Mmm, Farkin blood...
2002-03-23 08:50:18 PM
played these, and I must say, I have developed a newfound fear for Robin Williams.
2002-03-23 08:51:31 PM
This movie is either going to be freaking hilarious or suck the big one.
2002-03-23 08:52:58 PM
Astra: The word out of the film festival this premiered at (Sundance, I believe) is the former. I'm thinking of catching it whenever it comes out.
2002-03-23 08:55:02 PM
Cool. It is about time they realized Robin Williams is at his best while being a psycho lunatic instead of being roped into pansy roles like Patch Adams.
2002-03-23 08:56:06 PM

Is it me, or is Robbin Williams starting to look like Grampa from the Munsters?

2002-03-23 08:59:40 PM
What the fark?
2002-03-23 09:18:59 PM
Boomslang:I second that.
What the fark?
2002-03-23 09:19:46 PM
Whoever posted this went in one too many steps, they should have linked to the splash page to get the Smoochy side of the story as well.
2002-03-23 09:20:31 PM
Does Robin Williams play the idiot, misunderstood, man-child that he always does (Patch Adams, Jack, Mrs. Doubtfire, etc.) in this one?
2002-03-23 09:29:43 PM
"Patch Adams? This movie doesn't deserve a director's cut!"

blam blam, etc.
2002-03-23 09:31:05 PM
I love it!
2002-03-23 09:33:19 PM
Smootchy (Barney) Must Die -- 5 years too late.
Robin Williams -- 7 years too late.
Danny DeVito -- 10 years too late.

Powers-That-Be waited way too long to green-light something like this... Why are former "big names" like these guys (and Murphy & DeNiro in "Showtime") in such sucky movies today? They should fire all their agents.
2002-03-23 09:36:25 PM
Astra: "This movie is either going to be freaking hilarious or suck the big one."
I'll give you one guess. DVD-rental-to-be, maybe. Oh... and, nice hat.
2002-03-23 09:43:24 PM
Thank you. I was bored and decided to start photoshopping myself into a variety of movie stills. A Borg Astra should be on the way soon.
2002-03-23 09:43:44 PM
Astra, another of his upcoming movies has him playing a murderer playing with the head of the cop after him (almost Hannible Lector like). Insomnia is the name of the movie, if you ever want to put yourself through (roughly) 2 hours of complete shiat (probably).
2002-03-23 09:49:01 PM
wtf is a smoochy????
2002-03-23 09:52:24 PM
Hmm my guess is suck the big one.. i want it to be good though, really...
2002-03-23 09:57:22 PM
C'mon, after Fight Club and American History X, doesn't the thought of Ed Norton playing a childrens show host strike you as amusing?
:flat monotone voice: "I am Jacks fuzzy Smoochy suit."
2002-03-23 09:58:52 PM
LMAO at the thought of that
2002-03-23 10:02:48 PM
Smoochy must Die! He is the hideous demon son of barney!
2002-03-23 10:06:59 PM
I'm waiting for Zombo.Com the movie.
2002-03-23 10:15:23 PM
I agree with astra.. robin williams is the shiat and with danny devito behind the curtain, it has to be hilarious. it just *has* to. please?
2002-03-23 10:39:25 PM
Holy shiat -- what the fark is this?
2002-03-23 10:40:35 PM
My guess is some executive's son just got a copy of MS Frontpage.
2002-03-23 10:48:28 PM
You know, the real Patch Adams used to babysit me sometimes, no shiat.
2002-03-23 10:56:42 PM

The song that Robin Williams sings is frightening. If I was at home, I would be crying to my mom right now. I'm so very scared. I want to see this movie.

2002-03-23 11:30:07 PM
I know for a fact that Danny DeVito has a very, very dark side. The guy is quite cool really. I mean his best friends are like Jack Nicholson and I forget who else, but JACK!!! hey he's cool.

Seriously, this movie should rock unless the suits get scared and start editing the poo out of it. It'll be worth $10.00 to check it out.
2002-03-23 11:39:39 PM
2002-03-23 11:51:01 PM
i got the feeling this is going to become a cult classic
2002-03-23 11:51:31 PM
Hollywood needs me DAMNIT !
And I need the $$$.
Plus I smoke better weed than Nicholson.
2002-03-23 11:57:13 PM
When they previewed this movie in Aspen or someplace, as I seem to remember, someone mentioned 'the movie will come out -insert date here-' and in the crowd a voice said "Why?"

That's enough for me. Interesting promotional stuff, though.
2002-03-24 12:10:36 AM
Looks like he won't have any problems getting clients in the shiathouse.

I was a member of this film's crew. If you like dark comedy GO SEE IT. Of the films I've worked on, this is the one that I'm most proud to be associated with.

2002-03-24 01:33:46 AM
And to address a few concerns elsewhere in the thread...

Robin Williams is difinitely NOT patch adams in this one. He's angry, lecherous, rude, and completely insane (and at his comedic best).

The suits did not get a hold of this one. Danny DeVito had final cut. So it's damn good and doesn't chicken out.

Edward Norton is fantastic and from what I saw, has the acting chops to play just about any character he pleases and pull it off seemingly effortlessly.

March 29th at a theatre near you. I'm hoping it does huge $$$ so that studios don't fear making more films like this one.

And yes, Warner Bros. have lost their farking mind and you have to give them props for making this and not another crappy teen shakespearian butcher job.
2002-03-24 01:49:05 AM
Mercutio74: Thanks for the onside poop. Maybe Hollywood can right their ship and regain it's credibility. Taking a chance now and then wouldn't hurt. I'll definitely go see this.
2002-03-24 02:04:13 AM
Generally, to me big name Hollywood movies suck balls. However this one looks really sick and twisted. The website does a fantastic job of replicating retarded weird web pages. I think it is brilliant. Brilliant in the same way that the actors in Mars Attacks did a perfect job of replicating bad b-movie acting.
I will definitely see this in the theater.

And remember, only your friend RAINBOW RANDOLPH knows that friends come in all shapes and sizes, but no goosestepping teletubbiewhore is a friend of mine, friends.

Yo, check out my soundtrack...G

Fing Hysterical.
2002-03-24 02:13:45 AM
LMFAO... all I know is the "Smoochy is a nazi" tag is going to be my wallpaper for a very long time. I'm betting that this film is going to be funny as hell.
2002-03-24 03:23:26 AM
I think the part of Rainbow Randolph would have been even more amusing if played by a nasty, dark, viscious, lecherous, insane Paul Reubens (Pee-Wee Herman).
2002-03-24 03:58:06 AM
I just won tickets to this at an improv show. But I can't go. Goddamn it.
2002-03-24 04:46:54 AM
2002-03-24 05:38:00 AM
Best. Movie website. Ever.

I. Second. That.
2002-03-24 05:39:11 AM
Yeah um, wtf happened there? Crap.
2002-03-24 10:48:52 AM
Wrong. This isn't the best movie website ever. It is, however, the third best.

First is:

And, Second is:

And now I return you to your regularly schedualled programming.
