I thought I was cool when I got 11 in the back of a pickup

This is horrible, slavery didn't die in the Civil War, we just moved our source!
2002-03-16 03:33:56 PM
Duh, 41 people because thats how people and stuff over in SAHUARITA and places. They pack everything they have into a truck and off the whole village goes..
Well thats what it looks like on TV.
2002-03-16 03:41:21 PM
I'm still trying to contemplate what 41 people in a "1980s-model Ford extended cab with a camper shell" looks like. No small feat I imagine.

If I could see a diagram, that might be helpful too.
2002-03-16 03:42:05 PM
Leave it to the mexicans.

Another truck rolled on I-19 yesterday morning. The head count was lower ("only" 20 on board), but the death toll was higher (1).

America. We're so good, people are dying to get in.

There were infants in the truck....infants.
If you are fleeing the Nazis or Khmer Rouge, I can see taking this chance, but packing your infant like this...doesn't seem to be the most responsible parenting technique.

Its kind of funny to me. Not that these people were hurt or anything, just because they tried shoving so many people on. Sometimes i'll see them pull up at a gas station or store, and the usual 4 or so people come out of the car, but then magically they just keep popping out, sometimes 8 or 10. Its farking hilarious.

41 people....hmmmm
2002-03-16 03:54:04 PM
.. just like the clown car at the circus.
2002-03-16 03:55:00 PM
I live 15 miles north of Sahuarita; we see this sort of thing all the time. Usually a van, or U-Haul truck, though. There are always heat deaths over the summer from illegals walking across the open desert to get in.
2002-03-16 03:55:44 PM
to make a bad joke or to revive one how many were in the ashtray?
2002-03-16 03:56:09 PM
Were those Firestone tires on that truck? I think we have big time lawsuit material here....
2002-03-16 03:57:13 PM
Could we get some more funny stories? Please?

LOL, Nanobyte...
I think I got stuck behind that truck on my way home from work last night.
2002-03-16 04:09:39 PM
And Mexico surrenders...
2002-03-16 04:14:22 PM
sounds like a story for bus plunge
2002-03-16 04:19:52 PM
Only 41 in a truck from Mexico? Sounds like it was a bit underloaded. I'm sure they could have packed them in a little tighter.
2002-03-16 04:28:44 PM

chase them trying to keep them out of the country. then they wreck. get flown to an american hospital. get the best medical treatment available in the world. i'll mail my 300/month insurance check tomorrow. and my taxes in april.

i love paying for shiat like this.

300 foot wide moat between us and mexico (we did build the panama canal). fill with starving saltwater crocs. big farkers too, with laser beams attached to their frickin heads.

2002-03-16 04:50:31 PM
Wow! I didn't realize the Panama Canal was between Mexico and the US...
I guess you learn something everyday!

If we repeal all of the labor laws, they won't want to come here. That'll teach 'em.
2002-03-16 05:02:09 PM
ok so I read it wrong... sue me
2002-03-16 05:29:00 PM

That'll keep them out.
2002-03-16 05:34:47 PM
Just put up a huge sign that says:

Then they'll think they missed it, head south, find out they're back home, head north, get to 'Canada' again, head south etc. Hilarity ensues..
2002-03-16 05:36:05 PM
Reed said most of the people were in the bed of the truck, a 1980s-model Ford extended cab with a camper shell.

Nooo, I thought they'd all fit in the cab. Sheesh.
2002-03-16 06:26:40 PM
Re-appeal labor laws? Most of the jobs people do is something americans would refuse to work anyway. As far as tax dollars go I think more of it is being spent on lazy americans on welfare than illegal immigrants.
2002-03-16 06:58:00 PM
If all the immigrants are turned away, who's gonna pick the strawberries for 75 cents an hour? You?
2002-03-16 07:02:01 PM
Just to think, your first experience in America is finding out what the hospital food is like. Yikes.
2002-03-16 07:29:32 PM
FU.CK EM......

Ford hires all 41 people to endorse their trucks.

"Remember when you heard about that truck that crashed while carrying 41 people? That was us. We all had plenty of legroom. We'd never think of trying that in a Chevy!"
2002-03-16 08:06:48 PM
I doubt americans would begin to pick their own strawberries. I think we'd starve cause I sure ain't doing it.
2002-03-16 08:21:41 PM
I won't be really impressed until I see 'em do it with a 1960's Volkswagon Beetle.
2002-03-16 08:31:30 PM
I'd pick my own strawberries...hell I can pick out my own cantaloupe up here too. Gotta love Indiana for SOME things. Open fields and farmer's markets. :)
2002-03-16 08:35:58 PM
Who would pick strawberries for $.75 per hour? No one, that's who.

But that wouldn't mean there would be no strawberries. They'd just find someone who'd do it for minimum wage, and then the price in the store would be like $1.49 a pound instead of the 79 cents you're used to. That's all. So stop blowing things out of proportion.

You think third-world immigrants coming here in masses is good because they're a source of cheap labor? I guess you assume that they impose zero social cost on to the society where they choose to settle?

Where do you think they go after work? Or what do we do when they start to have kids? They integrate into our society in the border cities, and beyond, then they start to drag on the system.

How much do you think it costs to implement bilingual education in schools. What about the social costs? Police, fire, sanitation, and the other services they consume? What about when they get in a car with no insurance or license and plow into you on the highway?

Here in Phoenix, about one quarter of the metro area has been "given up" to this class, who take great pride in preserving their culture and making it as much like Mexico as possible. That means farm animals, open air street markets, sewage and trash in the yard, using automobiles until they practically turn to dust, then planting fauna in them when they die.

Of course, if gives me great pride to know that my paycheck deductions and taxes are going into a fund to pay welfare, WIC, social security, and medicare entitlements to people who have been in this country less than three years, and who probably will never work enough to contribute back to society what they took out of it.

All so you can save a half-buck on strawberries.

Hope you enjoy 'em !

believe it or not, i have heard of similair crashes. I live in south texas and illegal immigrants are not that uncommon. This guy i know is in the volunteer fire dept. and he saw one of these crashes himself, he said the people were just piled in the car.

wow i make lots of typos dont i?
2002-03-16 08:58:35 PM
Hey, Mailnride, You try and find strawberries for .79 a pound. Just try.
They're like .99 a PINT- when they go on sale during ripe season. Usually they're 1.50-2.99/ pint.
Just thought I'd correct something!
