ya think he did that because he wanted to rape her and impersonating a cop was his cover, or do you think he was just fixated with the idea of being in law enforcement?

Underdog....UFB. What an ugly cop!

/washing eyes out with soap.
2005-01-06 08:25:52 AM
I bet he had a really good system going, pulling over hot young women.
"Well, there is one way you could get out of this ticket."

Either that, or he hates woman drivers.
/me too

My money's on the first (or at least, something sexual related like strip searching people), but there are wierdos who do the second. There's actually a movie about it. He did have a lot of police stuff at his house after all. Of course he might still have gone around killing or raping people anyway.
2005-01-06 08:49:31 AM
Lucky thing she was a real cop; I don't want to think what could have happened otherwise.
2005-01-06 08:54:21 AM
Maybe he was just interested in getting the bribes from those who really didnt want a ticket.
2005-01-06 08:56:36 AM
I suppose this didn't get the Hero tag because she is a woman?
2005-01-06 09:01:40 AM
Stories like this have made it so that I would never pull over for any unmarked car. I don't care what kind of stuff they had (bullhorn/high-powered light on car, siren, whatever)...I just wouldn't. Stories like this seem too common.

Goddess of Atheism
Not to be the bearer of bad news, but I doubt this was his first, and he's not the only guy to think of this. I hear about a new local person atleast once a year who gets away with atleast 6 or 7 before someone reports him.

You just have to look on the bright side, eventually people will learn to question authority, and maybe "we're with the government, we're here to help" will stop being used to get access to anything.

Impersonating a cop in order to score with chicks works best with teenage runaways.

Um, er, so I have heard or something..........

No... I'd imagine the "Dumbass" tag is for the dumbass who happens to be male who impersonated a cop.

I love these stories about the freak-wannabees that have all the cop toys and drive around pretending to be police officers. You know when they are caught, the cops are just mercilessly making fun of them.

why hasnt anyone noticed that the gingerbread man on the right hand side on the add is f*ckin the snow and making a very strange face as well..

Farking the snow? Hmm...I thought it looked like he was trying not to drown in a glass of milk. Either way, creepy ad and creepy story.

That bastard's life in prision will be hell. Teehee.

Supposedly, you're able to dial a cell phone code (believe it's #77 here in the states) and verify that the unmarked car flashing behind you is, in fact, a cop. Haven't tried this myself; but it'd probably be worth checking on.
2005-01-06 10:50:07 AM
In my area, it is perfectly legal to load up your car with working lights and sirens as long as you don't use them on the road. Somehow I think this is a bad idea.
2005-01-06 10:56:32 AM
What should've been done is that the guy was taken into custody by the police, and never heard from again. These people should be OFF the planet; they are dangerous.

I won't stop for an unmarked car either. No way, no how. Let them call for some REAL backup if they need to pull me over.

There are plenty of examples (like this one) where a judge would have to be INSANE to not see why a woman wouldn't pull over for an unmarked police car.

They had the same prob in Ft Worth Tx about 20 years ago.

If you're afraid to pull over, you have every right to call 911, tell them there's a cop car following you, and that you would like a confirmation that it really is an officer. If it is, you then have the right to go to an area you deem safe to pull over, such as a well-lit gas station with people around it or some such. Just explain to the 911 dispatcher, "Y'know, you hear such stories... I'm not trying to get away, I just want to make sure I'm in a populated area before I pull over. Please let the officer know for me..." Then drive within the speed limit, and don't make any sudden moves.
2005-01-06 11:14:04 AM

#77 is not a standard number, you're better off calling 911.

see this page

Precisely!! LOLOL He filled that whole glass so far!

Thanks, Captain Obvious.
2005-01-06 11:48:43 AM

Good to know, and thanks. Interesting note; that page refers to the emergency/911 locator bill, which I just read would probably not be fully operational anytime this year. Probably wisest to follow CarolynLibrarian's advice.
2005-01-06 11:49:05 AM
It's a good idea to verify before pulling over. Getting a blue light and a uniform shirt is far too easy. I have told my whole family the same thing. I am sure that most officers would understand that you are not trying to avoid them if you stay at the speed limit and put on your hazard lights while calling 911. Just use common sense. Pull over into a gas station or a busy parking lot. If you know where the police station is, go there. Unmarked cars are used for traffic enforcement in some states but most are used in other capacities.
Ask to see an officer's badge and identification card. One or the other is not good enough. A badge with "Security Officer" inprinted on it should be a dead giveaway.

the aGPS thing does work with verizon using motorola.

i remember getting pulled over by an undercover car, i just kept on going until I reached a fire station. The hard working guys love seeing a doughnut-eater in action.
2005-01-06 01:35:06 PM
Ah, not pulling over immediately for undercover cars... Yeah, that'll surely get you a nice beatdown.

I've seen it several times around here where the person kept driving to find a "safe" location. When they finally stopped they were forced out at gunpoint, yanked down to the ground, and had the cuffs slapped on. Many cops don't like it when you don't do what they want.

It's a lose-lose situation. You don't wanna just stop for anybody but the cops want you to stop right-now and they're all hopped up on adrenaline.
