Score A Big One For The Good Guys!!!
"Pizza Man Dispenses Own "Frontier Justice""
By Johnathan Parker
Star-Tribune Staff writer

Danville - A danville man who attempted to rob a pizza delivery man, but was shot by the worker, was sentenced in Danville Circuit Court on Thursday.

Kenneth Lamont Clayborne, 18, of Levelton Street, was found guilty of robbery ane use of a firearm in a felony.

According to Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney James Reynolds, James lester was delivering a pizza at Buford Street when he was approched by two men, who demanded his money on Sept, 2, 2001.

"The defendent put a gun to Lesters head and demanded more money even after money had been given to him," said Renolds. "He finally took the victims fanny pack and the pizzas that Lester had left to deliver."

As Lester gave Clayborne the pizzas, he pulled his own gun and shot Clayborne several times, the prosecutor said.

"Clayborne was hit and fell to the ground and Lester got out and administered first aid untill police arrived," said Renolds.

At Clayborne's sentencing, his attorney, Ronald Williams of Danville, said Clayborne has already been punished for the crime after he was shot six times.

"He had no intention of shooting the pizza man. He was intemidating him," said Williams.

"What he did was run up on a man with a Glock, which is a horse of a gun," the attorney added, "and he got shot."

"What he is enduring is going to to be a constant reminder."

Renolds said Lester was robbed while tring to make a living.

"He put a gun to his head, and threatened to kill him, and demanded money." said Renyolds.

"He (Lester) had the opportunity to train his own personal weapon on the defendant," the prosecutor said. "Mr. Lester got a little frontier justice."

Reynolds said the court has a duty to protect the citizens of Danville.

"A message needs to be sent that dangerous armed robbers are going to the penitentiary," he said.

Judge Joe Milam sentenced Clayborne to 21 years in jail, with all but seven years suspended.

Perfect example of a person doing the right thing! Take Mr Lesters example folks, its text book perfect.

Greed will ruin you....

Say that headline aloud three times fast... bet you'll look retarded!

BTW, I'm not a pro-gun nut, but this is a great example of a person using a gun properly to defend himself. If only could keep retards, felons, and kids away from them.

I deliver in the summertime, and let me just people are a bunch of fu.ckholes when it comes to paying for the shiat they get delivered. Robbery is a constant threat, city or rural. I think that punk got what he deserves. Technically as a driver I wasn't supposed to pack heat, but I know a lot of people who did. I could never carry a gun, I'd want to pop the customers.

2002-03-16 08:32:15 PM
Don't mess with Pizza Man.

2002-03-16 08:34:02 PM
I am horrified at the story and most disappointed at you FARKERS. Guns are nothing but bad news for everyone. Violience begets violence. I seriously think that the pizza delivery person should be charged with attempted murder -- just like that Bernard Getz guy in New York. I would venture to guess that his attackers (read victims) were poor and oppressed people who were simply trying to make a living and not intending to hurt anyone -- just like the folks who were unfortunate enough to catch the rath of Bernie Getz. Since England has outlawed guns, crime has plummeted. America will HAVE to do the same in order to survive, or America will wind up just as the victims of the pizza delivery man did.

2002-03-16 08:34:18 PM
I bet the next time someone robs a pizza guy in Danville they'll just shoot him first. And remember kids, when guns are outlawed only outlaws will shoot their kids accidently.

More likely, the next guy will be wondering whether it's worth his life to attempt to rob a pizza man. There's a reason that the bad guys in Florida go after tourists: the locals might be armed.

2002-03-16 08:40:31 PM
Violience (sic) begets violence.

Damn straight. Some mofarka sticks a gun in my face, you betta beLIEVE I'm gonna do my damndest to cap him before he caps me.

Bi-yatch.

WEEE! Pizza men with guns! Sounds like the new hit game. Could even make a pizza DM with a meelee pizza cutter, pizza thrower, and hand gun! Seriously tohugh, nice to see somebody kick a criminals ass and get away with it scott free, not to mention the criminal got a nicely built sentance for just stealing pizzas...

The various spelling errors in the article makes me think this is a fake.

2002-03-16 08:42:40 PM
Yeah, violence begets violence.

This criminal tried to be violent. And he got shot.

Therefore, its not the pizza guy's violence begetting the punk's violence. Figure it out.

And if crime has plummeted in the UK... why are they considering arming their cops?

Can't find any listing of it as a hoax. guess it's real.

Suprised the NRA isn't making more of this. It's pretty unusual for a gun-owner to come out on top (or even alive) in these situations.

This smells worse than a three-day old fish.

Unless the original poster retyped an article in--and badly--am I supposed to believe a newspaper ran an article with mis-capitalizations, misspelling the names of various characters in the article (the prosecutor is "Reynolds"? Oh, wait, it's "Renolds"), and such howler typos as "intemidating".

No state is given, nor the full name of the newspaper. I'm hearing a troll.

2002-03-16 08:49:12 PM
I know what you're thinking, punk. You're thinking, did he fire six shots or only five? Well to tell you the truth, I forgot myself in all this excitement. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and will blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question: do I feel lucky? Well do ya, punk?

2002-03-16 08:52:57 PM
yes, but were the bullets delivered in 30 minutes or less?

2002-03-16 08:54:30 PM
Suprised the NRA isn't making more of this. It's pretty unusual for a gun-owner to come out on top (or even alive) in these situations.

