On the first day of school in Houston, the teacher thought she'd get to know the kids by asking them their name and what their father did for a living. The first little girl said, "My name is Mary and my daddy is a postman." A little boy said, "I'm Andy and my dad is a mechanic."
Another little boy said, "My name is Jimmy and my father is a striptease dancer in a cabaret for gay men." The teacher gasped and quickly changed the subject. Later, in the school yard she approached Jimmy privately and asked if it
was really true that his dad danced nude in a gay bar. Jimmy blushed and said, "No, it's not true. Really my dad is an auditor for Arthur Andersen, but I was just too embarrassed to say so."

Know who's a pervert? The guy on the DirecTV DSL commercial. I don't know if you have the commercials where you live, but it's basically this. The guy gets on the internet..and he's looking at sites...then some voice comes on and tells him he's reached the end of the internet and has seen all that there is to see. The commercial plays it off innocently...but if you think about it...what a pervert!! Think of all the stuff he's looked at...Dogs crapping on people and things like that....it's farking disgusting...i know this doesn't have to do with this discussion at all..but...thought people would like to know

And I thought the state government telling Taco Bell they couldn't buy napkins from my company was stupid just because I don't use recycled paper...

That headline isn't obvious.

Is it just me or does this headline make it sound like Arthur Anderson is just one guy?

If the casinos are stupid enough to want to use them, that is their right

2002-03-19 03:09:55 PM
Next thing you know they'll be saying that the casinos shouldn't have the Gambinos pick up their garbage... Everyone needs to put food on the table...

Arthur Andersen spokesman Patrick Dorton said the company has done quality work for the casino industry and would be happy to answer any questions from state officials.
"You'll just have to ask loudly. We've got these shredders ice cream makers going overtime."

Far be it for me to defend Arthur Anderson, however, an indictment is not a conviction. Shouldn't the goombahs in Joisey wait to bar them until the are convicted? The feds are using the shotgun method on these folks: Fire a shell into the bush and see what flies out. So a conviction is not a foregone conclusion if they can pin this on individuals. Further, it's a one count indictment, which makes it that much easier to beat.

Was Anderson wrong? You betcha. Were they involved in a criminal act? Pretty damn likely. Can it be proven? Don't hold your breath.

Wasn't there someting about "innocent until proven guilty" in the Constitution or has Ashhole had that removed too?

fark Arthur Andersen. They didn't do their job for enron, they didn't do their job for the Baptist Foundation of Arizona (although farking up that one makes me giggle), now the farking mob doesn't even trust them. I too believe in innocent until proven guilty, but they've already been proven guilty 2 times, so anyone wanting to drop them like a bad habit should be more than justified.

I have no opinion on Arthur Andersen, but I just wanted to say that was a funny idea for a headline.
