This is my first H*R link as a TF'er, so I expect to see the following:

(_)At least 5 posts from non-fans about how much H*R sucks
(_)Someone posting the "Party Pooper" picture
(_)At least 5 real fans saying it wasn't that good
(_)At least 5 real fans saying it was great
(_)Someone quoting the cartoon that everyone JUST watched, in an attempt to be funny. Failing miserably.
(_)At least 3 Egg-related comments
(_)At least 3 quotes from old H*R toons
(_)A bunny with a pancake on its head

the obvious points are the cheat playing tito and homestar aknowledging Strongbad are what kept this together. Johnnytron gave me a chuckle too.

Is Lappy wireless?

I wondered the same thing. Seems extremely unlikely, but I definitely didn't see any wires snaking out from under the table. Given what my wireless card does to the battery life of my Latitude 840, I'm gonna say he cached the email to disk before going mobile. Of course, he tried to send his reply from under there, too. I guess the finished message could've sat queued up in his outbox until he docked Lappy again...

isbat1 - it's a cartoon dude. You have guys with no arms throwing tennis balls and weird The Cheat creatures and you describe how SB could be using Lappy under his table... Fairy dust probably.

2005-01-04 09:51:45 AM
You have guys with no arms throwing tennis balls

I've always assumed his arms were merely invisible. It's either that or magic, and Homestar doesn't seem to possess the necessary mental discipline to manipulate the Forces Unseen.

And before anyone points out that Homestar's shirt has no arm holes, take a moment to ponder that his T-shirt may actually be a strapless dress, with his invisible arms hanging out over the top. Eeeeeeww.

and weird The Cheat creatures

I also watched Pokemon before (and after!) it was cool, so I can easily take the Cheat in stride.

and you describe how SB could be using Lappy under his table... Fairy dust probably.

Maybe. Or maybe Strong Bad can charge Lappy's batteries by channeling dork energy! His brother is a ready supply, as are the H*R fans like me who worry about crap like how a fictional laptop works!

2005-01-04 01:09:50 PM
You know...it's really sort of ridiculous the crap that gets spewed about how 'terrible' these cartoons are.

No one forced you to click. If you clicked once...decided you didn't like it, no one forced you to click again. I'm reminded of the following joke:
-----
Don was so excited to be going bear hunting. He spotted a small Brown Bear in the woods and shot it. Then there was a tap on his shoulder, he turned around and saw a big Black Bear. The Black Bear said, "Don, you've got two choices, either I maul you to death or we have sex." Don decided to bend over.

He felt sore for two weeks, but Don soon recovered and vowed revenge. He headed out on another trip where he found the Black Bear and shot it.

There was another tap on his shoulder. This time a huge Grizzly Bear was standing right next to him. The Grizzly said, "That was a huge mistake Don. You've got two choices. Either I maul you to death, or we have rough sex."

Again, Don thought it was better to comply. Although he survived, it took several months before Don finally recovered. Outraged, he headed back to the woods, managed to track down the Grizzly and shot it. He felt the sweet taste of revenge.

But then there was a tap on his shoulder. Don turned round to find a giant Polar Bear standing there. The Polar Bear said, "Admit it Don, you don't really come here for the hunting, do you?"
-----
If you don't want to look at it...then don't...again..and again, and then gripe about it...again and again.

2005-01-04 01:12:09 PM
Is Lappy wireless?

Has anyone stopped to wonder whether any of Strongbad's replies ever get sent? Notice he's always typing the response to a command prompt.

I didn't laugh out loud really, but it was nice to see Coach Z...okay, and Homestar can ALWAYS make me laugh. Just hearing him say ANYTHING can make me giggle. "Yeah, you do!"

A little less Strong Bad, and a little more Homestar, and I'd be happy. I mean, he IS the star, right?

2005-01-04 03:56:38 PM
I first saw the homestarrunner site before it had any cartoons other than the intro, had no clue what it was, cuz it went nowhere.

It was actually redirected from a site i used to ferquent ismokecrack.com. I figured it was just another crazy thing that the site was doing, but it stayed that way for a while...

HOWEVER...about a year later, a friend was quoting a cartoon where only cool people could look in the bags and tried to get me to go get him a drink. i did and he sent me the link.... i recognized the H*R character and have been in love ever since.

Not that any one cares... I just thought it was a little interesting history of H*R

And for the love of Pete, Don't feed da huuuuuuuuudge.

One can hope you are joking...

I watch weekly as the clueless morons (and the trolling asshats) try to incite H*R flamewars.

It's simple. You see the icon for H* and you ignore it. Those that post to incite should be ignored.

/HATES feeding the trolls...

Sure are a lot more haters than usual in the thread this time. This may not have been the best example of how good these cartoons can be, but try to lighten the fark UP and let your inner child take over for a few minutes.
And of course nobody is forcing you to watch these so if you still don't like them, stay away.

2005-01-05 02:18:50 AM
Seems like HR been off a bit lately. Sure I chuckle occassionally but it hasn't made me laugh my ass off in a couple months now. What with the Simpsons sucking so bad the last few years, Dave Barry retiring, and my sudden lack of cable, who will I turn to for my weekly guffaw?

2005-01-05 03:39:24 AM
Watching this, and realizing that I have no farking clue whats going on, really gives me the impression that I am not wasting my time on useless shiat.

2005-01-09 01:49:16 AM
Both "Waudju...gighi...ikuh" and "I'm gonna need...NOW off." go right into the permanent memory file. Right next to the day I was talking to the biggest pain-in-the-ass dame my job has to offer, and I noticed that her skirt had ridden up to her waist.
