He should go talk to Joe Horn about that one.

From Colt's coach Tony Dungy:
It's not the kind of thing you want to see on national TV, but I understand what it was all about. ... The fans in Green Bay have a tradition in the parking lot after the game where they moon the visiting team's bus.

At least Moss has some class.

2005-01-10 04:09:24 PM
i hate this bullshiat.
this country needs to collectively grow the fark up.
he didn't even moon anyone!
CAN WE JUST HAVE SOME FUN FOR ONCE!?

2005-01-10 04:17:37 PM
Eh, I don't think it was that big of deal. The announcers kept going on and on about how 'horrible' it was. It's not like he pulled his pants down in the middle of the field. He PRETENDED to moon the crowd.

I'd like to know what kind of person follows football and finds THIS the most offensive thing they've seen...

2005-01-10 04:20:56 PM
I don't understand why it's such a big deal either. Good headline, submitter.

2005-01-10 04:30:18 PM
Whatever. The way the announcers acted, it was like he took a shotgun to the crowd.

Jesus. Football is supposed to be fun.

And John Lynch didn't deserve that $75000 fine either.

It's like the NFL is trying to make the football field Wal-Mart friendly. Never mind that we pay grown men millions of dollars to attack each other, there's no rough edges here!

dly
2005-01-10 04:31:22 PM
ha! grow up !

he was just moonin the fans back!

after every home win, packer fans moon the losing team's bus.

2005-01-10 04:31:38 PM
Now THAT'S a spicy headline!

2005-01-10 04:31:48 PM
This fake mooning was my own personal 9/11

2005-01-10 04:31:55 PM
Maybe they should have him do the Super Bowl halftime show...

Where does this money go? Y'know from the Janet Jackson thing and the T.Owens thing. Who gets it?

2005-01-10 04:32:16 PM
I blame Janet Jackson's boob.

/thought Moss prank was pretty funny, actually.

2005-01-10 04:32:47 PM
Forgive me for pointing out the obvious, butI think I'll turn off my computer now before I get any dumber.

2005-01-10 04:32:49 PM
To equate the fine, if someone makes $50000/yr, the fine would be $50. Drop in the bucket.

2005-01-10 04:32:52 PM
He should have joined the NBA, where shennanigans are encouraged, until they go up into the stands, and then suddenly they're bad.

2005-01-10 04:33:37 PM
Just Ignorant: And John Lynch didn't deserve that $75000 fine either.

Um, yes he did. It was a fourth offense, caused a concussion, and was a blatant hit on a defenseless reciever.

2005-01-10 04:33:41 PM
umm, I hereby announce 2DShooter's Corollary to Godwin's Law and say that Tiddy should lose this argument because he made a grossly disproportionate 9/11 reference.

2005-01-10 04:33:57 PM
Am i the only one who is glad he is getting fined? This is a professional game, with Pro athletes, NOT THE FREAKING CIRCUS. For the posters in front of me, leave the football for the adults, and go back to your WWF.

2005-01-10 04:34:53 PM

Before its time.

2005-01-10 04:35:58 PM
hey 2dshooter--the vi-queens will never make the superbowl

and as for tony dungy--he's the guy who got all upset about the TO thing with nicollete sheridan--and this "was kinda funny"--screw you tony!--

moss is a punk and matt burke is a dumbass--last week he was mad at moss cause he acted like an ass when they lost--but if he acts like and ass and they win it's okay---

Surely this'll just make him into one of those bad-boy celebs and he'll recoup the fine by being interviewed by people who misjudge their audiences by thinking this sort of thing is interesting and/or sensational?

Censorship is teh big stupidzlol

2005-01-10 04:36:52 PM

$5,000 ? Won't this make his brown eye blue ?

2005-01-10 04:37:29 PM
I don't think it was that big of a deal. The commentators on FOX were acting like Moss just anally violated Pam Oliver on the 50 yard line, though.

This provided a bit more perspective for me with the situation. Even being an avid Packer fan, I no longer look down on him like I did.

2005-01-10 04:37:54 PM
Warren?

2005-01-10 04:37:55 PM
Again, I think it was the "wiping ass on goalpost" that was the problem.

Had he feigned the moon and then moved on, it probably would not have been a big deal.

2005-01-10 04:39:29 PM
Atvar: "...was a blatant hit on a defenseless reciever"

Even being a Broncos fan, I have to admit the hit was pretty bad. What gets me is that if the guy would have held on to the ball, he'd now be a runner and that hit would have been legal. Seems kind of steep to go from legal hit to $75K in the matter of a bobbled ball.

2005-01-10 04:39:34 PM
Thank goodness he didn't suffer a "wardrobe malfunction" at that moment.

commentators on FOX
The main guy making the stink (pun sorta intended) was Joe Buck. For those who only watch football and not baseball, welcome to the hell we've been complaining about for the last few years.

todays lesson: If it's the same fine gor the simulated or for the actual thing, Next time go for the actual thing.

You're right, pro sports should be played by adults... not by people who get into petty arguments about who's the man on the team, or by peeps who beat their wives, shoot their neighbors, smoke weed in the offseason like it's going out of style, shoot their mouth off at the press over the officiating, etc...ad nauseum

It could happen... and this lottery ticket in my pocket could be a winner.

Since that's not going to happen, I say let these boastful egomaniacs have their fun on the field and alter your perspective such that their personal life example is more important than their cockiness in the game. Ultimately I don't care what kind of facade is displayed on TV as these guys play their games in front of my kids so long as my kids aren't asking me why Kobe Bryant is wearing a suit in front of a judge.

You know, with all of the horrible things going on in the world right now, you think something like this would be overlooked. But it isn't. You know why? Because people are afraid to deal with reality... and the reality of this story is that it bears no pertinence to the existence or continuance of the human race.

meh.

No GG Allin booked for Superbowl halftime? Oh yeah, he's dead. They can dig him up.

why dont the pussies offended by this go burn some books or something...

2005-01-10 04:46:07 PM
It really is the No Fun League. I wish he would have done it the face of that washed up old piece of crap Brett Favre. Glad to see Cullpepper outplayed the most overated QB in history.

Eat shiat Favre.

Combine that with your previous Pam Oliver idea, and you've got a Fox-worthy halftime show.

At least the endzone celebration was "original" and funny unlike the same ol' hip thrusting "fark you" dances. I wonder if y'all offendees are gonna call the FCC about the Levitra ads with the "everlasting erection" speak and flaming vagina logo?

2005-01-10 04:50:12 PM
jasonl6010,

How many Superbowls has Culpepper been to and won?

The Viqueens always have and always will choke in the big game.

Favre's rating in history is right where it should be.

GROW A SENSE OF HUMOR PEOPLE!!

2005-01-10 04:50:44 PM
Go Randy.

Man, the press farking hates him. They take every opportunity to over highlight any dumb little thing he does. Keeps them in column inches, I guess.

But I endured a week of hearing everyone crow about how badly the Vikings would do because Randy is a lazy attractive and successful African-American (more or less) and beause Brett Favre is the second coming of Christ.

Moss proved the critics wrong and had a little fun. He had a *monster* game.

2005-01-10 04:50:56 PM
Mr. Clarence Butterworth

Ha! That would be great, and I am sure GG would do it. if he could.

Personally I think that the networks and the NFL should post a little warning at the beginning of the halftime show, then have Trey Parker and Matt Stone do some kind of completely vulgar yet smartly hilarious commentary on the whole thing. I see it involving a gang bang with Terrel Owens and the Desperate Housevives, a german Shepard, and GG Allin's dead body. Then if anybody complains, the network and the NFL should say "Fark you, Blow me" and see what happens.
