Good for her.

Hope it all goes well and there are no complications.

/Secretly hoping the baby has x-men powers of some description

2005-01-06 08:26:29 AM
the real question is, will there ever be a boy born who can swim faster than a shark?

2005-01-06 08:29:31 AM
I bet it has the poer of gibbering incomprehensibly for hours at a time right now.

2005-01-06 08:48:55 AM
It can be its own nightlight. Aw.

2005-01-06 09:02:45 AM

2005-01-06 09:25:16 AM
I hoped it was genetically modified so that it carried the GFP-gene, like this monkey

Maybe if we slice all the shark's fins off before we race 'em.

Also, why do they call it menopause? Seems to me the term should be menostop.

Best headline? Where in the article did it talk about a glow in the dark baby? I know about the radiation, haha, but I mean.....really. Stupid headline.

2005-01-06 01:48:07 PM
Wake me up when they make the first glow in the dark rape dogs.

2005-01-06 01:48:27 PM
I can smoke a carton a day, sprinkle my cereal with asbestos buy a house under some power lines and still have a lower chance of cancer than this kid.

2005-01-06 01:49:18 PM
This really needs an EXCELLENT

2005-01-06 01:49:48 PM
Submitter, I know you were just trying to be funny. That said, you've failed miserably.

2005-01-06 01:51:12 PM
the baby only glows if you bend him in half and shake him vigorously

2005-01-06 01:52:48 PM
Will club kids hopped up on ecstacy wave him around in the air as they convulse to Oakenfold?

2005-01-06 01:53:27 PM
Stupid headline, stupid tag. Unless the submitter was just trying to hoax people who didn't read the article, in which case...

Nah, it's still stupid.

/express ticket, smoking please

2005-01-06 01:56:36 PM
Always amazing that people who want kids (like this lady, I'm assuming) cannot have any, but on the other hand you'll get some lady living in a trailer home with 5 kids.

2005-01-06 01:56:59 PM
How do you get such a neat headline from such boring article?

What kind of 21 year has hormone therapy to conceive? Isn't that like for 40 years olds?

2005-01-06 01:57:53 PM
Shouldn't the headline be "World's first ugly-ass glow-in-the-dark baby born"?

/feels cheated

2005-01-06 01:58:45 PM
BillCosby

Let others correct me if I am wrong... but chemotherapy can push you into menopause, regardless of age. So the hormone therapy was to combat those side effects.

BillCosby:

The kind who's had their insides irradiated from bone cancer treatments.

2005-01-06 01:59:37 PM
well sure, but to get him to glow you have to keep holding him up to the damn lightbulb...

just stick a lightbulb in his ass, thats what I am going to do with my kids

ladies? I am ready to breed!

lets look at the facts. She was 20 when the baby was born, there is no talk about the father or any man in the article. She was told that she would never be able to conceive after the chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She probably was single and thought she could get all she wanted, but the docters were wrong and so she got knocked up. BRAVO!

Now, that's funny.

BillCosby
I assumed the hormone therapy was for the cancer. Some cancers respond well to treatment with hormones, and some don't.

/wife begins her hormone therapy in a couple of months

I, for one, welcome our new Glow-In-The-Dark Baby Overlords...

Chemotherapy isn't the same as radiation therapy. Or am I confused as to where the title of the post came from? :/

HERE are some cool varieties:)

I was diagnosed with Bilateral Wilms Tumor when I was 18 months old. I had a nephrectomy (kidney removed) and had chemo and radiation on the other.

Growing up I was always told that I'd never be able to have kids.... When I was 12 or 13 though I got a phone call from the long term follow-up group I was in.

Apparantly some of the kids a few years older than me took the no kids stuff at face value and didn't "use protection". There were several people suprised to find out they weren't as sterile as they thought. Being 12 or 13 I remember thinking nothing more that "ewww, that's gross".

I'm now the proud papa of a 9 month old boy, looks just like me (poor kid-o). My wife had issues of her own when we were trying to get pregnant so, just to rule it out, I had to provide a "sample" of my man juice... To quote the fertility specialist, I have "SUPER SPERM"!!!

/moral

Doctors aren't always as smart as they think they are...
