ok, I figure since most people will start saying stuff about the LPT and how Lincoln Park stinks, move it to Wrigleyville. The next thing is to figure out what time everyone wants to show up?

2005-02-16 08:48:31 PM
god damn it, I meant March 11th too

2005-02-16 08:53:04 PM
Dang March 11th is the day I already have off of work. This one might be a possiblity.

2005-02-16 08:54:47 PM
I'll be there.

2005-02-16 08:55:04 PM
So it's the JB in LP right? JUST KIDDING. I know there's a JB on Clark Street. Yes, I'll be there. Jeez.

/JB in LP afficionado.

how much does it cost to get like an admin to the party or famous moderator so I know people will show up? ;-P

Lincoln Park rocks, whoever says it doesn't doesn't know what they're talking about

For fixing the headline, sure and it's March 11th

2005-02-16 09:22:32 PM
I must of popped into some sort of time warp to see the incorrect headline.

2005-02-16 09:22:58 PM
eh, I will think about it.

2005-02-16 09:26:06 PM
I'm in.

Kelbel: I must of popped into some sort of time warp to see the incorrect headline.

When I was typing the headline the brain was thinking March but the hands typed May and HPZ fixed it for me and now I owe him a beer

As you can see I responded first to the March 11th it wasn't until HPZ said he fixed the headline that I actually saw the May 11th. I was bummed when I first thought it was changed to May but rejoiced when it turned out to be March.

We hold a Fark party 2 blocks from my house...and I'm stuck in Florida on trial (working it, not the subject thereof).

Enjoy, everyone (and if it's a Saturday, be sure to head over to the Twisted Spoke at Clark/Roscoe for Smut n' Eggs -- late-night breakfast food and porn on the TVs)

2005-02-16 09:44:01 PM
Lincoln Park, Wrigleyville, whatever...... John Barleycorn sucks.
/I'm in.

Yeah, sorry about the headline thing. I ended up switching it back to May after it'd already been fixed to March, but then got a clue and switched it back. So basically, even though I fixed what I broke, I did fix it. So you still owe me a beer.

OMG BleacherBoy is hawt!!

Ok I won't be there, I will be in Florida stalking BleacherBoy

I'll go if I can work out a place to crash. I'll figure something out. Carlos D of Interpol is going to be at the Metro that night so there's more incentive. Fun fun.

2005-02-16 10:12:24 PM
naskar and HPZ I will buy you both a beer if I can get there. It looks almost like a sure thing.

2005-02-16 10:38:48 PM
what sounds better for you guys something like 7pm or something later like 9pm?

2005-02-16 10:52:26 PM
John Barlycorn sucks ass. There will most likely be some sort of game that day and that place gets shoulder to shoulder with monkeys. You guys should pick a place where everyone can talk to each other and hang out.

The way I see it is that no matter what place is chosen, someone is always going to biatch about it and March Madness isn't until the 17th so we're in the clear

Come on down, Alice - I have a room at the Ritz in Palm Beach that is going sorely unused as I'm trapped in the office 15 hours/day.

I may be too wiped out to look "hawt" by the time I get back to the room -- but if my admiration and identity with many of your TF posts are any indication, we'll have great conversations!

2005-02-16 11:40:14 PM
I will do my best to make it. Dificulty: recovering from spinal cord surgery.

I would love to meet some fellow Farkers/etts.

2005-02-17 12:12:41 AM
I might be able to make this one.

2005-02-17 07:40:54 AM
Aw man, now that I've left town! Until about a year ago I lived right at Belmont & Halsted... too bad I can't join in. Well somebody drink a beer for me.

2005-02-17 07:44:01 AM
Out of the 3000+ bars in Chicago, you had to pick the only one that I have been kicked out of!!!!

2005-02-17 07:49:05 AM
I'll be all up in that biatch....
How do these Fark parties work?
Nametags? Reserved tables? Strippers? Catered food?

What time?

test the waters. See what floats.

STEELEYE SPAN - JOHN BARLEYCORN LYRICS

There were three men
Came from the west
Their fortunes for to tell,
And the life of John Barleycorn
As well

They laid him in three furrows deep,
Laid clods upon his head,
The these three men made a solemn vow
John Barleycorn was dead.

They let him lie for a very long time
Till the rain from heaven did fall,
Then little Sir John sprang up his head
And he did amaze them all.

They let him stand till the midsummer day,
Till he looked both pale and wan.
Then little Sir John he grew a long beard
And so became a man.

They have hired men with the scythes so sharp
To cut him off at the knee,
They rolled and they tied him around the waist,
And they have served him barbarously.

They have hired men with the crab-tree sticks,
To cut him skin from bone,
And the miller he has served him worse than that,
For he's ground him between two stones.

They've wheeled him here, they've wheeled him there,
They've wheeled him to a barn,
And they have served him worse than that,
They've bunged him in a vat.

They have worked their will on John Barleycorn
But he lived to tell the tale,
For they pour him out of an old brown jug
And they call him home brewed ale.

/apologies

Something like 9 pm if I make it from UIUC.

SatchmoR Don't ever apologize for giving out the words to a great tune on a great album. I'm not familiar w/ Steeleye Span's version. I always thought it was a Traffic tune. Was thinking there was a verse or 2 missing until I noticed the band credit.

BTW - you do know that fag has different meanings outside the UK, don't you?? And, congrats on the little'un.

I live nearby...so maybe.

Just curious, something wrong with Lincoln Park? I'll be spending a week there later this year and I'd love to know what I'm in for.

2005-02-17 09:10:39 AM
Speaking of games in the area, just so everyone knows the first real day of the Big Ten Tourney will be at the United Center that day. It'll run until around 10 or 11 that night, but I'm not sure what that'll do to the crowds at Barleycorn (as in crowds being there to watch the game). The Illini are numero uno so that may draw a general crowd to the Chicago area, but since it's the Barleycorn all the way up in Lincoln Park I'm thinking everything should be fine.

bssrf4 It's the day after my B-day. Hurrah for Pisces! :)

Jesus, how many Farkers actually live in my neighborhood?!?!? I'm at Racine & Barry.

And for the record, I do like the original JB more, but I'll be there at the Lakeview JB.
