Stick 'em in jail cells and then powerwash their asses.

Almost 90 grand a year and this crap happens? I want a job application.

2005-01-13 09:52:29 AM
Proutsos is now an assistant commissioner overseeing nutrition programs for the city's Department of Aging.

Hmmm... This couldn't possibly go bad, now, could it? At least the elderly can wear diapers, I guess.

Does anybody around Chicago think the joke that is the Democratic Party Machine is not funny any more?

This chick sucks. For nearly 90 grand a year, you should be able to do a better job than this.

*raises hand*
I do, I do!!

at the city pound at 2741 S. Western.
I went there looking to adopt a dog a couple years ago. I remember thinking even then that the dogs were not very clean and that the cages were not in great shape. If it got worse, that's REALLY bad.

2005-01-13 03:04:28 PM
If you think that's bad, you should have seen when they put them in the dryer!

The incredible part of this story! The fact that she wasn't competent enough to ensure that pet cages were washed out correctly lands her job making sure that the elderly receive nutritionally sound meals. Oh well, I guess it isn't only the Bush administration where someone could spectacularly fail at one position only find themselves promoted or moved to another position of equal or greater value.

Proutsos is now an assistant commissioner overseeing nutrition programs for the city's Department of Aging. Her salary has not changed.

Step 1: Powerwash animals in cages
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Profit, new job in charge of old people!

Step 4: Powerwash old people...

/ticket, please

Hey, the manifest says cage three is supposed to be a chow. But it looks more like a Mexican Hairless. What gives?

If more people would go to the pounds and shelters for their dogs instead of being egotistical, pretentious assholes and paying $500 - $2,000 to puppy mills and breeders for purebreds, not as many dogs would have been powerwashed.

Powerwash her whole family.

2005-01-13 03:09:33 PM
I volunteer at the local SPCA here. It's a pain in the butt to clean those cages sometimes but come on. I agree, a powerwash enema should be in order for someone like this. It's enough that half of the dogs go crazy because of their horrible owners and the understaffed shelters, I know they're dogs but they shouldn't have to put up with crap like that.

Hell, who wouldn't?
I just hate to think about what I would do to someone who farked with my doggie.

I have seen people use car washes to clean horses and large dogs. As long as the water isn't too hot or you get too close, there is no problem. Just avoid waxing your doberman.

2005-01-13 03:17:29 PM
Damn shame that Bush has all his cabinet appointees named. This chick would have fit right in. It's gonna suck when she starts power washing the old folks though....

Seriously, tie the biatch down and powerwash her privates.

2005-01-13 03:19:09 PM
That pound on Western was some sad-ass shiat when I saw it last year. They can't call you to let you know if a version of your breed came in and they close at 5. Oh, and they euthanize after 2 weeks.

So if you lose a pet, you either have to take a couple of weeks off or, you know, move through the five stages of grief pretty quickly.

"Everybody is entitled to their perspective, but the fact remains we have made incredible changes in the quality of care for the animals at the facility throughout the years."

Well you can't call her a liar. The conditions changed.......for the worse!

Someone needs to hold a 5k pressure washer to her ear and press go. Or let her live in one of the cages for a month.

2005-01-13 03:19:57 PM
And waxing your doberman would be a euphemism for..?

2005-01-13 03:21:33 PM
She also denied that she was forced out, even though her title change sounds more like a demotion. Proutsos is now an assistant commissioner overseeing nutrition programs for the city's Department of Aging. Her salary has not changed.

Wow! How can you consider caring for the elderly a "demotion" from caring for dogs? Worse yet, what kind of moran decides to entrust such care to someone who has been proven incapable of even handling animals? Must be a hell of an employees' union....

There are also many purebreds at the pound. Almost every single breed. There are plenty of people who shell out $500 for a boxer, then neglect abuse or abandon the dog. If people would be more responsible about not over breeding, fixing dogs, and knowing what responsible pet ownership is. This is one of the boxers my rescue group took in from the pound. Around a year old, all ready had puppies (probably sold for a profit) and then left at the pound. My cousin has adopted her and she is a great dog. This is her the day I picked her up from the pound and transported her to the vet.

I know this woman. She was given her choice of jobs to take with the same pay. No penalty though. And she is a total pain in the ass...

ps- I have powerwashed my lab when she rolled in massive amounts of tar at the beach.

Of course I did talk to her about it first and I think she understood what the point was. At least she loves me enough to stand there and take it.

BTW, it worked like a charm.

She was playing "Abu Ghraib". Couldn't pile them up into pyramids, though.

"A shining example of why government would be better at running health care."

If you left the free market to take care of our dog problem, we'd just have packs of feral collies roaming the city.

Hmmm.. this woman must know someone in power like mayor daley.. She's probably got pictures to blackmail him with.

Sheesh. I was just getting over the program "Cruelty Call" on CBC Newsworld last night about the Ontario SPCA dealing with asshat owners and such.

farking coont. Rude Turnip is right. So is foxboxchick. Adoption is key. And don't get your kid a bull mastiff because Harry Potter farked one in the Christmas special or whatever!

Welcome from G-town!!!!!

I totally respect pound dog people. I have gotten the greatest dog in the world from the pound. She died a couple of years ago but she was the best bird dog I have ever seen or had the pleasure to work with.

Make puppy farms illegal...that would go a long way towards solving things from the ground up.

foxboxchick, that's a beautiful (not that way) dog! I got my two boys from a pet rescue adoption group, probaby like your group. You guys do miracles.

Puppy mills/puppy farms/whatever you call them SUCK. I would not call those dogs "pure breds", except on the most technical terms. They are often inbred and mistreated, and are more prone to being mentally farked up.

Stop buying dogs at the farking mall, people. You're causing these problems.

I was stopped for OUI on New Years Eve and arrested. Yah, I know!!! I am 55 and I knew better even if it was to excape the cold just to drive ACROSS THE STREET TO THE STORE AND BACK!!! I went to what they call the de-tox! Euuuuuuu! 22 hours without food but, water after 20 hours and phone calls after 12 hours. If you didn't bond out they take you to the general population but first you strip down butt necked and they spray you with a pressure hose! Wait, not with water, BUG JUICE!! Yes! In your face to your toes and tinker toys too! Tell me that's humane!
Move over doggie, you got it good!
Signed
Pissed because I didn't walk
