Hollywood is OFFICIALLY out of ideas.

If you don't tell me where the condiments are in less than 3 minutes i'm going to end up very hungry. You are going to gove me the information I need, or your family in Ohio will be killed, starting with your youngest first. It doesn't have to be like this. Give me the Ketchup and this will all stop.

I can't wait for the pee-break episode!

2005-03-15 08:44:20 AM
This show is still on?

2005-03-15 08:47:10 AM
Golf clap indeed... I am getting sick and tired of that show...I hate the way they jerk you around for no reason for the first twelve episode. (Last year's Mexican interlude was the worst display of Filler-Fluff in the history of screenwriting)

The only reason why I watch it is because I have a pool on how many times Jack Bauer will be talking on the phone while driving. (37).

2005-03-15 08:48:05 AM
Not only is it still on, Hood, it's degenerated into even MORE technobabble nonsense.

2005-03-15 08:48:49 AM
That fry vat is gonna blow!!!

EVERYBODY OUT, NOW!NO TIME FOR THE APPLE TURNOVERS!!!

2005-03-15 08:49:35 AM
I used to think this show was great, but I've changed my mind after watching the DVDs. When you can see the episodes back to back you start to see that they use the same "twists" over and over and over. It's like they wrote 4 episodes and then just rehash them in different settings.

Still better than most of what TV has to offer though.

2005-03-15 08:49:52 AM
Good thing. His pointy knees were a little much. He could use a sammich.

2005-03-15 08:50:15 AM
'24' still rocks, its just the last 2 episodes have been filler of sorts. The good news is at least Grayadder got shot.

2005-03-15 08:54:55 AM
Ok, I have a question about the current series of 24 thats been bothering me.

Basically could they not just disconnect the remaining 6 power plants from teh intar-webs in order to fark up the overide machine - ie. it wouldn't be able to connect to the power plants.

No spoilers please!!!!

2005-03-15 08:59:17 AM
Still the best show on T.V.

Not by a long shot. That show premires tonight at 10:00 on FX.

24 was great the first season and gone straight down hill, this season has done nothing but insult my intelligence.

2005-03-15 09:00:29 AM
has,/i> gone oops

(we need to be able to edit our posts dammit)

24 is a shameless old style serial. And by God I love them for it. Still just about the best thing on TV. Yes, it's formulaic. Yes, you have to suspend a lot of disbelief, and yes, you're going to have to put up with the quick-handheld-style-extreme-closeup time and agian. But it's engaging and fun. Gimme more.

Doctor Hooey wins the post.

Cormee
I thought about that too, actually. But I think the general gist of the premise was essentially that they'd be risking something more imminent if they cut off like that.

Of course, I forgive them a bit for the cheesy "Override" plot, considering that I think they're aiming for a 'Debt of Honor' scenario next.

Everyone say goodbye to President Keeler.

2005-03-15 09:03:04 AM
If the last two episodes represent 24s typical mid season lull, then they were great. Much better then Kim and the cougar or Jack and the lunch lady.

GET ME A HACK SAW!!!

2005-03-15 09:03:21 AM
Did you forget who was on the show:

Elisha baby, call me!

2005-03-15 09:04:11 AM
I never saw "24" before this season. I loved the first few episodes, but it keeps getting more and more absurd as the "day" goes on.

I guess the format of the show just requires an EXTREME amount of "suspension of disbelief," but it gets ridiculous.

BTW, my lady and I have renamed the show. It is no longer "24." We call it "Peetpoot," because that's the sound the ticking clock makes before and after the commercials.

Peet...poot...peet...poot...

2005-03-15 09:06:18 AM
"Listen to me," Jack says, grabbing the cashier by the shirt. "I need you to take the pickles off now. There's no time to explain you're going to have to trust me."

OK I'm sorry but that was good stuff. So typical of that ridiculous show.

/Loved the first season
//Got old fast

The only reason why I watch it is because I have a pool on how many times Jack Bauer will be talking on the phone while driving. (37).

substitute 'everybody does raymond' for 'it' and 'loads he takes to the face' for 'times Jack Bauer will be talking on the phone while driving' and it's just as gay. why do people watch things they dislike?

