2002-03-12 12:46:00 PM
Now if Mike Tyson would just take a nice little vacation in that country, .....
2002-03-12 12:46:21 PM
Halfway thru March and they're only up to 6? Must be a slow year. Unless they're shipping all the condemned to Afghanistan to help out...
2002-03-12 12:47:05 PM
What is Texas up to? 5?

It's goign to be a close one to the end.
2002-03-12 12:47:29 PM
This seems really low, can anyone find a more accurate count?
2002-03-12 12:50:02 PM
no kidding drew. we are very much under par considering last years #.
2002-03-12 12:50:34 PM

They need to start executing Gestapo Style.
2002-03-12 12:54:50 PM
The counter need ++
2002-03-12 12:57:23 PM
Maybe it's a kinder, gentler Saudi Arabia.
2002-03-12 01:02:12 PM
Oh, I enjoy the details of any news of the sort no matter if the count is accurate or not. However, I always try to read the "Kahil's Cartoon", as well. Amazing how persecuted all those poor poor Arabs are, and it's all the fault of Israel and the U.S.

Makes me want to run right out and join the masses in their struggle, until I realize that I'd have to give up about 1100 years' worth of civilization and learning.

Stateless man beheaded for murder

If he's neither liquid, gas or solid how did they remove his head?
2002-03-12 01:05:09 PM
What a great, civilized country they have! I'm sure this death penalty is also the fault of American imperialism and oil, at least to Harmonia.

WEll, the guy won't murder anyone else, that's for sure.
2002-03-12 01:06:48 PM
Stateless now headless.......ouch
2002-03-12 01:06:49 PM
6 was a good title for this. It didn't need any more words or names than it already has . . . geez.
2002-03-12 01:06:49 PM
from the right column...

• Heroic acts of Palestinians
symbolize Saladin's jihad,
says author
• Saudi-US ties excellent,
says Sultan

"One of these things is not.. like.. the other... one of these things doesn't... belong..."
2002-03-12 01:08:18 PM
Ahh... a life without an appeals process.
2002-03-12 01:19:51 PM
Zorgon That's par for the course, our gov't will get in bed with anybody if it suits their needs. From the Saudi side, I imagine their gov't likes us for all the oil we buy even though we're the great Satan.
2002-03-12 01:27:03 PM
...crushing Abdul Rahman ibn Mashan Al-Anazi with his car after a row, the ministry said.
What the hell is a 'row'? Was this dude on an afternoon oar driven pleasure boat with his friends? He mustve gotten really pissed off on someone's paddling habits or something...
2002-03-12 01:31:09 PM
Hilltop: From Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1913) (web1913)
Row \Row\, n. [Abbrev. fr. rouse, n.] A noisy, turbulent quarrel or disturbance; a brawl. [Colloq.] --Byron.
2002-03-12 01:32:44 PM
I know a guy that just came back from working in SA for 5 years. He said he could watch the fun from his office window. Hey, and here's a wierd tidbit... His wife, who also worked there, said the Saudi's have all the best technology. If it's new and unreleased, they're using it. She said they were using PC's with Pentium 5 chips. I don't think she has that right, I'd bet prototypes but P5's don't exist yet do they?
2002-03-12 01:35:22 PM
"What the hell is a 'row'?"

Another word for Oaral sex.
2002-03-12 01:36:15 PM
Where are the bleeding hearts on this one? You know the ones that want Andrea Yates free to roam the country-side killing more babies?

They should have been in Saudi Arabia for the beheading.

Welcome to the year 1180
2002-03-12 01:38:58 PM
row = fight.
2002-03-12 01:47:51 PM
I think we need some beheadings and public hangings... modern executions are too "you'll just fall asleep". Maybe some medieval type executions in public would dissuade some potential looney murderers out there. Or if not, it would still be an interesting family outing for a Saturday.
2002-03-12 01:50:13 PM
Someone over their better get on the ball. Whoever is in charge is going to have hell to pay. At this rate they'll never catch up with last year. Jeez, it's friggin' March already.
2002-03-12 01:54:46 PM
6! = 6*5*4*3*2*1 = 720.

Sorry, just the math major in me. hehe.

"Who was that Math man???"
2002-03-12 01:56:43 PM
i'm sure the beheadings will pick up...theres the june-july-august catch-up..and the famous november-december cram..gotta get those last ones in before the year ends...taxes you know...
2002-03-12 01:58:41 PM
(computer geek)

Stateless man? His session was lost? Or was he just not explicitly instantiated?

(/computer geek)
2002-03-12 01:59:41 PM
Yes this is shockingly low, I can not beleive that they are this behind schedule
2002-03-12 02:00:17 PM
Yehya ibn Mozhal Al-Anzi was convicted by a Riyadh court of crushing Abdul Rahman ibn Mashan Al-Anazi with his car after a row, the ministry said. (SPA)

2002-03-12 02:05:56 PM
Jesus Christ, only six? By now they should have like 20 or more.

Oh well. Hopefully they'll catch up in the next few months.
2002-03-12 02:08:05 PM
9/10: he is just non-deterministic.
2002-03-12 02:25:20 PM
Maybe they wondered why they had so many hits on stories of beheadings, found Fark was responsible, and started underreporting to help Saudi Arabia's image with the west.
Ah, Fark. Influencing international relations since 1999.
2002-03-12 02:25:21 PM
oh, so that's what the counter on the left sidebar is for? I've been wondering about that.
2002-03-12 02:28:26 PM

There are worse ways to go . .
2002-03-12 02:36:16 PM
Why isn't this "Arab police needlessly kill car-wielding nut"?
2002-03-12 02:41:25 PM
Karmic Hoax: Now don't be calling out Rei. Or else it will be the U.S.'s fault for the execution. Ah screw it, Rei, oh Rei where are you?
2002-03-12 02:57:02 PM

Not the dreaded Rei!

There aren't enough hours in the day to read her posts ... and not enough aspirin to cope with them!
2002-03-12 03:05:08 PM
Halpas: Definitely. There was a figure in European history (Louis XI of France sticks out in my mind, but I don't think it was him) was executed by sodomy with a red-hot poker.
2002-03-12 03:18:41 PM
It was Edward II.

Where are all the terrorist huggers? Kind of ironic that they come out of the woodwork if they can find a reason to bash the US. Oh wait, this is Islam and the people look different, so we have to be tollerant of their culture. In that case, cheers, hope you can find some free thinking people to execute, or some woman who refuses to wear a veil.
2002-03-12 04:14:58 PM
Does some farker check ArabNews every day and keep us posted on this? Or does Saudi Arabia have to get Drew's permission before they go ahead? Who's keeping track of this?
