Why not charge more for movies in high demand, and less for the ones that aren't selling out every night. I'm sure theatres could charge $30 on opening weekend of some movies and they'd still sell out, and then they could lower the price after the first weekend, lower is again after a week, and so on until it was down to whatever amount the theatre determines to the minimum. I would think this kind of system would be fair, provided that it after 2-3 weeks they would get back to "normal", and then 2 or 3 weeks later they would be cheaper.

Heres an example of what I mean using $9.00 as the "normal" price, thats about what I pay (in CND)

..............LOTR......EuroTrip
Opening W/E...$25.......$11
Nest Week.....$18.......$10
3rd week......$13.......$9
4th-6th week..$9........$7
7th & beyond..$7........$5

I just chose 2 movies, ones that was largly hyped/looked-forward to, and one that was "average". I don't watch many movies, so I had trouble coming up with titles, which is why th ones I thought up were about 2 years ago

I think it would be a bit confusing at first, but eventually everyone would get used to having different prices for different movies, just like no one has a problem with different starting times. It would just become something you ask when you call for the times (or more likely, look online for the the times)

Also, I just typed this whole thing then realized that the thread was a day old, so hopefully someone sees this, if not.. oh well.

that chart lined up better in the text box... thats what I get for not previewing (well, I did once, then replaced the spaces with periods, and didn't preview it the second time)
