So are the rules such that if he doesn't die, they'll sue his little ass?

/non-smoking, aisle.

Hurrah. That's the first good play the Rams have made all year.

Go Colts!

It restores my faith that not all athletes are heartless jerks.

Go Colts!

According to the article, he also requested that they put Gumbel 2 Gumbel back on the air.

/nipples shouldn't just come off like that

I thought the tag meant he was going to meet Warren Sapp.

Dream Factory is also granting Nicholas' wish to go to Disneyworld in Florida next month.

So, then... That wasn't his only wish.

/hell, please.

2005-01-02 12:50:11 PM
Grant a dream foundation?
Could Nicholas have used some blocking?

2005-01-02 12:50:23 PM
Good thing it wasn't Reggie White

Hahah, winner.

Sappy? I tend to disagree. Hero or Cool maybe. Compassion does not = sappy. Maybe it's sappy that all these counties are coming to the aid of Asia? Perspective my my fellow Farkers.

2005-01-02 12:54:32 PM
Why do things like this (the terminal disease) have to happen to kids? So sad.

2005-01-02 12:56:16 PM
Go Stillers!!

Smell the Glove:

he'll be meeting reggie soon enough....

/already in hell HAHAHAHA

2005-01-02 12:59:19 PM
Hero or Cool indeed.

Sappy, not so much.

Not to be a prick, but supposing this kid was your little brother.

I mean, damn, it's a little kid with cancer. And you find it humor-worthy.

Asshats.

2005-01-02 12:59:23 PM
I wonder if Marshall had time to explain his theory that the moon landing was filmed on a soundstage.

2005-01-02 01:03:11 PM
Good story, good luck there little buddy.

2005-01-02 01:03:15 PM
Well think of it this way, if he wasn't terminally ill, he would have never met Marshall Faulk.

/window seat

2005-01-02 01:03:15 PM
Any doctors here? Why would brain cancer affect someone so young?

2005-01-02 01:03:59 PM
With some of the comments I see posted here, I suspect most of you are too young and immature to grasp life and death.

Grow up. This isn't "Sappy" or a great place for to make a smartazz remark then suffix it with "non-smoking isle" ... give me attention, I'm clever!

You got my attention, I pity you.

I third the motion for Hero or Cool.

Sappy?!? How is a sick child's wish to see his hero sappy? Submitter is an arsehole! Worst tag I've seen in a while.

2005-01-02 01:08:37 PM
Shoulda' met Steven Jackson.

2005-01-02 01:15:25 PM
Make a wish also does this kind of things too. If you've got some airline miles that will expire before you can use them, they can use them for some of the travel wishes.

2005-01-02 01:15:51 PM
Oh dyin' boy of Quahog, Chris Griffin you're so brave.

It restores my faith that not all athletes are heartless jerks.

Marshall was in fact busted for domestic abuse a while back. In his defense it's good to see he's trying to make up for it though.

2005-01-02 01:19:32 PM
The kid likes Marshall Faulk so much he copied his hairstyle!

2005-01-02 01:20:00 PM
Marshall is good with kids, he has six of them by six different mothers if i recall.

He doesn't have to be a good guy to participate in this. Come on, who's going to refuse to do a 10 minute tour for a dying kid? You'd have to be hitler re-incarnated.

2005-01-02 01:20:22 PM
Of all the football players he could have chosen, he picked Marshall Faulk? Bleh...

/Not a Rams fan.

If y'all don't want to see jokes made at the expense of a sick kid, don't come to Fark. Duh.

You haven't been here very long, have you?
Next you'll be going ape-shiat over the term "ugly-ass baby"

/no more shiat filter?

2005-01-02 01:50:20 PM
crazy_gaijin How DARE you use the term "Ugly-ass" on a public forum like the internet!

I'm offended, sir!

I'm calling my congressman!

2005-01-02 01:51:21 PM
screw a football player if i was gunna die and im 9 i would wanna go to the playboy mantion i would want my last days to be with boobies everyware cuz i may not make it to being a teenager the way any red blooded male should die surrounded by hot young boobies.

2005-01-02 02:01:49 PM
And if you fool yourself, you will make em happy

/sappy
/obscure?

2005-01-02 02:02:46 PM
Marshall Faulk, while a flawed person, has in fact shown flashes of class like this throughout his career. Stuff like this goes under the radar far too often. When Jermaine O'Neal was told that his suspension had been reduced, he was visiting sick kids who couldn't be home for Christmas. A local television crew was filming this visit and was able to capture him recieving the news. For some reason, this kind of thing gets lost. Marshall Faulk gained some points with me.

/still bitter he forced his way out of Indy
//been a Colts fan since Jim "Captain Comeback" Harbaugh
///Go Peyton

2005-01-02 02:07:59 PM
I actually wouldn't have minded seeing Mike Martz be requested for a hospital visit.

"What do you mean, chemo? This boy doesn't have cancer! It's just the mumps!"

"Don't give that man an X-Ray! Just slice him open and see what's inside!"

"Allergic to Penicillin my ass! Shoot him up with it and send him a bill!"

/worst. coach. ever.

Main Entry: sappy
Pronunciation: 'sa-pE
Function: adjective
Inflected Form(s): sappier; -est
1 : abounding with sap
2 : resembling or consisting largely of sapwood
3 a : overly sweet or sentimental
Number 3 seems pretty right for this tag. Does "sappy" have some other meaning where you come from, Doctor wu?

2005-01-02 02:37:11 PM

I completely agree. This isn't an adult dying from a moronic stunt, it's an innocent kid who might not see his 10th birthday.

Could the Bears call make a wish for an offense?

/Chicago Bears fan

2005-01-02 02:42:01 PM
hey smooky, check the score slick.

2005-01-02 02:42:59 PM
I don't come to Fark to see innocent, dying kids used as comedy fodder, Kidney Stone. I guess you do, though.

What thericks and God-is-a-Taco said...especially the pity part...cubed and then cubed again.

Duh.

2005-01-02 02:50:22 PM
I think I got an email about this a while back.

2005-01-02 03:02:47 PM
Poor kid. Too bad everyone's arguing about whether to feel bad for him or not.

/Frankly, I would have asked for Jennifer Garner.

2005-01-02 03:02:50 PM
I wonder if any of these kids have ever requested to
go to a stip club? I'm sure they get that from time to time.

2005-01-02 03:04:03 PM
strip club, even!

Hey now, your team isn't the the one that managed only 17 yards of offense in a game earlier this year.

Uh, go Browns?
