the holocaust was when modernity lost all control and we started discriminately mass exterminating races based on hate and fear.

Who's this "WE" you speak of?

Actually, Al Queida has been pretty upfront about wanting to unite the world, or at least as much as possible under the green banner of Islam, creating a trans national, cultural caliphate. There is a certain similarity in this to Hitlers desire to unite a culturally simalar group of german speaking nations under a single flag. I suspect that if Bin Laden had access to a real military as Hitler did, invasions would be inevitable, probably starting in Saudi Arabia.

Thanks for bringing it up. You have given me much to think about.

In related news, I shall start chanting COR-TES! at appropriate soccer games. Anglo farkers feel free to drag my bleeding tuchas from the stadium and call EMS, since I may get a visit from the department of six guys named Carlos.

Mr Fabulous

Yes - my comment was a little overly blanketed. There are certainly beautiful parts of Mexico. These are parts that have been insulated with foreign (mostly U.S.) money. Places like Merida have an invisible bubble around them that shelter it from the disgusting reality of 98% of Mexico. Cabo San Lucas and Acapulco come to mind as well.
2005-03-28 09:54:45 AM
Just wait until they stampede each other to death. It's cool.
2005-03-28 09:56:13 AM
Well, if the US were to disallow illigal immigrants from Mexico, your agriculture industy would collapse at worst, and produce would become much much more expensive at best.

I call BS on this one....The US Labor Bureau says there are roughly 15 million Mexicans in the US. They also say there are about 1.5 million agriculture jobs they are all trying to get.

Remember that the next time you see Mexican roofers, framers, and painters. You know, those jobs nobody here wants.
2005-03-28 10:00:13 AM
For the past 2-3 years it's been, "Who cares what the world thinks."

What has changed that this episode means anything now?
2005-03-28 10:02:14 AM
It said a smattering of fans chanted Osama. So three drunk guys now represent an entire nation?

This is a demonstration of why Fox in particular and the media in general suck.
2005-03-28 10:02:56 AM
Mexico has more oil than Iraq.

And it will be a helluva lot cheaper to invade and occupy them, because they're right next-door. Screw this $80 bln/yr crap.

Im so tired of hearing this....if we invaded Iraq for oil, why the fark has my gas been going up so much recently? Hell, its gone up 30 cents since December.
2005-03-28 10:03:52 AM
"we" = western world and it's racist and anti semetic attitudes and the unbridled faith in technology.
2005-03-28 10:06:59 AM
You guys have never been to a playoff game where the home team is about to eliminate the opponents.
2005-03-28 10:07:58 AM

Im so tired of hearing this....if we invaded Iraq for oil, why the fark has my gas been going up so much recently? Hell, its gone up 30 cents since December.

How much have the profits of the oil companies gone up by, you think you were going to benefit from this?

When you have owned a Texan oil company, and have lots of friends in the oil industry...... then you'll benefit.
2005-03-28 10:09:11 AM
"Also why is it the places without a large illegal population can make do using legal citizens and residents?"

Whare is this magical fantasy land? Not in the US that's for damn sure. They're not called migrant workers for nothing.

And the award for "totally and completely missing the point" goes to...
2005-03-28 10:09:33 AM
but, elendilmir i do have to admit that you are right that ObL probably would start doing some serious invading if he had an army.

the point is that that the 3000 that died on 9/11 bares no resemblance to the holocaust. whatsoever.
2005-03-28 10:15:48 AM

How am I ignorant? Because I spell reason differently than you? If they hate us so much because of our ideals, why are they constantly trying to get in our country? Answer my question!

Take a deep breath there, tough guy. They try to sneak in here, because we have more jobs for them, in part, thanks to Bush, and in part just because our economy is so much better.

Understanding that we have a good economy does not equate hating us due to jealousy. Do you hate Luxembourge?

I didn't know that you were from North Carolina, do you hate us Northerners, because we have more money than you, and we're more civilized?

