What are 'neighbors'?

2005-01-23 04:29:41 PM
They're always leaving the bodies around for me to dispose of....I HATE that.

2005-01-23 04:30:06 PM
He crosses the property line all the time and cuts my Bermuda too low and burns it... every year.

2005-01-23 04:30:26 PM
listen to the joy division really loud all day

/i like the joy division, but really loud through the wall all day would kill me

2005-01-23 04:30:34 PM
My neighbor leaves their ugly dirty dog outside every day and night.. I've only NOT seen him chained up outside 3 times. He barks all the f*cking time and I want to drop kick him.

In college, I lived in an apartment across the hall from a family with two small children. The parents gave me a lecture when I moved in about the apartment building not being a dorm and how I'd better be respectful of the non-college people living there. farkers let their kids run up and down the hallways screaming at all hours of the day and night. I hated them.

Farking!

My neighbors do all sorts of stupid stuff and get the cops called on them. SO of course they come and check everyone. PITA.
/Yeah, its a dorm, and they're froshes, but still. Near every damn night.

Fight, fark, vacuum. Fight, fark, vacuum. Fight, fark, vacuum. Fight, fark, vacuum. Fight, fark, vacuum. Play stupid Oasis song on repeat for 2 hours. Fight, fark, vacuum. Fight, fark, vacuum. Fight, fark, vacuum.

There are about ten people living in the tiny house behind mine. They mow their lawn at 6am regularly. To make it even odder, only the women do yard work, and all the men are cab drivers.

2005-01-23 04:34:48 PM
They kept the lights off on Halloween AND their son broke my skipping rope.

Luckily, I'm not one to hold a grudge... ;)

2005-01-23 04:35:05 PM
My neighbor died last night. How annoying. All those sirens and lights...

/didn't know her

2005-01-23 04:35:46 PM
My neighbor actually came up and asked me to stop flushing the toilet because it was bugging him. He then basically asked me to stop walking in my apartment altogether.

2005-01-23 04:36:03 PM
The people in the apartment next to me seem to think that 9am on Sunday mornings is the perfect time for a rave in their apartment.

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM ttssttt ttssttt ttssttt BOOM!

My ex-boyfriend lives upstairs with my ex-best friend, and every night I get to hear them POUND POUND POUND POUND....

/Red Stripe makes it all better
//not really

2005-01-23 04:36:24 PM
My closest neighbours are about half a kilometre away. They don't do shiat that I notice.

I have had some nasties in the past:

*Drunken bf/gf arguments at 3:00am.
*Playing Limp Bizkit (of all farkin music) at about midnight on a weekday, loud enough to rattle items in the kitchen.
* Playing Kylie Minogue (of all farkin music) at 3:00am loud enough to know exactly what song it was.. (that la la la BS)

I can't be bothered finishing this list.

2005-01-23 04:36:26 PM
I was awakened Thursday morning (a well-deserved vacation day) at 11:30 am by the people in the house behind us BLASTING Christopher Cross's "Between the Moon and New York City" cranked to like 11. They turned it down soon after the song started and then they turned it up even louder.

I swear Dudley Moore was probably ready to claw his way outta hell and scratch their mouths off.

2005-01-23 04:36:51 PM
Play horrible top 40 music way too loudly. I don't mind if they blast music because that means I can, but when it's 50 cent I have an issue.

My ex-boyfriend lives upstairs with my ex-best friend, and every night I get to hear them POUND POUND POUND POUND.

I think there's a hell of a story behind that statement...

2005-01-23 04:38:44 PM
I'm an RA in a dorm... I have like 25 neighbors that are all 18-20 year old guys. I could put up a list, but that would take entirely too long. Suffice it to say that I hate my job and my life.

2005-01-23 04:38:54 PM
Cheap, stink-ass candles. Turned the lock around when we moved in, so it's difficult to do laundry. Has a key to our floor. Moves around like a ghost. Weird, weird lady.

2005-01-23 04:38:56 PM
My neighbors installed sprinklers in their front yard last summer.

I've never seen them RUN the sprinklers. The front yard is entirely dirt, which washes across my driveway as mud when it rains.

It's even more fun when their kids ride their bicycles across my driveway at 8AM after I've been up until 5AM on a call.

The wife (now ex, I think) moved out a couple of years ago, and the kids, their father, and his mother all live there.

At least for now. (sigh)

Develop a taste for bagpipe music. Play it at moderate volume whenever the neighbors crank it up a bit too loud for you.

Because no matter how good the other persons' stereo is, NOBODY can drown out a piper. It's a bag full of screaming cats.

