Great headline!

/Wiping milk off LCD right now.

2005-01-03 12:36:25 PM
hehhe Best. Headline. (About.This.Story.). Yet.

2005-01-03 12:38:32 PM
Nice headline. Carter's probably already built 30,000 replacement homes by himself.

2005-01-03 12:44:27 PM
Enough with the politicians. We need the entertainers of the world to unite, a la We Are the World and Voices that Care.

Minus Michael Jackson and Kevin Costner, respectively.

Great move. Have two great politicians rebuild the region. However, first we should send in John Kerry to burn down the remaining villages and John Edwards to lead the litigation team.

Big_Bad_Dad

Should've tried harder.

Why do I hear the theme from The Odd Couple in my head.

2005-01-03 12:49:03 PM
Sadly, better than my headline.

And George W. to liberate them from their evil occupying power by ruthlessly killing the same people he says he is liberating.

" At the Indian Embassy, Bush said "We'll help in any way that we can" and that he had told India's prime minister that "my intention was to make it this year to India."

soon as we are sure they have Weapons of Mass Destruction, that is.

Hehe, poor little Repuplicans, persecuted for ruling the US and still kicking down John Kerry months after the election is ova. Where's my tiny violin to play ?

2005-01-03 12:51:24 PM
Can't wait to hear how lefties are against this move...

2005-01-03 12:51:52 PM
That headline made my morning.

2005-01-03 12:52:02 PM
Sounds like a great photoshop, eh?

2005-01-03 12:52:23 PM
I wonder if this was Colin Powell's idea.

Wow...I thought you punks would only reach super asshole strength if Bush didn't win.

2005-01-03 12:53:25 PM
Damn, didn't see this was green lighted, or I would've checked my "Finally realizing he can't understand macro-economics, Bush asks daddy and Mr. Bill for help raising tsunami donations" for another day...

2005-01-03 12:53:47 PM
skinink. Well the do.
80 Year old Krusty: "What's the difference between Pakistan and a stack of pancakes? The stack of pancakes wasn't nuked by India! What??! Too soon? Eh!"

This should immediately boost the prostitution economy back to normal.

more people have died in Iraq, but we are silent. more people have died in Bosnia, yet i here not a peep. much like the Lacey Peterson case, media exposure is driving polictical agenda - fark'em. 100 years ago we would have never heard about this natural occurance nor giving two farklings.

don't think i am without sympathy, but more people have died at the hand of man yet we do not rush to help. maybe that's the reason for the outpouring - it was an outside force and that ain't right.

give it a month and the watercooler comments will have moved to the next high profile CNN/FOX/MSNBC news disaster.

/queue the theme song...

At least TRY!!!

We can also send Bush to Liberate India from the tsunami and turn it into a pseudo democratic christian country.

2005-01-03 12:55:09 PM
since he obviously has more pressing matters to attend to. Syria and Iran just aren't going to invade themselves you know.

2005-01-03 12:55:16 PM
I'm going to do what Bush did when he was my age to help out. I think I'm going to just get stoned and or drunk.

2005-01-03 12:55:23 PM
Hey, if the government won't kick in a respectable amount of aid, maybe we can just ask people to do on their own.

/wishes the US was in for a billion...

2005-01-03 12:56:38 PM
none of these twats could even hold Carter's jock-strap.

damn, did i just type/read that & now have to visualize it?

"those Meenie Republicans keep kicking me when I'm down!"

2005-01-03 12:58:30 PM
Don't you all realize that the tsunami is part of the Axis of Evil?

2005-01-03 12:58:45 PM
An insane amount of people have died in this disaster. When I see the number, it's almost incomprehensible.

2005-01-03 12:59:04 PM
asciibaron:

More people have NOT died in Iraq, unless you're counting before our invasion.

2005-01-03 12:59:19 PM
That was the first thing I thought of when I saw that story. Now if only reagan was around to kick some ass.

2005-01-03 01:02:28 PM
Oh, and I'm going to start putting the following remarks in any threads on this topic:

The republican agenda says the following; We have taxed the american people less so that the american people can do what they wish with their money. This is including, but not limited to, donating money to disaster relief for foreigners. The US government is not a charity organization. Everyone wants the US to kick up a billion dollars, but aren't interested in putting their $20 in. It's simple, go to amazon.com. Right on the front page you can put your hard earned money to work for these poor people who have faced a terrible tragedy.

2005-01-03 01:04:18 PM
That group is no good without Nixon.
Clinton does bring a lot to the table though.
Or, under...

X-Presidents, ASSEMBLE!

2005-01-03 01:07:29 PM
Damn, I don't get it.

Why are righties making John Kerry comments, and lefties whingeing about (fill in their preferred tragedy) here?

This'll make the top 10 for deadly natural disasters, easily, so I figure this sort of response is warranted and called for. If Dubya can get the X-Presidents to assist with their superpowers, then so be it.

I donted $200 to the Salvation Army's South Asia Fund and encourage all other Farkers to do the same.

anthos
Well since Nixon had to come out of the grave to bail them out, I suspect Reagan is within easy calling distance of the X-Presidents.

2005-01-03 01:08:40 PM
Dang it... Henchman's picture didn't load for me the first time.

2005-01-03 01:09:01 PM
I'm glad we can all band together and turn this issue into an infantile Bush vs Kerry whine-fest.

2005-01-03 01:09:51 PM

give money

The Ambiguously Gay Duo are already on the ground in Phuket to help stiffen the resolve of the locals to straighten things out...

2005-01-03 01:11:11 PM
I suppose Dick Cheney's "Well, they can make up a lot of relief funds by selling stuff on Ebay" comment was disappeared this time.

About time our brave saudi-american president got the damn decimal point right.

2005-01-03 01:11:24 PM
Where is the U.S. Government suppose to get all this money to help out South Asia? I thought the Government was like 800 billion dollars in debt. It's like trying to give a homeless guy 500 bucks when you just defaulted on your mortgage and your car was repoed.

2005-01-03 01:11:38 PM
And George W. to liberate them from their evil occupying power by ruthlessly killing the same people he says he is liberating.

George is so good with strategery he can even declare a wave part of the axis of evil. Oh, tsunami, you better hand over the evildoer Poseidon or we're gonna bomb ya.

2005-01-03 01:14:25 PM
You know why people aren't turning their pockets inside out for Bosnia or the people of Iraq? Because those disasters were manmade and are politically charged...just like these discussion threads.

As an American it's pretty hard to put yourselves in the shoes of your average Iraqi or Bosnian...but it isn't hard to imagine a nameless, faceless totally non-discriminatory natural event from f'ing up your life pretty severely. It's called empathy.

2005-01-03 01:17:27 PM
Bush vs. Kerry thread? On Fark?! WTF is the world coming to?

If I can't depend on Fark to provide my daily dose of rational discussions pertaining to world affairs, whatever am I to do?

Except we spent $150 Billion in Iraq, and $150 Million on Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and Thailand. Not that I really care... I'm just sayin..

2005-01-03 01:18:56 PM
"we offer our sustained compassion and our generosity and our assurance that America will be there to help"

as usual.

then the rest of the world can go back to sh|tting on the USofA next year.

Please tell me how the rest of the world has sh|t on us lately?

Republicans are so damn stupid they're forced to bring up Kerry or Clinton to distract from their own blatant idiocy.

2005-01-03 01:21:57 PM

US relief total for the southeast Asia, where over 100,000 people died and entire cities were destroyed: $350 million (pledged).

US relief total for swing-state voters to rebuild Florida hurricane damage last year: $14 billion.

Just sayin'.