I am speaking strictly about Mexico. I have made no blanket statements about the rest of the world.

In this thread. Anyway, I'm not just talking about you, I'm talking about US citizens in general.

I know other countries hate us for slightly different reasons. But Mexicans wouldn't be risking their lives to get into the U.S. and start a new life consisting of freedom in a country that they disagreed with the ideals of so vehemently as you describe.

They would if they were hungry, and needed money to feed their families. Lots of people live and work around people who they hate so that they can make more money. When you're starving, then you're more likely to deal with ignorant people.

Hating something that you can't have is elementary psychology. It is evident in children and uneducated countries like Mexico.
No, it isn't. Please provide me a well-known study (if it's elementary psychology, then the study should be well-known), that shows that if you have less than someone else, and you dislike them, then your distaste for them must be based on jealousy.
2005-03-28 10:17:12 AM
You know I didn't go through all 300+ posts just now, but the many that I did read I caught quite a bit of blatant racism. WTF does a few idiots making noise at a soccer match have to create so much animosity towards a whole country and it's people? Or was that animosity already there for some of you brainwashed conservatives?

There's still quite a few Mexicans who find it bitterly ironic that they have to sneak into a country that they used to own just to make enough wages to support their families back home.
2005-03-28 10:17:58 AM

Would they have anything in common with the victims of the missle lobbing war in the UK? Or, in the interest of equal time, the bombing of Dresden? As innocent civilian victims of a wider war?
2005-03-28 10:18:49 AM
Who's Osama?
2005-03-28 10:19:03 AM
"They're soccer fans. Of course they're retarded."

And gay.

2005-03-28 10:19:53 AM
Think its time to close the southern border =)
2005-03-28 10:21:08 AM

I'd be careful with such Un-American questions.
2005-03-28 10:23:14 AM
I see a resemblance: murder.
2005-03-28 10:23:28 AM
"Hey, hey! What do you call white American person wit Ph.D. in a physics anda math?"
"Ah. I don't know. Rwat?"
"Stupid American!"
2005-03-28 10:28:52 AM
If I saw crap like this, I'd be pissed too:

I see a resemblance: murder.

Too broad. Lots of people kill people without good reason.
2005-03-28 10:29:52 AM
The Mexicans were probably chanting something even ruder and got misheard - when a whole soccer stadium gets going, there's no figuring out what the words actually are...
2005-03-28 10:30:31 AM
Even I, the anti-bush boy that i am, believe that that was stupid. But than again, bush sort of brought such ridicule on the country by being a dumbf@ck of a president. But i wish they wouldn't have shown support for Osama because it just makes the Mexicans look like dumbf@cks too.
2005-03-28 10:31:40 AM

I totally agree with your early post man. For some reason this is stirring up a bunch of fire within people and it brings them to conclusion that...somehow...this *game* has something to do with national policy and this whole illegal immigration thing needs to be nixed. (??) Ignorant nationalism. I bet people don't realize how much work mexico and mexicans put into our infastructure...i'd go so far as to call it the backbone. easy kids, it's just for sport, and message boards like this.
2005-03-28 10:32:06 AM
Yes, dumb**** of a president. Keep underestimating him, homeboy. He doesn't mind one bit - after all, it helped him get elected to a second term.
2005-03-28 10:32:45 AM
Kick all illegals out. All. Prices will go up. So what. Prices NEED TO GO UP! People in the USA need to learn that their lifestyle is not sustainable. Isn't it obvious? THe only way to afford the goods you want is to have them made at lowest-possible-wage factories in farkING CHINA! The only way to ballance your cars, kids, house and food is by hiring illegal immigrants to pick the crops so you can afford to buy it!

Guess what you greedy's only gonna get worse. Gas is going up up up and when we run out of jobs to outsource....hmmmm....