2005-01-23 04:41:37 PM
I know that I'm nowhere near a perfect neighbor, so in fairness, I will list some of the things I have done:

- I regularly streak my neighborhood, just because
- Throw keg parties with multiple live music acts that last until 5 am.
- Never rake leaves
- Apparently I don't take the trash out to the street often enough, because a-hole neighbors' cat always knocks over my trash cans.
- Leave my blinds open and wander around my house naked as the day I was born

SpinalTapp: Suffice it to say that I hate my job and my life.

I used to be an RA. I was at the college over a summer during an exchange program for immersive English.

I'd bet that at least your residents speak English or a variant thereof.

(Nothing like trying to reason with a shiatfaced Danish guy who'd *really* like to be bonking the shiatfaced Brazilian girl behind the big couch in the lounge, and both of them are so shiatfaced that they can no longer speak English - or converse with each other in any fashion that doesn't involve groping.)

2005-01-23 04:46:12 PM
Spawn.

2005-01-23 04:47:29 PM
I used to live across the street from the neighbors from hell...2 adults, 4 kids, 2 German shepherds, and grandma crammed into a 2-bedroom duplex. Everyone looked they wandered straight out of Cletus's place on the Simpsons and into our neighborhood. I could write a book on everything that went down, but probably my favorite incident was the time I watched a couple of the kids crawl out of the upstairs window and run around on the [very slanted] roof, stark raving naked. (Yeah, I called the cops before they fell off.)

They only lived there about 4 months, but after they left the landlord had to come and completely rip out all the carpets and padding in the entire place. And it was a brand new duplex when they moved in.

I used to live below this old couple. The woman had no life and lived to make mine difficult. If I played light music in the middle of the afternoon she would call me and yell that I had woken her up from her nap. If I didn't answer the phone she would ring the doorbell incessantly.

Then she would turn around and vacuum at 8am on Sunday morning above my bedroom, which in turn woke me up from MY "nap."

Thats when I would blast the tunes.

Nothing.
I'm too busy having loud sex at 5:30 in the morning.

2005-01-23 04:49:13 PM
When I still lived in an apartment, the upstairs neighbors had fights all the time. One day, one of them threw a large piece of furniture down the steps to land in a broken heap that I had to move out of the way in order to get by.

Now, my nearest neighbor is 300 feet away and is not annoying at all, merely amusing in his antics, such as when he mows his yard by pulling a gas lawn mower tied to the back of his Suzuki Samurai with a long rope.

2005-01-23 04:49:17 PM
Only know one neighbor, and she seems pretty cool. The prior owner, however, was a whiny biatch. Glad she's gone.

2005-01-23 04:50:01 PM
I used to have real ghetto neighbors across the street. All day they would sit on the stoop drinking and yelling and fighting with each other. It was a surreal experience. I think they are in jail now, but I'm not sure.

Hey, I like bagpipes as much as the next scots/irishman but even I realize it's an aquired taste. One thing it does do tho is drive rap music fans bonkers. No matter how much they crank the reverb, the pipes beat 'em back. Hell, they were *designed* to be heard in the heat of battle after all.

Oh man, I'd have had a field day with that. I would have prepared a lecture for the parents about how the apartment building wasn't a day-care center or playground by day 3.

Also, out of spite, I would have started leaving my front door open whenever I was home and leaving notes on everyone's door.

Farking damn radio-controlled airplanes on an otherwise perfectly-quiet summer evening.

I'm seriously thinking of a jammer so I could just laugh as the damn things flew off to the horizon.

In one of my college apartments I had a roomate who's bathroom was right next to my bedroom. He used to sing in the shower. Loudly. I found it incredibly humorous, not annoying. I can remember one afternoon, studying for finals with a friend of mine when we suddenly hear the sound of water running and a man in despair singing "I AM HUMAN AND I NEED TO BE LOVED... JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE DOES..."

I giggled like a schoolgirl for the rest of the afternoon.

Take up remote controlled AA fire as a hobby. See who's the better hobbyist.

Do it. That would be hilarious. If you videotape the despondent looks on their faces as the planes either fly off, or crash and burn, I'll chip in for a jammer.

Oh come on, you know he was just singing BECAUSE he knew everyone was listening.

Hell, I used to do that in the dorms...at VERY odd hours. :p

What's scary to me is that I was singing that song in my shower last night. I didn't think anyone else knew of that group! Every time I ask if someone's heard of "Snake River Conspiracy" they give me blank stares.

Isn't a chopped down version of that song the intro for the TV show 'Charmed'?

I have no idea. I'm not much for tv, unless it's "Lost" or "American Idol." But I do have about forty songs of theirs on my mp3 player.

"Guys,

Instead of driving around your garbage cans, why not put them away so the street doesn't have to look at them all week. Tnks, Ryan"

This was left on our door the other day. I am never buying a house in the suburbs again.
