A lesbian dog won Westminster? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Don't...make...fun...of...the...PEKINGESE!

Just kidding. He was kinda funny to watch. But I do love me a Pekingese. I've got a 13-year-old Peke that's the coolest dog I've ever owned.

2005-02-16 09:48:11 AM
That's a handsome dog.

You will not be disappointed, I assure you. They don't bark much, they're AMAZINGLY loving and loyal, brave to a fault (they will not back down from much larger dogs), and truly have great personalities. They can even "talk." Not for real, of course, but Pekes tend to have a larger repertoire of sounds than most breeds. They also usually live a long time and don't have to be walked far. That's what really short legs will do for you.

Minuses are (of course) the shedding, the fact that they can lose an eye (Google "Pekingese eyeball"), and possible breathing problems or difficulty during birth.

My family has owned Pekes for literally decades, and we're all insane about them. They're great dogs.

I think I had a Pekingese stuck in my dryer's lint trap this morning.

I watched the final judging and honestly that furball was the only one I didn't want to see win. I thought the rest of the dogs were gorgeous.

2005-02-16 10:59:06 AM
Speaking of dogs in lint traps, I was wondering if they had a Chihuahua class at the Westminster dog show.

I was dropping of my laundry on the way to work and was growled at by a Chihuahua puppy, which was no bigger than a guinea pig, looked like it had been bred over thousands of years to convulse and make margaritas, and was wearing a parka. The pooch was freaking out and going into some sort of permanent seizure, and was growling at me like it was going to fly at my jugular and take my life, it really made my day.

2005-02-16 11:27:58 AM
Did you see the best in show winner's stunning pose? She is absolutely gorgeous. It was funny to see how happy she was when she figured out that she won. They really do know what they're doing, and doggies looooooove to have a job.

2005-02-16 12:20:11 PM
Guess she had that winning goose-step that the judges were looking for.

Date night in Missouri?

"She went out there and threw a free stack in front of God and everybody that said: 'I'm the winner, you've got to hand it to me right now.'"

Am I confused, or is "throwing a free stack" just another word for standing there? You'd think they were talking about gymnastics or something.

That's a bear in a bee costume.

What are you, a wizard? A genius?

I hate to pin you with the "L" word, you being a surgeon and all, but you're really out of the loop, aren't you? Here's a helpful dictionary.

"Throwing a free stack": remaining static in maximum exposure of a canine's merit
"Waxing a cherry malt": sniffing a butt; the sniffee is the opposite sex of the sniffer
"Waxing a vanilla malt": sniffing a butt; the sniffee is the same sex as the sniffer
"Glomming a glarkacious nimble": when a canine rests on his/her haunches. Known as "squatting" outside the show ring
"Flabbergasting the pipette": flatulence that can be successfully blamed on a snippy poodle

Now, don't you feel edified?

2005-02-16 03:13:03 PM
I had a buddy who worked at IHOP once and he'd "throw a free stack" my way every once in a while...

/not really

ATostig: Consider me edified.

2005-02-16 04:53:36 PM
And consider me tongue-in-cheek, in case it wasn't obvious. "Throwing a free stack" is indeed a pretty stupid expression.

2005-02-16 05:16:17 PM
Plain old mutts are the best dogs.

2005-02-16 05:19:06 PM
I hate Pekingese dogs, but Jeffrey was ROBBED last night! He owned that ring and all the people in the stands...

/wanted the Pharaoh Hound to win it all

Bah! Triumph can beat all of these pretenders paws down!

ATostig; my keyboard waves the white flag of surrender.

My friend own the world's only not-annoying chihuahua. Seriously, JJ is the only one I've ever not had an immediate urge to drop-kick. Probably because her mistress is not your typical chihuahua-type (i.e. annoying; I'm a firm believer in the concept of dogs taking after their owners).

2005-02-16 05:20:57 PM
She beat out Nicole Richie!

2005-02-16 05:21:07 PM
After the show was over they went on to beat the NY Nets 97 -77.

Local joke!

Excuse me, is the proper thread for me to dis on dogs?

/Cuz a Saint Bernard bit me on the butt.

2005-02-16 05:28:04 PM
Nice headline but that leads to the next question: celebrated by sniffing eachothers' butts and looking for biatches, is this any different from the Grammy celebrations?

2005-02-16 05:28:06 PM
What no Triumph the insult comic dog quotes or pics yet??

I am very disapointed.

2005-02-16 05:28:58 PM
I think Pekingese are the ugliest dogs on the face of the earth. It's like the Persian cats.

Like someone got tired of them and smashed their already ugly faces into a wall to make them flat and ugly.

2005-02-16 05:29:23 PM
My Saint bit you????

My dog's cuter

2005-02-16 05:32:37 PM
LOL!!

Last night my wife and I watched a little bit and they got to this part where they were handing out an award to this woman and her dog and then announcer was like, "There's just something SO special about that biatch." It was classic.

2005-02-16 05:33:10 PM
I've got a shorthaired pointer...

in my pants.

2005-02-16 05:33:12 PM
My German Shorthaired (RIP) was the best dog I've ever had.
Except, he wouldn't hunt. And only had one nut. And was generally equally interested in peeing on trees and staring at sqirrels, but not much of anything else. And if he was inside, he wanted out, and vice versa. And he had the worst gas of any dog. Ever.
Other than that, though, he was frickn' awesome.

2005-02-16 05:34:53 PM
The dog already is a biatch. So unless it's a lesbian dog it's not really going to go out looking for biatches.
/submitted this with a funnier headline.

My Saint bit you????

Dog photos are always funnier if you say "I'm the one on the left."

2005-02-16 05:38:55 PM
In other news, there are millions of dogs of various breeds and mixes at animal shelters that need homes. Seriously..fark anyone that buys a dog from a pet store or spends hundreds (or thousands) of dollars on some vanity breed.

2005-02-16 05:39:35 PM
"Throwing a free stack" means to pose without the handler instructing the dog to do so. I saw it on CNN this morning, so knock off the snickers.
