Submitter gets a "HUZZAH" for the headline.

Well done sir/madame!

/*Sits down and orders another drink*

2005-01-18 11:32:01 AM
Well, I don't see what that second one has to do with Iraq.

Oh, wait. Prisoners. Gotcha.

Great Beavis and Butthead reference. To a "The Pursuit of Happiness" video, IIRC.

Times the mass of the ass, of course.

2005-01-18 12:07:22 PM
that headline makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. and it's not what I had to eat earlier either.

2005-01-18 12:10:27 PM
So considering the Iraqi forces have been known to desert in mass, get killed at will by highly organized and armed insurgents, have on average two weeks "training", and are so scared of repurcussions from other Iraqis that they wear face masks in some instances, I guess it's safe to say we can expect to be footing the bill in Iraq (money-wise and military-wise) for a looooooong time?

2005-01-18 12:14:43 PM
... * blinks *

/throws away angle-dangle-heat-meat reference.

Other than that, great headline. Insurgents are not speeding up the re-deployment of troops BACK to the United States. Theyve sucked at getting what they want by kidnapping civilians, ( 8 Chinese as of this day ) and I wouldn't be surprised to read one day that theyve kidnapped OTHER terrorists in their desperation.

keylock71, rephrase that so it rhymes.

America's strategy's, entry and exit, put me in mind of frat boys going around crashing parties.

'I hear Iraq has a KICKIN sound system'
'I heard those Iraq guys totally date rape chicks, Lets go crash their party and we can rescue any girls that are their and score with them!'
...
'Their's no girls here, and when we kicked in the door we farked up the stereo.'
'I hear Iran has a 50 inch plasma screen'
'I hear those iran guys totally date rape chicks'

Nice headline submitter.

I can't believe I've been sitting here watching the confirmation. It's really interesting.

"Fine. I will try some of your burned, replicated bird meat."

/what?

Go Condi, Go.

2005-01-18 01:16:42 PM
Why are we still in Iraq?

/Completely serious
//Haven't watched cable news in 8 months

Boxer chewed her up. She's going to get confirmed, but I'm glad they are not giving her a pass on the lying in the run-up to Iraq. I wonder if anyone will bring up that as National Security Advisor, she watched the greatest attack on american soil take place.

The assessment reflected a new willingness among senior Iraqi and American officials to acknowledge that large tracts of the country remain beyond the control of their combined forces. More than three months ago, interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi asserted during a visit to Washington that 15 of Iraq's 18 provinces were stable and largely peaceful. Now, in interviews, he routinely refers to the situation as "our catastrophe."

Iraq a new terror breeding ground

War created a haven, CIA advisers report

Iraq has replaced Afghanistan as the training ground for the next generation of "professionalized" terrorists, according to a report released yesterday by the National Intelligence Council, the CIA director's think tank.

good ol' boy

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/05/20020516-13.html

"I don't think anybody could have predicted that these people would take an airplane and slam it into the World Trade Center, take another one and slam it into the Pentagon; that they would try to use an airplane as a missile, a hijacked airplane as a missile. All of this reporting about hijacking was about traditional hijacking. You take a plane - people were worried they might blow one up, but they were mostly worried that they might try to take a plane and use it for release of the blind Sheikh or some of their own people."

Actually, they've got exactly what they want - an unstable area where they can recruit and train, and have increased anti-american sentiment through out the world exponentially.

Also not so sure about your "desperate" claim. The military has stated publically that the insurgents are stronger, and more organized than ever.

Seems to me, they've got a plan (disrupt oil supply, disrupt security, disrupt the election process) and they've executed it far better than the US has executed it's plan.

Go Condi, Go.

At last something which you and me
Despite differences can on agree
Go Condi, just go away
For I for one recall that day
Who helmed the ship when towers fell
And knew that briefing's title well.

My, it certainly has been a while since I had a SherKhamposition aimed at me. I almost got to missing it.

A Midnight Bout of Frenzied Concupiscence:

Better warm up to Condi folks. She'll be President soon.

I disagree about the warming up part. Half of America dislikes George, probably most of them with a passion. I'll give her 8 years maybe, I doubt she'll run before that.

2005-01-18 02:27:55 PM
Half of America dislikes George...

Barely half.

2005-01-18 02:59:04 PM
Sorry, but ain't no way all dem Red States gonna vote for a minority woman President.

Ain't...
No...
Way!

They may not have a choice if it's her vs. Hillary.

I ain't no geomographer, but shouldn't the "angle of the dangle" be directly proportional to the "heat of the meat"?

I mean, aren't we talking about the dangle's angle in relation to the owner of said dangle?

Wait...what are we talking about here?

Anyway, while I'm nitpicking:

Barely half.

What exactly does "barely half" mean? I've seen this term thrown around a lot lately and it makes absolutely no sense to me.

I can understand the concept of "nearly half", but "barely half"?

2005-01-18 04:37:49 PM
the united states is farked up to the rest of the world.

you know what? just find a way to make money off of it.

it's much more fun, as history has proved time and time again, to live during the downfall of a society than its rise.

Great headline

Condileeza Rice is another lying neocon who will not hesitate to tell any lie, no matter how ridiculous it sounds, in order to fetch water for President Bush.

When will these idiots realize the quagmire they've dragged us into.

I think otherwise, but maybe that's just because she's from here and is something of a local celeb.

Besides, the Blue States vote for plenty of straight people...

The angle of the dangle would be the angle between the meat and the belly button, I do believe. But you could argue that the angle of the dangle was the other angle, sure.

Just wanted to post a, "WHOA! Sometimes you're pretty smart, Beavis!" to submitter.

2005-01-18 04:41:43 PM
sigdiamond,

Good job. As my 4th grade teacher used to say, "there is no such thing as the bigger half". Half is an exact measure.

Mr. Clarence Butterworth:

I guess I'll settle for watching Brit Hume figuratively kiss her on both butt cheeks and Hannity have an on air orgasm.

Well, I'm sure Jon Stewart will have his way with her tonight on the Daily Show, that should be good for any number of laughs.

Yeah, right.

Other than the fact that she was National Security Advisor during the worst terrorist attacked in our nations history and she was part of the Iraq stabilization group (google Iraq mess), I think she is perfect for the job.
