fark that! flossing sucks and makes your gums bleed so you never wanna start.

all the alcohol that passes through my mouth should kill it all anyway.

My friend said 'you dont know how hard it is to quit smoking.' I said, yes I do, it's just as hard to start flossing.

"I want to give back because I've been accused of earning a living off other people's afflictions," he said.

Well, considering that you afflicted people with 'Billy-Bob Wacky Teeth', I don't see how you could possibly deny that allegation...

Does that mean Mike Myers will be doing Oral B commercials soon?

Yea, he's so "passionate" about it-2 whole schools in Moscow, ID!

More like, "Hey! I'll make a non-profit company to plug all my profits from my for profit company, write off my entire living expenses to both
and PROFIT!"

i'm confused. this man marketed a product and made a lot of money because people chose to buy his product. that makes him an evil greedy pig.

now he wants to do something for the common good.

i don't get it.

Wow something so simple as fake teeth has made him a rich man. I need to think of something like this.

Reminds me of the time when the daughter of the inventor of Pet Rocks was taken hostage by the Gravel Liberation Army, suffered Stockholm Syndrome, and was caught emancipating heaps of pebbles into the Grand Canyon.

Rinse with Plax or similar. It is better than flossing, and doesn't cut.

I worked for the attorney that represented them in a case against the people that own the rights to the Austin Powers novelty teeth. Pretty cool client, they kept giving us cases of beer.

No, DOESN'T want to "do something for the common good"-he wants to find any possible way to keep more money w/o paying taxes.

If he wanted to REALLY do something, he'd just go down to the local dentist and find out who hadn't paid their bill and pay it.

Put an add in the paper, tell everyone he's set up a charitable foundation to help defray dental costs for needy kids/adults, set up some criteria to determine what applicants get the $$

But all that is too much work, wouldn't get his advertising dollars in!

I've seen it before, non-profits used to soak up the sister for-profit company's after-tax profits..

He's duplicating stuff put out by the American Dental Association and most public health offices!

BS is all I can say!

I live in Moscow, ID (about 20 minutes away). Dr. Bailey is a wonderful man that has made so much money off the Billy Bob Teeth, that he will fix people's dental problems for free if they cannot afford it.
I don't doubt that he will be doing this educational promotion. He is just that type of person. Always willing to help people in need. It is very important to floss, and if he can make it look fun to kids, I say go for it.

He came to my school once. My con-ed teacher knows him. I talked to him, and he gave me a free pair of those goofy teeth. He seemed really nice and down to Earth.

Dorothy Day

I wonder if the following has ever occurred to you:

1) Making money in a capitalist system has social utility;
2) Setting up charitable organizations and non-profits for the public good has social utility;
3) People that make money in a capitalist system are typically the people that have the money to fund such programs; and

here'e the big one, stay with me,

4) Our government, recognizing all of the above, designed tax laws that ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO DO GOOD THINGS WITH THEIR MONEY, by giving them somewhat of a financial motivation to do so.
