YaNUkovych, not Yankovic.
2004-12-31 01:23:58 PM
It was a cheap shot, but I lolled. To myself. Quietly.
2004-12-31 01:30:45 PM
LOL -- Yanukovych is almost like Yankovic!

Jesus Christ, I'm not equipped to recover from comedy THAT LETHALLY FUNNY!

Did you hear his parents died?

Please forgive the mirthful tagline....

I was just trying exercising that sardonic wit, for which farkers are so famous.

Props submitter, awesome headline!

To echo "morrisonsl":

The headline is funny, disregard the groundlings.

I was just trying to exercise my capacity for non-productive, barely-veiled inadequacies behind brittle disparaging comments for which I am even more famous.

PARAPHRASE: I am a dick.

WTF Mikey?
2004-12-31 04:08:56 PM
Al was hit by a car this morning, it just hasn't been greenlighted yet. So RIP Al, 1965-2004

Awesome awesome awesome. Indonesia also had peaceful elections this year too, and Afghanistan.

Next year though... let's keep our fingers crossed.

excellent headline, apparently some people find it too difficult to comprehend.
2004-12-31 04:13:14 PM

Ya, it's just as sad like when someone posted that Damon Wayans died.

/don't believe this post, or the one i'm referring to, please.

Normally I only understand news about the Ukranian election in terms of "Guy-Who-Got-Poisoned" and "The Other Guy." But it was kind of implied in the headline, and then I RTFA, so that cleared things up. I thought the headline was funny, BTW.

Weird Al is dead? Seriously?

Man that sucks. I always thought that his sense of humor was a little cornball, but he was a very, very smart guy.
2004-12-31 05:15:02 PM
Did you hear his parents died?

His parents were poisoned by dioxin aparently.
2004-12-31 05:22:47 PM
Let's focus on the serious issues of this election: What effect will this have on imported eastern european porn?
2004-12-31 05:26:13 PM
You know, that controversial first runoff election in November that started this whole mess?

The controversy was based mainly on the fact that the exit polls were greatly different from the final results. Many exit polls showed Yushchenko with up to an 11% advantage, while the final result gave Yanukovych a 3% advantage. In addition to that, many voting irregularities were seen.

Sound familiar? Nah, it could never happen here.

Oh, and before someone else says it:

Yes, I know Kerry lost. I'll get over it.

Weird Al is dead? Seriously?

No, somebody is pulling your leg.

funny headline, but not for the too-literal.

is there some link to the (alleged) story of Weird Al getting hit by a car?

his parents died about a year ago from an unopened chimney, i believe. dioxin/carbon monoxide = poTAEto/toMAHto. when i read about it in the paper, it seemed a little odd, because they lived in southern california. i didn't know they even made houses with chimneys there.
2004-12-31 05:41:48 PM
I guess, it kinda sounds like it...and apparently the "weird al is dead" thing has yet to be greenlighted by reality, sources say it may be a while.
2004-12-31 05:52:20 PM
Al's not Dead, at least there's no mention of his death on his site. Though there is mention of him being mobbed by mayflies at a concert, in the ask Al section.
2004-12-31 06:03:11 PM
Oh yeah, the mayflies. James Morrissey's old band, as I recall.

He's not dead.... He's pining for the fjords

ABC news is saying weird al's PARENTS are dead, not him....

Really? I've successfully used the "Convert thread to flamewar" option on any thread having to do with tsunamis, but didn't know you could change the way it lets you quote people.

R.I.P. Weird Al

Props on the headline.

Good riddance, Yanukovich.

Congrats to Viktor Yushchenko!