2005-03-15 09:07:41 AM
Never seen the show. Don't like the idea that you have to see every episode in order to understand WTF is going on.

2005-03-15 09:08:32 AM
They should do a season of "24" in which Jack gets food poisoning and spends the entire series vomiting.

2005-03-15 09:09:14 AM
Hercules

Exactly. Another reason why this season isn't as good.

2005-03-15 09:10:56 AM
Please let me, and I am sure other people, know when a SPOILER is coming!!!! This is almost as important as NSFW!!!

2005-03-15 09:12:26 AM
It seems more and more that show is reminding me of General Hospital.

Jack Bauer the new Luke Spencer of Fox.

*but I still love you Kiefer in a completely stalker kind of way. Call me.*

2005-03-15 09:12:35 AM
Here's a spoiler. Jack is laid off in a massive reduction of Federal staffers. Apocalyse ensues.

2005-03-15 09:13:44 AM
FINALLY AN EPISODE THAT ISN'T WRITTEN BY AN ILLITERATE CRACK-ADDICT!

Seriously folks, just reading an episode description of the plot of the "24" episodes makes me puzzle over whether the "Frontal Lobotomy Fairy" is making an aggressive power play upon the innocents of America.

/My opinion of "24" --- Crazy & Stupid. My opinion of the "24" fans naturally is diminished quite a bit,

2005-03-15 09:19:26 AM
I am loving 24 right now - any time Jack Bauer's plan involves getting into a firefight so big that satellites will pick it up, you know it's going to be a good 40 minutes.
It's easy TV, there's no kind of sophistication in there, it's just shooting and explosions. It's let down somewhat by the fact that they seemingly plan only a few episodes ahead. If they sketched out the whole season beforehand, they'd realise how ridiculous it is to have a kidnapping, nuclear disaster, and (assumedly) an assassination attempt in one day.

And they really should schedule some pee time, or at least have a character walking out of the bathroom during the post-advert break recap.

2005-03-15 09:22:38 AM
Make a drinking game out of it. Every time someone gets killed, take a shot! Credited characters get two shots. Some episodes will have you pished in no time at all.

2005-03-15 09:22:38 AM
That show is horrible...I quit watching the first season when the wife got amnesia. Hello! Amnesia!?

2005-03-15 09:23:00 AM
I can't wait! This is gunna bee koo!

2005-03-15 09:23:27 AM
'24' is the best show on television. Period.

Ridiculous at times? Maybe. But what show isn't?

It's television, people...entertainment...doesn't need to model real life.

2005-03-15 09:24:16 AM
The barely sentient cashier fails to enter Jack's order correctly, so the sandwich arrives with pickles anyway. He then tells Jack that the Dr. Pepper spout is broken. "Listen to me," Jack says, grabbing the cashier by the shirt. "I need you to take the pickles off now. There's no time to explain you're going to have to trust me."

Folks, this is the best Bspot is going to get. Engoy it while it lasts.

If everyone just listened to Jack Bauer, the show would be called "12".

I'm just waiting for Hour 23, when we find out that either William Devane or his daughter is the Real Bad Guy.

Same as the last three seasons.

Or when a hawt female changes hands [jacks daughter will get you shiatfaced during season 2]. Or when someone is relieved of command. Or when someone orders Jacks' arrest.

You are incorrect. The sounds before commercials go..

Patink - Patoonk - Patink - Patoonk - Patink - Patoonk

/Loves 24 but I agree this year it has gotten sort of like the middle of last year was. Trust me, the last 4 or 5 episodes will be awesome.

Awesome, awesome.

And they all pee and eat during the commercials. Why do you think they're in pretty much the same places they were "5 minutes" ago?

2005-03-15 09:32:57 AM
I was with the show almost through the entire first season. The lead-ins were great and suspenseful. It got a little strung out, though. After the first 'day' then.. what? It got into the evening, and the president still didn't get shot, or who's doing what now!?

Give me The Shield and Nip/Tuck any day of the week.

2005-03-15 09:34:54 AM
This is the first season I watched 24.

I'm so hooked.
