I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that no one says Jesus was born on January first...

2-5 with time off for good behaviour doesn't look so bad in comparison, does it?

I guess they already have the edge on Texas for the year. Who won last year?

2005-01-01 10:00:24 AM
Texas has been slacking ever since they lost their executioner-in-chief.

According to the University of Maryland's Polity IV Project, which scales countries from +10 (fully democratic) to -10 (fully autocratic), Saudi Arabia is the most autocratic country on earth. While there are 193 countries on the planet, of the 140 measured Saudi Arabia was 140th.

So, is Operation Iraqi Freedom the case simply because Operation Saudi Arabian Freedom is too big a mouth full? This explanation would be on par with all the others offered-except the 'invasion for oil' one. Though it's the most tenable explanation, it's also the one most vehemently denied.

Because the Bush family has business ties with the House of Saud that are as long as the day is hot in west texas.

How desperate for money and/or danger do you need to be to be a drug smuggler in Saudi Arabia? Can you think of a harder line of work?

And, I'd be willing to bet the customers of the deceased all have names that start with "Prince" and are doing just fine.

Saudi Arabia - 2

Texas - 0

Step it up Texas

And this is why Saudi Arabia beheaded two druggies...

Gotcha.

Beheadings are carried out with a sword in public.

Awesome.

Yet for some reason, Democrats have NO problem with their last president making Yassir Arafat the most frequent visitor to the White House. Apparently killing Israelis counts for less than killing some native criminals

What do you call the public beheading of two drug smugglers?

Religion is the worst drug. I tried it and it did nothing for me.

Of course, if some important Saudi is caught with the goods there's always a foreigner handy to take their place under the sword...

"What do you call the public beheading of two drug smugglers?"

A good start?

2005-01-01 02:51:31 PM
I can't fathom the incentive I'd need to deal drugs in a place that cuts my head off if they catch me. Jail is one thing; if I was dirt poor I could imagine jail as being a worthy risk. But beheading? Keeee-rist! Nope, don't think so

What happened to the good old days when this headline would've simply been "2"?

DIA:

Are you even trying anymore?

"Because the Bush family has business ties with the House of Saud that are as long as the day is hot in west texas."

Was in referance to the question asked pertaining to why the USA had to "liberate" Iraq and not Saudi Arabia.

Supposedly Tylenol is a really bad idea for hangovers, since it's liver-toxic and your liver's already just been stress-tested.

would you rather be burned at the stake or have your head chopped off?

burned at the stake.

why?

cause a hot steak is better than a cold chop!

/too much 3stooges last nite - I admit it

Like the drug smugglers in America that speed down the freeway with expired plates and absent head or tail lights whilst transporting large quatities of ________. (fill in the drug of choice)

This should have been labled

So invading Iraq is why Saudi Arabia is beheading druggies?

Ok...glad I caught up.

Saudi Arabia follows a strict interpretation of Islam under which people convicted of drug trafficking, murder, rape and armed robbery can be executed. Beheadings are carried out with a sword in public.

I agree with a few of those at least.

This is my Boobies since my credit card got stolen and I had to cancel everything thus losing TotalFark.
This is going to be painful for me to see my name without the TF tag.

Muslims don't follow the Gregorian calendar (which includes the months); they follow the Hijra calendar. The Gregorian calendar is solar (it follows the sun) while the Hijra calendar is lunar. According to the Gregorian calendar, which begins with the birth of Jesus Christ, we are in January 2005. According to the Hijra calendar, which begins with the Prophet Mohammed's (pbuh) journey from Mecca to Yathrib (now Medina), we are in Dhul Qadah 1425. Hopefully this clears up your confusion.

Lot of heads rolling around in the Mid East, damn. Still, I have to think it's a more humane punishment than the electric chair. What kind of effed up Vincent Price shiat is that? I can't beleieve we still do that.

/we as in America, global farkers

2005-01-01 03:05:12 PM
Saudi Arabia is beheading its people because Bush won the election. Bush is evil. He's Hitler.

2005-01-01 03:06:27 PM
But Saddam killed so many people! Why aren't we liberating the Saudis?
We all know the Saudis have an open and honest system of justice, right?

Why DIA, who would have ever thought that murdering people was an acceptable method of improving the human race? I guess that question kind of answers itself, doesn't it? (I mean aside from a nice group of people like the Saudis along with Saddam and his family.)

I wonder when we're going to get around to liberating Texas. After all, they've got oil, their government kills people and as best I can tell they have a lot of Weapons of Mass Destruction stored there. Seems like we have all the necessary ingredients for a pre-emptive strike (for our own protection, of course.)

I couldn't care less about a heroin dealer being killed - they deserve what they get - but Hashish? Really? It's harmless (and fantastic).

Wait, killing people is the best way to protect them from the harms of heroin?

Before all you dumbasses start talking about the Bushes and the Sauds, the US has been involved with them since before Bush was even born.

/know your history, biatches