Stop pumping out the babies. Start realizing that buying less goods but of higher quality is the way to go.
2005-03-28 10:33:21 AM
let me add that the population of people cheering "osama! osama!" do NOT represent the entire population of mexico? hot damn you people are jumpy at the generalizations
2005-03-28 10:34:16 AM
jgm1976 - No, it was underestimating the stupidity, gullability, greed and fear of the American people that got him elected.
2005-03-28 10:34:57 AM
Why is it that only Fox News reports that there were Osama chants, let alone reporting about a spattering of anything. Can we say Agenda anyone?

Guess you gotta crank up the potency for all the Fox News smacktards in Jesusland.
2005-03-28 10:37:21 AM
I'm confused... why aren't you in Iraq fighting for the policies you so support?
2005-03-28 10:38:08 AM
[image from too old to be available]

Who here has a problem with Mexico???
2005-03-28 10:38:18 AM
holocaust: attack on an entire race, mass extermination

9/11: indiscriminate terorrist attack on a country, not a race of people. in response to u.s. foreign policy (as well as jihad jihad jihad yes...)

u.s. foreign policy: state sponsored terrorism, post colonialism etc
2005-03-28 10:38:50 AM
Im so tired of hearing this....if we invaded Iraq for oil, why the fark has my gas been going up so much recently? Hell, its gone up 30 cents since December.

Because the pipelines keep exploding?
Because the point was to get control of a natural ressource for profit, not to lower prices.
Because you still buy as much even when they jack up the price?

I'm surprised people can be stupid enough to think that it wasn't about the oil. Did you even listen to the announcements when the invasion begin? They warned Iraq that bombing the oil wells would be considered a war crime. They defended the oil wells thoroughly, but literally sat and watched as the hospitals and museums were looted.
Priority: Oil.
2005-03-28 10:41:49 AM
Half Man Half Biscut

Just like the Roman Empire, decadent and blind to the suffering its own citizens face.

Darn! If those great and powerful communistos won the cold war, then we wouldn't be having this problem now would be Commerade?? I know what can solve this pesky little problem-- increased taxes and welfare benefit to help those poor people which you keep on referring to. They're all commerades as well!

"Soy'ooz neroosh'imi resp'ooblik svob'odnikh
Splot'ila nav'eki vel'ikaia Rus
Da zdr'avstvooyet sozdanni voley nar'odov
Yed'ini mog'oochi Sov'etski Soy'ooz"

(Guess where I got that from??) :)
2005-03-28 10:43:06 AM

I am supprised that Mexico can even field a soccer team, any mexican that can run fast, jump high and swim far is allready here.

Yeah, that's soccer for you... er...
2005-03-28 10:43:11 AM
F42 - yeah because millions of gallons of burning oil would be good for everyone involved. Once a well is burning it is dangerous to put it out. And it is in the best interest of the Iraqi people to preserve their wells so they can make money from them. It is a shame that they looted anything but keep in mind that we had a limited force on the ground. Securing every historic landmark would be difficult and they knew that the oil wells would be targeted.
2005-03-28 10:45:10 AM
Yeah, but they still live in Mexico.....

And they are begging to cross the border and work at every taco bell, mcdonalds, and roadside clean-up crew in AZ.

Oh, and the best part?

Many of you might not remember when we bailed out their Peso from certian doom.

As part of the deal, they put up all their oil platforms, well, etc up for collateral. They have still to pay that off.......
2005-03-28 10:46:18 AM
I think you americans are only seeing this rom one side, you don't have a "soccer" culture.

Football games usualy consist of fans trying to piss each other off as much as posible.

I always find it ammusing when English fans sing "I'd rather be a Paki than a Turk/Kraut/Frog/Jock/Taff.
2005-03-28 10:49:05 AM

Bush was reelected for no other reason than that he was a familiar animal - he could be trusted to act like a horse's ass.

His competitors were relatively unknown quantities. When the herd mentality comes into play, people will usually opt for the familiar.

