Democracy is a scam, a fraud, and it failed.
Is it any wonder that the Founding Fathers hated it,
warned against it, and specifically DIDN'T CREATE IT?

Giving us instead a Constitutional republic.
They knew a "Democracy" would degenerate into mob-rule, where the dim (masses) and the scheming (elite who won votes into government power) would soon rig the system for their own private power and wealth.
Hey, isnnt' that the system we have now?

The founding Fathers all hated Democracy, and you STATISTS and SOCIALISTS all love it. What does that say?

linewalker:

Haven't you noticed that it's the elite that's clammoring the most for the removal of income tax? Don't you realize that income tax is used to redistribute wealth?

When I say elite, I mean the ones giving orders to the IRS,
everyone else is simple ass-kissers of this group.

And I do realize that the tax does redistribute wealth,
it redistributes wealth from my pocket to the caviar fund for government fat-cats, and mildly fat beaurocrats.
Soon my wealth will probably be redistributed into your pocket.

God help us.

Capitalist1:

It is impossible to "cheat" the government of taxes. Taxes are
levied at the point of a gun, like a mugging except without recourse to the police because the police are helping the muggers.

That said, he should have known the hammer was going to come down on him. Massa wants his cotton, and massa gonna gets it.

I agree double with NeedleGuy, that post said it all.

Democracy only works until the rabble figures out that it can vote itself publicly-funded bread and circuses. The rabble figured that out during FDR's tenure. It's only a matter of time, ladies and gentlemen, before the United States falls.

If you (Big government lover) are conservative, what's a liberal?

Oh, wait, I get it. You're retarded. Never mind. Move along, nothing to see here...

katalyst-

Yeah that might work except for the fact that the middle and lower classes seem to think that they have a moral and legal right to the money of the wealthy, because getting your own money is too damn difficult: it's much easier to steal from people who did.

No, the middle and lower classes farking do not believe that. A vocal minority does, and the attitudes they have got sympathetic ears because of "mine mine mine!" whine fests from people like, well, you.

This conversation bordered on civil before you goons showed up :P Enjoy the rest of your self-martyring lives, chumps.

They are defining taxes exclusively as income taxes.

Meanwhile there is pretty much no way they have not used or benefited from wildly successful social programs such as the FDIC Rural Electrification and the Interstate Highway program.

Republikkkans are great. They love war. But they don't want to pay the freight. They want to lard up future generations with debt to pay for their illegal wars of aggression.

I hope this mother farker spends the rest of his life in prison.

2005-03-17 09:39:18 AM
Um Yeah, you probably forgot that the Interstate Highway system wasn't for the public's benefit, but for the military's. An army always needs good roads in order to move the troops, and the Interstate Highways were General Eisenhower's idea.

Dude, how do you know that the accused is a Republican? Are you assuming that he is because he's rich? In case you haven't noticed, there are lots of rich Democrats as well, like Alec Baldwin and George Soros.

And the Democrats are responsible for Bush's wars of aggression as well; they didn't vote properly.

I hope this mother farker spends the rest of his life in prison.

Why? Because you think he's a Republican? Think of it this way: by not paying taxes, he refused to contribute to funding Bush's illegal wars of aggression.

"Republikkkans are great."

As a minority Republican, I'd like to take this opportunity to call you an asshat.

Carl Marx: "Democracy GOOD!"
James Madison: "Democracy BAD!"

Whose side are you on?

I'll go with the Founding Fathers:
"Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths." James Madison

The majority of you can line up behind Marx.

With that statement, I am simply illustrating the hipocracy of the ideaology that proclaims to love America, but refuses to give it a dime.

2005-03-17 10:20:09 AM
Bladel, I don't claim to love America. I love only myself, my wife, and my cat. I like my parents, brother, and friends. But America? As a whole, I don't give a damn one way or another about America. I don't give my loyalty to nations, but to certain people.

I agree with jabbathebutt. Talk of a "social contract" is the kind of bullshiat statists resort to when they can't get past the fact that taxation is nothing but legalized theft and that while government limited to protecting life and property is a necessary evil, government that goes beyond the defense of life, liberty, and property is nothing more than a racket at best, and tyranny at worst.

I recognise no "social contract" other than that I will accord to others the rights I demand for myself: the rights to my life, my liberty, my property, and my right to pursue my own happiness so long as I don't trample others' rights in the process.

Nobody has a right to expect me to provide them with anything at my expense, not education, not health care, not food, nothing. Your right to live means that I don't have the right to take your life; it doesn't obligate me to save your sorry ass!

Ah, and what will your customers do when there are no public roads that lead from your store to their homes?

The power of many working as one is many times larger than many people working against each other for selfish scattered goals. You have been conned by the NECRO-CONS to their goals which leaves you enslaved under a FEUDAL TYRANNY.

There is a simple solution for those that don't want to pay taxes.

Move.

Move to a country that doesn't have taxes, renounce your American citizenship (because they will tax you on money you earn outside of the country as well) and live the tax-free life. It's that easy!

Wait, you want to reap the benefits of this country, without contributing to it? Then you're a mooch. You're no better than the welfare queens that are complained about.

No one is forcing you to stay here and pay those "outrageous taxes" that you moan about. It's a free country, and you're free to move out.

Don't worry, fuhfuhfuh: as soon as I make my first ten million I'm going to brush up on my French and move to Monaco.

It all sounds pretty on paper, but if you think this is a viable economic model, you're deluding yourself.

Then you'll find yourself the most alone man in the forest. Getting bored with masturbating your greed-head?

You have nothing to sell that society cannot find elsewhere and they sure as hell are not going to pay for the option to get it from someone like you who obviously will cheat them blind.

as soon as I make my first ten million I'm going to brush up on my French and move to Monaco.

Why wait?

The only thing waiting is going to do is increase your aggrevation, due to all of those taxes you are unjustly paying. Do it now, not later. If your primary concern is yourself, then nothing is stopping you but you and your lofty goals.

Programmer Cat, how are you ever going to make your first $1 million if you spend all day kooking out in Fark threads?

Get back to work, slacker. We need your tax money.

He should have become a citizen of a country with low tax rates - there are plenty of them. Social contract my ass - if I do really well that obligates me to pay for those who can't bother to save or work hard? My only social contract is to not to get in the way of your right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and to pay for the services that we all use. The rest is just theft.

"Forty-Three

You don't even need to fill out a form. You don't even need to leave the country. There's planety of land up here and it's practically free. You can live hundreds of miles from civilization in a cabin on 40 acres like your pioneer ancestors did. If you live the subsistence lifestyle, then you don't have any taxable income (in fact, you get money from the state) No taxes. No government services. A libertarian's paradise.

If you want out, then here's the means. It's easier than you think. Nobody's holding a gun to your head to keep you from running off into the wildernes, so stop complaining.."

Alaska? You're proposing I go to Alaska and build my own log cabin and live there? Alaska, the state at the same latitude as Siberia? We're talking about the same Alaska, right?
