Let me be the first to say. . . "Nice rack!"

2002-03-23 02:12:26 PM
It's a hard call. Computer nerddom and Star Wars geekdom seemingly go hand in hand.

2002-03-23 02:16:56 PM
What is this - roadies with computers?

2002-03-23 02:18:19 PM
I just saw this in a gang-wars chat I think. It's not how I would mod my stuff, to complex. On the other hand I still would like to have that big arse machine heh.
That and the white monitors hurt the overall theme, and considering it's so easy to paint monitors nowadays (looks at his own)

Clearly, this guy doesn't have to heat his workstation area.

2002-03-23 02:25:46 PM
And yet another reason why people on forums shouldn't use a freakin' image in their signatures. It's hard to get through users heads' (says this mod of a different board.) Enough images with the actual content, now I gotta wait for stupid little vanity images in sigs.

2002-03-23 02:28:52 PM
Wow. My peter's hard. That's neat.

2002-03-23 02:30:39 PM
Disturbing, but suddenly I fing myself searching for where I put that 8 foot rack...

2002-03-23 02:38:08 PM
Gee, he could show it to his girlfriend, or friends at all for that matter, if the bastard had any. :D

2002-03-23 02:44:22 PM
Host...so slowed... gaaahhhh

2002-03-23 02:48:17 PM
Looks like just... too far if you ask me.

2002-03-23 02:49:23 PM
farked.

2002-03-23 02:50:41 PM
Probably needs a seperate power meter and box just for that rack.

2002-03-23 02:52:19 PM
wow

2002-03-23 02:53:09 PM
These guys are a bunch of bona fide losers.

2002-03-23 03:05:23 PM
one has to wonder what this asshat does for a living that he can afford this monstrosity???

2002-03-23 03:13:00 PM
Looking closely, most of the fronts are false, and the "racks" look like they're made of angle- and strap-iron, and covered in cardboard. Total erector-set.

He's probably running a p2-333 in an ATX case hidden behind one of the panels.

2002-03-23 03:18:08 PM
Hey, be nice to those of us with p2-333's in atx cases

2002-03-23 03:20:41 PM
Star Wars geeks, please do us all a favor and never breed.

2002-03-23 03:25:40 PM
Actually, not too impressive. When Montgomery Ward closed a year ago I went to the auction at a couple of their local stores. I spent $76 to buy their ENTIRE network, communications center and PBX. Everyone else was buying displays and fixtures. So I have racks of 3-4 year old hardware in my basement. I would never run it all together because there is no reason to besides leaving permanent impressions in the carpet and stressing the local power grid.

2002-03-23 03:37:49 PM
Totally un-impressed. Look at all this crap and look at his shiatty little monitors. Someone posted a photo a while ago of some insane G4 rig with wrap around style LCD's.

Now that was a rig.

2002-03-23 04:01:47 PM
What the heck?
I think we all know what happened to that 27$ Million of that devoice case went.. :)

2002-03-23 04:02:11 PM
wow.... the losers and the people that love them... thats what star wars is all about i suppose, so naturally thats what youd have to expect

2002-03-23 04:05:48 PM

What are you doing Dave? Daisy, Daisy, give me yyyyooooooouuuurrrrr aaaannnnnnnnsssssssseeeeeeerrrrrrr dddddooooooooo

Okay, I'm a little jealous that he can have a monster rig like that, or at least can afford it. Playing DVD rips and Half Life (mods/whatever) on that thing must kick massive ass.

2002-03-23 04:13:54 PM
If you don't understand it, it must be stupid, right?

Morons.

2002-03-23 04:17:01 PM
Damn. Jashter beat me to it! That was the best part of that thread, if you ask me...

2002-03-23 04:26:30 PM
Geekiest. Casemod. Ever.

(sorry, I had to)

2002-03-23 04:29:07 PM
I wonder if Internet explorer and MS office run better on that than on my 733 PIII computer? Games and graphics I’m sure run better on his system than mine, but I’ll wait a few years and spend around $1000 and get a system that will blow his away from Wal-Mart, instead of the 20+ thousand he spent.

2002-03-23 04:29:56 PM
Jesus, could that load any slower? I felt like I was back in the bad old days of dial-up.

Looks lame. Tiny monitors and the racks look empty - just facades.

2002-03-23 04:38:42 PM
That thing is fake.
look at the bottom monitor..do you see the words:
TANDY

2002-03-23 04:49:32 PM
Looooooooooooooooooooooooser!

2002-03-23 04:53:08 PM
Heh, I wonder if game run better on that than on my X Box...

2002-03-23 04:57:11 PM
Hey, at least if looks cool, that counts for something, right?

"Who is geekier, the geek or the one that envies him?" At least I can sleep being secure in the knowledge that my computer will be running a lot longer than his, I suppose.

2002-03-23 04:57:20 PM
Hey... whatever happened to the tag for this particular situation? My oh my what l33tness envy does to some these days...

2002-03-23 05:02:00 PM
My post was supposed to read " tag". Farking images...

2002-03-23 05:04:17 PM
If I were a Japanese schoolboy, I surmise I would have simultaneously fallen over and had a nosebleed upon seeing this.

2002-03-23 05:07:04 PM
unfunctional mods are for Squids!

2002-03-23 06:10:17 PM
Using the slang word "squid" is for squids.

2002-03-23 06:13:38 PM

mine's bigger..

Whoa. lucky this guy has absolutely NO chance of reproducing...

2002-03-23 06:39:49 PM
Gotta admit. It looks gorgeous. If it was all jamed packed with actual hardware to match it's looks, I'd be a happy boy to own one.

Nice trackball, by the way. Did he steal it from a Unisys Icon?

2002-03-23 06:56:40 PM
I like mine too. A bit simpler, and *all* functional. The computer (with full DV/analog video editing capability) and home theater system are linked via the video router (right rack), and work independently or linked depending on what you want to do. Wanna watch the Laker game on the computer's client monitor? you can. Want to watch a Divx movie/listen to mp3 on the home theater system? you can.

See my homepage in the bio if you're interested in more info. :-)

yay! futurama!!!!

2002-03-23 08:43:55 PM

Oh yeah! Check out my computer, man! Pure Atari Mega2 ST plus not one, but two, yes two Commodore 64 computers. Yeah you're jealous of my awsome computing power. 8mhz with 2 megabytes of memory and a 720K 3.5" floppy disk! And on the other side of the room, behind where I was standing when I took the picture is an Atari 1040ST computer. Let's see Star Wars boy compete with THAT computing power.

What? What do you mean it's not 1986 anymore?

2002-03-23 08:49:25 PM
And a Vectrex, no less!

2002-03-23 08:54:48 PM
Yes, good eye. But can you also spot the Atari 2600 and the Atari Video Pinbal Machine in the picture?
