stupid since if they were being chased, all they have to do is stop the lift until the cops get there?

Yes, Yes it is.

2005-03-29 10:21:28 AM
OTOH, they did get a X-TREMELY larger amount of money than the average bank robbers.

Is there any doubt that teenagers have gotten stupider over the past 5 years?

2005-03-29 10:25:58 AM
There is a bad teenage T&A movie script just begging to be extracted from that article (Hotdog Robs a Bank?).

I do wish that they would stop being called "teenagers" though. While technically correct they were both 19. To me, "teenager" implies someone in the 13-younger16 range. These two clowns were adults in everything but mental capacity & the ability to legally drink or buy a handgun (which is a whole different rant).

"Is there any doubt that teenagers have gotten stupider over the past 5 years?"

LoL, its "more stupider."

Plese.

If anything tempts me to commit crimes, it's the fact that most criminals seem to be such total dumbasses that anyone who is reasonably intelligent should be able to get away with it.

But then I get caught up in the but maybe I'm TOO smart line of thought and psych myself out.

2005-03-29 10:28:50 AM
Absolute morans.

2005-03-29 10:28:52 AM
What amazes me is that it sounds like they got away with it... except that they where regular customers with an Australian accent.
/So close
//So stupid

2005-03-29 10:29:22 AM
Guess they will be taking it outback for 25 years.

Jackasses!

2005-03-29 10:29:35 AM
With shows like Oz you would think that it would be a deterant to not want to commit any crimes. There is no way I would want to end up in one of those prisons. If punishment is severe enough then you don't do it.

welcome to a PYITA prison, american style. dumbasses... or in there case, will soon be soreasses.. haha esp. the one who collapsed in tears upon police investigation.

Why can't our schools teach children to be more smarter.

I learned in 2nd grade not to take pictures of the crimes I commit.

//2nd grade teacher was Mr. Fagen
//best friend T.A. Dodger

Was Mountain Dew filming this for a commercial?

I wish they'd release those pictures. I picture the Stuntaz piled in the stall with the cash looking all tough for the camera. Please release the pictures.

reminds me of this one time at band camp when I ran outside raging drunk and tempted God by waving a 15-foot metal poll in the air during a lightning storm.

2005-03-29 10:35:05 AM
Just think about how much money would get stolen every year if criminal were smart.

2005-03-29 10:38:55 AM
Heck that is a good score. If they had not been asshats, they would have been fine.
But think about it. How long could you live off of 171k? maybe 5-6yrs in the US in some low rent setup; maybe twice as long in some 3rd world shiat hole. Split that in half and you got nothing.
Get an education kids, then become a CEO. You can take millions without pulling a gun and do much less time at a very nice prison if caught.

Lord_Baull, see my post. Corp crime is in the billions and far out does low rent property crimes and robberies.

I think the real question of course would have to be: Did they, in any way, get busy in said bathroom?

man...that neighbor is hilarious. one gem after another comes out of that guy's mouth...

"I was playing my Xbox killing SWAT guys and then I went outside and there were SWAT guys all over the place," John Donovan said.
brilliant quote...absolutely brilliant.

"They later said they didn't know it was illegal to fire their guns. I think these guys have seen too many Ned Kelly films."
uh...who the hell is ned kelly?

i need that guy at the next party i throw.

2005-03-29 10:49:14 AM
From the article:

PRINCE collapsed in tears during his police interview after realising he could face 25 years in prison and a $US250,000 ($325,000) fine.

For some reason, that made me laugh my ass off. Wotta weak-kneed punk. And boy howdy talk about dumb -- who knew you could actually get jail time for grand larceny? It's a scandal!

Idiots. And punk-ass biatch idiots to boot.

2005-03-29 10:49:18 AM
"They later said they didn't know it was illegal to fire their
guns. I think these guys have seen too many Ned Kelly films."

More likely 'these guys' have seen too many american cop shows. These guys were 'regulars at the bank', so obviously had spent a lot of time in the US. The US is more of a gun-happy country than Australia, by a long shot. Especially in media.

Australian bank robber from about 1910? Not sure of the date. He clad himself all in sheet metal and got himself dead!

There have been a couple of movies about him, notably a Heath Ledger version a few years ago, and a 1970's version with Mick Jagger (no, really!)

2005-03-29 10:59:02 AM
This is not a new problem... dumbasses watching so much TV that they think they themselves are on TV.

"B'deah, b'deah... I am a anachist gangsta like I saw on TV! I was, b'deah, I was playing a SWAT game on the Xbox when the real SWAT showed up and started being mean to me! B'deah! What's on TV?"

2005-03-29 11:01:17 AM
Ned Kelly was an Australian outlaw/folk hero who outfitted his gang with suits of armor. Heath Ledger portrayed him in a 2003 movie.

ChuckUFarkley: A lot is stolen every year, they are called taxes and CEO bonuses.

The sad thing is that the stockholders and taxpayers let it happen. That's not theft - it's stupidity.

There is a bad teenage T&A movie script just begging to be extracted from that article

The T&A part will be performed in prison, or at least the A.
