thanks.

2005-02-21 10:25:20 PM
Is it called "Jamster?"

2005-02-21 10:27:37 PM
If it involves rendering people who talk on their cell phones while driving impotent in any way, I'm all for it.

2005-02-21 10:28:06 PM
Does this look infected to you now? Good!

2005-02-21 10:29:45 PM
Misleading headline. It affects Smartphones, which have numerous computer-like functions and apps. Your little Samsung is safe. I just bought a Palm Treo Smartphone, though. *gulp*

2005-02-21 10:31:25 PM
My battery is always dead anyway....no threat here.

2005-02-21 10:31:28 PM
correct. if you have enough bluetooth, your in trouble.

2005-02-21 10:31:40 PM
I knew I wasn't protected enough with my MS-Phone software.

2005-02-21 10:32:14 PM
I think this is old news; there was a followup green-lit last week talking about this virus as it relates to Lexus cars.

2005-02-21 10:34:39 PM
I'm glad to have a cellphone that is, you know, just a cellphone. Why does it need to be an mp3 player, a PIM, a fax machine, a dishwasher, and a jackhammer I never figured out.

2005-02-21 10:36:56 PM
I was wondering why my cellphone's litte nose was running.

2005-02-21 10:38:09 PM
There was a virus found months ago.
Sorry, but I think this headline is inaccurate.

2005-02-21 10:41:03 PM
*does the happy cellphone free dance*

2005-02-21 10:42:29 PM
If you own a basic cell phone then you have no problem. When you add all the bells and whistles you might have a problem.

/Always get's the basic cell phone
//on 2nd one
///too many /'s

2005-02-21 10:42:58 PM
Welcome to last year--when they were found.

2005-02-21 10:51:24 PM
when a passing techie spotted a telltale sign on the screen of a phone in the store.

Well, hey. Thanks for having a picture of said problem or telling me about what it looks like there, CNN.
Instead I get the top 5 hottest searches that include George Bush and Paris Hilton in the same list.
Now I'm WAAAAY past depressed.

2005-02-21 10:52:03 PM
if you build it.......they will hack...

2005-02-21 11:45:23 PM

2005-02-22 12:02:38 AM
Q: Is this the same virus that infected Paris Hilton?

A: No. That's probably herpes.

2005-02-22 12:55:14 AM
You know, we all make our jokes about this, but this is pretty serious stuff and can do irreparable damage -- the virus can automatically call everyone in your phonebook and play them a Creed ringtone.

2005-02-22 01:22:56 AM
Peaceboy:

the virus can automatically call everyone in your phonebook and play them a Creed ringtone.

So this virus causes death to friends of the host?

2005-02-22 01:26:06 AM
It causes people to have accidents while driving and talking on a cell phone. It's been around for awhile now.

/betcha it has to do with microsoft at some point...

2005-02-22 01:35:21 AM
From lightdarkness's link:

Which make the point how user has to answer
yes several times
to get infected by Cabir after it has arrived on the phone, and thus it is impossible to get infected by accident

BE AFRAID!

2005-02-22 03:50:59 AM
Do you like Creed?
YES.

Is this a penis extension / ego booster?
YES.

Are you a pathetic waste of space?
YES.

Enjoy!

2005-02-22 03:52:35 AM
i hope apple starts making cell phones so i can sit back and laugh :-)

2005-02-22 03:55:33 AM
Serves people right that need fifty million applications on there phone. It is a phone, it is for talking, not for taking low res photos that you think are funny.

2005-02-22 04:00:50 AM
Please please please make it disable all ringtones.

2005-02-22 04:03:46 AM
THe virus goes something like this:

Bading ding ding ding ding bwaaa bwaaa ding ding brrrraaaaaa AAAAHHHH WAAAAHHH!!!!

and has a penis.

2005-02-22 04:04:14 AM
Is my Nokia 6800 safe? I don't believe it has Bluetooth technology....and none of Paris' pictures have shown up on it yet.

2005-02-22 04:04:43 AM

2005-02-22 04:04:44 AM

2005-02-22 04:05:24 AM
Anything or anyone that messes with my Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind 5-note ringtone will pay dearly!!!

2005-02-22 04:14:19 AM

2005-02-22 04:16:30 AM
There are too many idiots out there who blindly hate cell phones because they fear change who are going to write viruses like hell for cell phones. It's a messy future.

2005-02-22 04:16:35 AM
It's amazing how applicable that Shaq picture is to everything.

2005-02-22 04:17:56 AM
I've got your cell phone virus -- IN MY PANTS!

2005-02-22 04:20:12 AM
Soon to come:

Norton Antivirus 2005, Cell Phone Edition.

2005-02-22 04:21:10 AM
Let's see if that virus can take on my five year old Siemens A36. It used to be unprotected, but now its bound together with a rubber band: take that!

2005-02-22 04:21:59 AM
idowackus
Not sure what's worse - Norton Antivirus, or a virus.

2005-02-22 04:22:44 AM
SAD... or OBVIOUS!!!

2005-02-22 04:24:00 AM
so, when are we gonna be able to reformat cell phones with a network cord???

2005-02-22 04:26:18 AM
first the viruses... then the porn popups, then the endless amounts of spyware!

Then more porn popups!

2005-02-22 04:27:50 AM

Hypponen said Cabir was found on Monday in a technology gadgets store in Santa Monica, California, when a passing techie spotted a telltale sign on the screen of a phone in the store.

Thanks for the details asshat. It's good to know that there is a telltale sign, it would be even better to know what it is!

2005-02-22 04:28:35 AM
Oh, You'll know.

You WILL know.

2005-02-22 04:45:24 AM
Karate Explosion:

It's good to know that there is a telltale sign, it would be even better to know what it is!

2005-02-22 04:52:32 AM

2005-02-22 04:58:34 AM

2005-02-22 05:08:53 AM

2005-02-22 05:39:02 AM
This virus only affects smart phones (like those running Windows Mobile/Symbian OS)

95% of people don't use those type of phones.