Bush is predictable - predictably incompetent.

I swear I heard Andres Cantor say:

I...I cant believe it. I cant believe I actually took time from my busy schedual and read through half of this thread.

Either way, some people needs to lighten up. And stop milking WTC so goddamn much. If you knew and cared about someone who died there you can moan and biatch and be as angry as you goddamn please, otherwise shut up farkface. For those not directly attaced to the incident 3k deaths is just barely more than nothing. You have barely glanced at and forgotten attrocities on much larger scales and dont care at all. PLO and Mossad (also mentioned here in the thread because of PLO being chanted during a game) are also small players when you compare them to the Red Khmer, The Sovjiet Union, DNSP and many many more who feel life aint worth crap if it doesnt obey you and/or your ideas.

3k is a bump (though given a big one) in is the US murder statistics. More people has died as a direct result of 9/11's aftermath than died in the actual incident.

And, remember the wise words of the RedVsBlue team : No matter how bad things might it seems ; they cant be any better; they cant be any worse. Things are the way things farking are and you better get used to it nancy. Quit your biatching.
2005-03-28 10:50:54 AM
SlickBomb: (Guess where I got that from??) :)

Your ass?

Do you only see things in black and white? Them and us? WTF has communism got to do with anything? Sorry, that was 1/10 for effort.

Mexican's bad, USAians good.

USA, nice and clean. Mexico, dirty and squalid.

But don't mention that the mighty USA has some of the worst poverty in the 1st world. Don't mention that parts of the USA are far worse than Mexico.

2005-03-28 10:52:28 AM
Why this is just a harmless fraternity prank...

/Oops, wrong thread.
2005-03-28 10:59:00 AM
One time in Seatle a soccer fan once jumped onto the field, wiped his ass with the American flag, stomped on it, and ran off the field before anyone in the stand realized what had happened.

It's not Anti-Americanism, it's just that people take their soccer really, really seriously.

You are the definition of an asshat. It like saying "I took your grandmother out of her grave, threw her body around on the field just to intimidate you, because I take soccer seriously." WAKE UP.

And for the rest of you who seem to be more offended that Fox reported this story rather than the fact that this DID happen, need to grow some balls and realize that if you don't start defending your nationality it won't be long before our way of life is gone forever. It really scares me that we have a majority of people in here looking to tear down any news organization or any other influence that really shows you what's going on out there, just so they can take their liberal agressions out because their man lost the election. You know that still burns.

I'd hate to see what would happen if a full-on invasion of the US would happen, and people would be forced to defend themselves for a change. Most of you would go hug the nearest tree and start doing yoga until the bad people went away. Me? I grab the nearest rifle and go to town. Most of you in here would be to pussy to even touch a gun, let alone know how to use one. You'd piss and complain about anything you could while those people were at your doorstep looking to kill you. And who'd save your ass? Instead of blaming the most current administration, go out and make the changes you want so badly for yourself.

The current make up of this country scares me. We hardly have anyone willing to stick up for their own country, which without it you'd be on the streets looking for food everyday just to survive. I'm thankful for this country everyday. But your attitudes on this website, especially those towards anyone of religious affiliation, have turned this place from a lighthearted/offbeat news site, into a liberal coffee shop where atheism and hate reigns supreme. I'm all for freedom of speech, but above that I believe in respecting your nation, and not sacrificing the goodwill of its good-natured citizens just to spread your liberal propaganda.

Interesting. Do you also fly off the handle like this when people make jokes about your Mom?

Freaking hilarious. Go Mexico!
2005-03-28 11:07:41 AM

realize that if you don't start defending your nationality it won't be long before our way of life is gone forever.

How does the nursery rhyme go?

Sticks and stones may break my bones
But names will never hurt me

Why are some Americans such whinny uber-patriots. What's up, frightened the "Black Helecopters" will come and get you and take your freedom away?