The NRA lists several of these incidents each month in its magazine, under the "Armed Citizen" section. Here's a few from Feb 2002:

An East Hartford, Conn., pawn shop employee shot and killed one of two masked men when they attempted to rob the store. Bill Kane was working in the rear of Tom's Pawn Shop about 5:30 one Tuesday evening when two masked men armed with metal pipes entered the store. Kane's coworker, Ralph Lane, was working at a jewelry bench at the front of the store when the men came in and began swinging the pipes and demanding that the safe be opened. When one robber hit Lane, he pressed an alarm button that summoned police. The second robber headed toward the back of the store. Kane warned the approaching miscreant that he was armed, but the man continued toward him with a metal pipe. Kane then drew his .380-cal. handgun and shot the robber. Upon hearing the shots, the robber's cohort fled the scene. (The Hartford Courant, Hartford, Conn., 11/21/01)

********

A West Side Chicago resident shot and killed an intruder in his home when the man stormed into his bedroom and demanded to see a part of his wife's anatomy. Curtis Reed kicked open the basement door of the apartment building and ran up the back stairs directly into the couple's bedroom. "He said to the woman, 'show me your ... ,' and at that point, the husband fired," said Area 4 Violent Crimes Detective Mike Miller. Reed did not appear to have stolen anything from the home, Miller reported. (Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago, Ill., 11/23/01)

********

When Virginia Delaney returned home from shopping, she noticed some things out of place: A bedroom fan was turned around, and her VCR was nearly pulled out of the entertainment center. Delaney then picked up her shotgun and searched the house. Upon discovering an interloper in the laundry room, she escorted him to her bedroom and made him empty his pockets. The would-be burglar complied, handing over a cell phone, a pack of cigarettes and four pennies. Delaney allowed the intruder to leave, and he walked across the street to his house. Delaney then phoned police and reported her neighbor, whom police later arrested. (The Daily Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, Okla., 12/04/01)

********

An Elsmere, Ky., man was shot and killed by a clerk after he tried to rob a Covington, Ky., convenience store. The crook, Perry Pinkelton, had brandished a handgun and demanded money from a store clerk, reported Covington Police Capt. Charles Gurren. When another store employee, armed with a handgun, confronted him, the robber fired his gun three times, but missed. The armed employee returned fire, shooting the robber several times. A neighbor later reported that, "Two weeks ago, someone put a gun in [the owner's] face and robbed him." (The Cincinnati Enquirer, Cincinnati, Ohio, 11/13/01)

As you can see, it's not at all unusual for a gun owner to come out ahead.

2002-03-16 08:56:15 PM
Hmmm... 6 times guys? thats a little excessive. If he had shot him once or twice, id have agreed that was a good example of self defense. And i doubt the robber would have been able to do anything. but 6?!?! it sounds like the pizza man got a little gleam in his eyes as he pulled the trigger a few times more then neccasary...

So we should just stand and smile as we're vicitmized, right? I mean, if ya smile real pleasant, maybe the thug will feel bad and go away? What a jag-off...

2002-03-16 08:58:22 PM
Alright, now give me cases where the Gun owner DIDN'T come out ahead. And statistics. How many times does this happen? How many times does the gunowner get shot instead?
Stories don't prove a whole lot... these are people that DID manage to get out ahead. I'm not really taking one side or the other, I just like getting facts straight.
On a side note, I do believe that the gun industry has NO REASON to be making automatic weapons (and making modifications to get around the laws).

2002-03-16 08:58:45 PM
I hate guns, I've always hated guns, and I think that society as a whole would be much better if guns weren't so available.

That said, since guns ARE available, I'm glad the punks got what they deserved. Fark 'em.

mask--

the robber got capped 6 times and lived. i would imagine that perhaps shooting somebody one or two time wouldn't necessarily be enough to stop them.

if you're gonna put somebody down, pull that trigger again and again and again until you run out of bullets. Remember kids, anything worth doing is worth doing right...

2002-03-16 09:18:17 PM
Meanwhile, about 10,000 other people were shot and we haven't come up with a reason why they deserved it yet.

I read some thing somewhere that said that when folks are pushed to the point of actually pulling the trigger that they rarely only pull the trigger once. I don't know if there's anything to it though, I've never shot anyone.

2002-03-16 09:36:54 PM
For those wondering about the origin of this story:

Well, there is a "Star-Tribune" newspaper in Chatham, Virginia (a Commonwealth, by the way), which is about 16 miles north of a town called Danville.

So I'd suspect that's where this story is from.

You're on the internet, people. If you want to verify something, try looking shiat up. Lazy farkers.

Self Defense is a HUMAN RIGHT, not a privilage of the social elite.
I am pleased to see so many positive posts supporting the actions of the Pizzaman... even coming from those that don't "Believe in Guns".
Red99 - Your post has got to be the most ignorant spew I have read all month. I suggest that you goto the following website and do some serious reading.

Fiberals are so far removed from reality it's easy to see how they would have no understanding of the human nervous system as well.

Having your life threatened isn't the same as a day at the shooting range. You don't calmly decide, "Hmm, I'll fire two shots, then wait to see if the assailant drops."

But what's "life" mean to a moral relativist anyway--a fool who thinks decent folk are no better than scum?

If the pizza guy had been killed the blurb wouldn't have made the BACK page of the paper.

To the troll telling lies about England's crime rate plummeting after the gun ban: yeah, that's why the cops over there now carry guns and wear bulletproof vests. for jaywalkers. a-hole.
