2005-01-02 10:05:19 PM
The picture is a bit grainy, but some of those women appear to have beards and other non-woman equipment.

2005-01-02 10:06:32 PM
Are they naked and strapped into their Poetry Appreciation chairs?

2005-01-02 10:06:36 PM

2005-01-02 10:07:34 PM
Schematic - Sooooo picky, aren't you? Don't you know they live differently in other parts of the world.

/I presumes you've been looking at the pic for a while...intensely...

2005-01-02 10:07:59 PM
I'd rather have 28 women get naked in my bedroom to celebrage my living penis.

'course, I'm kinda kooky that way...

2005-01-02 10:08:47 PM
"celebrate"!

Damn typos. Always sneaking up on a guy.

I wonder how many women are going to get naked to celebrate MY death?

2005-01-02 10:20:50 PM
Hmm. Pablo Neruda said, "Laughter is the language of the
soul."

/I am familiar with the works of Pablo Neruda.

2005-01-02 10:20:52 PM
Yes. Don't use speeches, charities, or exhibits to celebrate your fondness of the important person, just take off your clothes. Sheesh, this is how women show they devotion to everything. Not that the majority of men complain, but nudity isn't the answer to everything.
/waits for 50 farkers to state otherwise

2005-01-02 10:21:37 PM
What does getting naked have to do with this poet? That link had no usefull information in it.

2005-01-02 10:22:03 PM
Everyone in that picture has the right to have babies. And a couple of them would like to be addressed as "Loretta" from now on.

2005-01-02 10:24:56 PM
As a very living poet, I would like to have a number of women strip in honor of my being alive.

/anyone else in the area is not only permitted but encouraged to observe and/or take part in any ensuing sexual activities
//hey, I'm a people's poet; share the wealth

2005-01-02 10:28:03 PM
28 poetry reading nude women=280 cats(at least)

/I'm low balling that number
//happy new year everybody

2005-01-02 10:32:34 PM
Those chicks are all way hot!

2005-01-02 10:33:42 PM
It's a really bad picture, but I'm pretty sure that some of them are guys. At least the ones with the beards ... but I dunno.

Born Neftal Ricardo Reyes Basoalto in southern Chile on July 12, 1904, Pablo Neruda led a life charged with poetic and political activity. In 1923 he sold all of his possessions to finance the publication of his first book, Crepusculario ("Twilight"). He published the volume under the pseudonym "Pablo Neruda" to avoid conflict with his family, who disapproved of his occupation. The following year, he found a publisher for Veinte poemas de amor y una cancion desesperada ("Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair").

I hope just as many women get nekkid when I finally pass away.

I can't think of a better tribute!

/besides getting really drunk that is

2005-01-02 10:43:44 PM
I second that, a fitting tribute!

2005-01-02 10:45:10 PM

Intro to some future collected works of Neruda:

"Despite his versatile mastery of image and trope, and his grasp of poetic metaphor in framing contemporary viewpoints in visceral and unforgettable verse, Neruda only came to the attention of the reading public after a naked display of Chilean female fans in early 2005. While his work was obscure among many, the exposure given him by dozens of bared breasts, many of them quite large, and with the erect nipples that can only draw attention to one's cause, whatever it might be, brought many thinking readers into his circle and accounted for an increase in sales of even his most obscure works. Some of the breasts bared for his sake were astonishingly well-formed, and forced an uncomfortable stimulus into what this poet was all about -- and why so many women I didn't even know were so firm, supple and well built would think an erection reaction among readers (and this editor) would lead them to an interest in the poet. But it did. And for this we must thank the naked supporters of 2005, several of whom I have had the please of personally knowing."

2005-01-02 10:53:38 PM
Neruda was a great poet, but I'm still dressed.

2005-01-02 10:56:18 PM
Anybody else think this was a reference to Whitman's "twenty-eight bathers" when they read the headline? Probably not...

2005-01-02 10:57:19 PM
Hey, I saw some naked men in that ananova picture. Totally unacceptable.

2005-01-02 11:00:42 PM
I wanted pics until I actually thought about it.
Nekkid poet lover chilean women, nevermind.
