I still have no idea what the hell this is.

2002-03-18 02:00:32 PM
Its farking funny - that's what it is.

2002-03-18 02:00:46 PM
maybe b/c I have no sound card at work.

2002-03-18 02:00:56 PM
Well I definitely know that it isn't very funny. There are a few good ones, but for the most part, it makes me wonder who is wasting their time putting this shiat together.

2002-03-18 02:01:14 PM
Funny.

2002-03-18 02:01:34 PM
I never have and never will understand this crap!

2002-03-18 02:02:01 PM
I am going to say that this is not funny and I don't get it just to piss people off. Some people get all offended and indignant when you criticize strongbad email.

2002-03-18 02:02:23 PM
Can someone post it verbatim for me?
Puuuuuullllleeeaaaasssseee???

ahh, I didn't think so.

2002-03-18 02:03:19 PM
you have to know and care about the homestar family to really appreciate most of the new material on the site.
its funny just not internetfunny.

2002-03-18 02:03:55 PM
It almost needs subtitles.

2002-03-18 02:04:49 PM

StrongBad can eat my ass, it sucks. I know you will all ask why I watch it if I hate it. Well, because I love to post how much I hate it every week and then see how mad everyone gets!!

2002-03-18 02:09:07 PM
I think I'd rather gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon than watch that again.

Would that I could turn back time and stab myself with an icicle to stop past-me from inflicting Strong Bad on future-me.

Craptacular.

2002-03-18 02:10:15 PM
Why do these keep getting posted? This is some lame stuff.

2002-03-18 02:10:33 PM
Wow, that really kinda sucked.

Of course.. The first Strong Bad e-mail I ever saw was "The Basics", which is just about the funniest one there, so perhaps I'm spoiled.

2002-03-18 02:11:55 PM
not as good as some of the other ones

2002-03-18 02:16:12 PM
that one was really lame

most of the others are awesome

Agent50
No thank you. I will not eat your ass. That is just mean.

2002-03-18 02:18:37 PM
this one was new.. not as funny as the others. yea. Lame about. it started off good. Until that scary white "thing" showed up.. then it was down hill from there.

2002-03-18 02:23:57 PM
This is courtesy of my friend WingZero, his account is in process:

I'm not a smart man, so I can attest that this isn't humor for the dumb. In fact, it seems as though this isn't even humor. I think you'd have to do marijuana or something to make it funny. Nope, that didn't make it funny either. Maybe it's funny in Afghanistan. USA-GI: "Laugh or we kill you" Afghani: "No is funny, soldier boy". Anyhow, back to work.

2002-03-18 02:25:09 PM
This guy is doing his thing, free of charge, for you. It could be said he's an artist and he's sharing his unique vision. Or it could be said he's masturbating.

Buyer beware, but at least you didn't spend anything. Either way, you have no claims on a refund, and you sound like an idiot when you complain about that.

Next.

2002-03-18 02:25:27 PM
Man, you guys are fast (or there are a lot of you). I was about to post, "Let the whining begin", but there were already 21 posts!

2002-03-18 02:30:25 PM
Parallax:

He was masturbating!!!

2002-03-18 02:31:10 PM
I got some in my eye. But that's beside the point!

2002-03-18 02:31:45 PM
Timothy: I, too, was bracing myself.

"What makes StrongBad funny?" they ask in so many ways, and we who appreciate the humour can only answer in the way that the tweens in Apple Jack commercials answer:

He just is. We watch what we like.

2002-03-18 02:32:12 PM
That was pretty funny. I tried doing stand-up at an open mike night -- once. Let me tell you, I can identify with this latest Strong Bad.

Incidentally, that "white guy" is Strong Sad, Strong Bad's depressed brother.

2002-03-18 02:36:52 PM
I love the whole 80's culture happening in here. The star-shaped Apple logo. The Videotronic VCR (great Flash effects of poor tracking in the video, by the way). The whole Tandy thing. Even Strong Bad looks like Tranzor-Z or something.

I want to get drunk with this guy at a Plastica show.

2002-03-18 02:42:52 PM
I admit this is both the first and last time i will ever be clicking on a 'Strongbad' link of any sort.

To paraphrase: "Where be the funney up in this link, son?"

2002-03-18 02:47:05 PM
i love strongbad. how can you not find that funny?

check out some of the other flash animations on Homestar Runner and strongbad's emails might have some extra humor value.

2002-03-18 02:49:17 PM
This is funny in the same way it is funny when a retard gets on stage and tries to be funny.

2002-03-18 02:53:37 PM
Farkeater: You really don't get it, do you? Don't you get how funny it is that a person presenting himself as funny shows that he was once incredibly unfunny because he was trying to be funny?

It's funny that you don't get that.

2002-03-18 02:56:31 PM
Enter:

"Come with me."

2002-03-18 03:00:23 PM
booooooring

2002-03-18 03:15:33 PM
Repeat after me: Strongbad is funny.

Strongbad is funny. Strongbad is funny. Strongbad is funny.

And maybe if we get enough people to say it enough times, it might actually become true someday.

2002-03-18 03:21:38 PM
I have to agree with a few people here.

TheProletariat: "The Basics" is the best strongbad e-mail ever. If anyone doubts the genious of strongband, check that one out.

Boppsta: You are right. You just have to get to know them as a family. That is the only way to fully appreciate the humor.

There are so many entertaining things on that site. Too many to mention. But, if you have learned all of the characters - the answering machines have the most entertainment value for the money. (Especialy the ones in the "Secret Area")

2002-03-18 03:24:09 PM
I find these to be quick funny animations. Well done and put together...and you can write him an e-mail that may get on the screen.

I thought the whole stand up thing was gonna be a jerry seinfeldish impersonation though....

2002-03-18 03:30:40 PM
not too funny, but I keep going back.... hoping

2002-03-18 03:40:22 PM
Once again, I must register my love for this site.

The humor of the site is intended to be family friendly, while at the same time having a certain appeal to children of the 80's who can appreciate the subtle references. (According to the creators of the site.)

The source of the humor is not so much the jokes themselves, but the attitude of the characters. Strongbad thinks he is the ultimate Super Villain, but really he's just posturing and isn't capable of doing anything more dasterdly than calling you a crappy guy and ringing your dorbell and running; that is why he's funny. It's really subtle, but that's why it works, and that's why I like it.

2002-03-18 03:40:28 PM
Short.

2002-03-18 03:44:41 PM
Duck Pond is the best.

C'mere ducky.

2002-03-18 03:47:31 PM
Agree with Soporific, it is a different kind of humor. Makes me look foward to Mondays. SB's voice reminds me of Cheech and Chong, and their shenanigans.

2002-03-18 03:55:50 PM
Soporific: Good analysis.

2002-03-18 04:06:16 PM
Agent50:

Tell you friend Strong Bad and I will be "doing" marijuana and having a crapfully good time without you. Gee willickers!

2002-03-18 04:07:57 PM
I would thoroughly enjoy a dance contest between Strong Bad, the guy who announced his entrance at the talent show, and Disco Stu.

Walk away, not today, Disco Laaaaady.

2002-03-18 05:03:42 PM
MrJesus:I would thoroughly enjoy a dance contest between Strong Bad, the guy who announced his entrance at the talent show, and Disco Stu.

The song for the contest will be Dance Dance Revolution's "Tokyo All Ready". That song is freaky.

2002-03-18 05:59:18 PM
Hurrah for Strong Sad!

2002-03-18 06:08:42 PM
Wait, is "Strong Bad" supposed to be the enemy wrestler from Pro Wrestling for the NES?

ex.
WINNER!
THE STRONG BADS

2002-03-18 06:36:52 PM
And speaking of flash, WHEN IS FARKMAN #5 COMING OUT

2002-03-18 07:31:38 PM
I *really* wanted to like it this time.

...

maybe next time.
