well, duh.

It's because most men don't feel like men unless they're 'better' than a woman. Having a woman be able to do anything equal or better than they do proportionately shrinks the size of their penis.

I call them 'girly men'.

2004-12-30 07:03:25 PM
Personally, I prefer to be stapped to the wheel and have her holding the whip, but that's just me.

Stop preachin' to the kids and get back in the kitchen, woman!
i like darkhorse23. of course i'm kidding

I found myself agreeing with all of this until the end when I saw this:

In contrast, for women, a man's status had no influence on his desirability as a partner.

That line is total BS. If the study comes to that conclusion, I call shenanigans.

2004-12-30 07:04:22 PM
Not me.

My wife of 22+ years is much, much, much smarter than me. She is a PhD and a true genius.

Pick just about any subject (except farting) and she has forgotten more about it than I will ever know.

I realize the article refers to "subordinate", and that is not a function of intelligence. As a long-time IT executive, I have always made a bunch more money than the wife, but that is probably more because of our choices than anything else. She could probably run circles around me in any corporate environment, but excelling in business was never her priority.

darkhorse23: Having a woman be able to do anything equal or better than they do proportionately shrinks the size of their penis.

I'd like to say, that women can do everything better.

Therefore, why should I even bother lifting a finger? Men, we can turn this world around, let's have the women go to work, and we can stay home and be sexual objects.

Remember, the postwoman always rings twice.

2004-12-30 07:09:02 PM
It should be noted that this study was based on workplace dynamics. Many women in positions of power are ruthless by the time they get there, as the corporate world isn't too female-friendly regarding advancement. biatches aren't sexy.

Make of this what you will.

2004-12-30 07:09:27 PM
What do you tell a woman with two black eyes?

Nothing. You already told her twice.

/funny unless you have actually been abused

I believe you said this in jest, but I still agree with the point. I think that women are at least capable of equal performance in any role that doesn't require massive upper-body strength.

Case in point, I have for a long time preferred having a female primary-care doctor. I have always found them to have more empathy and be willing to take the time listen to you and talk to you rather than talk at you.

Plus, it doesn't hurt that my doctor is kinda young and very, very hot.

Also, for you 40+ Farkers, there is another advantage to a female doctor - smaller fingers. You know what I mean.

I will agree with you on the doctor bit. I have been to several female doctors, and each one of them was genuinely caring and actually listened to me.

Yup. I always know my doctor is going to keep me waiting past my appointed time, but I don't mind. Because I know it is because she is taking extra time with a patient and she will do the same thing when it is my turn.

Female doctors are great. Give it a try, guys.

Men would rather marry their female assistants than equal-ranking women or their supervisors, according to social psychologists.

Can we really turn this into "Men would rather have subordinate women?" Maybe it's more like, "Men would rather have that hot 22 year old secretary, than their 40 year old boss."

/I like my women smarter than me

Before the generalizations start flying, let me make one:

All generalizations are worthless. Life is about individuals, not statistics.

Aren't those generalizations? Shouldn't it be "Almost all generalizations are worthless, Life is mostly about individuals, not statistics."

No, wait. I was thinking absolutes. Damn it. Killed another joke.

Nah, they are generalizations. Did you miss the first sentence from that post?

2004-12-30 08:04:59 PM
I think men tend to prefer women that they want to have sex with. It doesn't really get much deeper than that. That's pretty much it. But by all means, read as much into it as you can. It sure sells those women's magazines by the ton. So does any article that bashes the opposite sex to make you feel the superior sex. If you aren't smart enough to see the ploy, then enjoy the ignorance. Seriously. It's harmless.

/too bad we own everything

In contrast, for women, a man's status had no influence on his desirability as a partner.
In related news, men are more honest than women.

2004-12-30 09:10:50 PM
If a woman wants me to submit to her beauty she must, in turn, submit to my physical power.

Having outgrown that, I now run from women who try to manipulate me with their sex, and treat those who don't as equal people.

kitschnsync: Did you miss the first sentence from that post?

I miss alot of things. I usually catch them right after clicking submit.

"Males who preferred to mate with relatively subordinate partners - as opposed to higher dominance partners - may have been better able to limit the chance - or amount - of paternal uncertainty, either by preventing their partner from having sex outside of the partnership or by being able to closely monitor their partner's sexual behavior for possible infidelity,"

I imagine it's more that a guy doesn't have to worry about his wife leaving him as much because of his own infidelity if she's dependent on him.

2004-12-30 10:40:10 PM
HA HA!

Men said they would prefer a less-dominant women both as long-term partners and as friends they would enjoy doing things with, such as exercising and going to a party.

In contrast, for women, a man's status had no influence on his desirability as a partner.

I knew it! All we ladies care about is the weenis! Boys, if you find yourself involved with a golddigging woman with no job skills, just remember---you like it that way.

Men prefer subordinate women to equals

Silly psychologists... that'd be submissive women-at least Thursday through Sunday-then it's a toss-up whether thigh-high stilleto boots and a whip or some other 'affirmative action' is the kink-de-jour.

You know, having dealt with men in the workplace and on college campuses, I'll tell you that you've always got a few guys who feel free to comment on your body, or to treat you as a subordinate. Most men aren't like that, but there are too many who are.

My meeting tonight with a bunch of college guys, all my age, all my level in the organization, went terribly because of their attitude toward women. Rather than treating us as mental deficients, they would have benefitted by asking the women's opinions and strategies. Granted, it's their loss, but this is a matter of true equal treatment, rather than most feminist BS regarding equality in the workplace.

2004-12-31 12:29:06 AM
Well that's not what I told the Dominatrix in the S&M club, but if a statistic says it's true then...

In contrast, for women, a man's status had no influence on his desirability as a partner.

I, too, wish to call shenannigans.

And for what it's worth, I prefer sexually submissive women and equal relationships.

Excellent point.

Quick1-
"Can we really turn this into "Men would rather have subordinate women?" Maybe it's more like, "Men would rather have that hot 22 year old secretary, than their 40 year old boss."

Also very true.

But here's my thing- Let's also take into consideration the fact that women tend to like men who are more powerful/wealthy/older than they are. It's not just the men choosing their subordinates- the women are involved, too. Many women like their men powerful.

(At least I do...)

There was a study commissioned by the Navy back in the late 60's, right when the nuclear submarines were really starting to get legs, that said, in absolute terms, that a crew of all women would be far superior to any other configuration, including an all-male crew (as they have today) or a mixed gender crew.

Why? Well, there was a bunch of reasons but the gist was this: women are far more patient and lack the testosterone-fueled idiocy that could drive men to beat the shiat out of each other when confined in a small space for weeks on end.

My two cents: Put women in charge of all the important stuff and leave us men to lift things, watch football, and talk about cars. The world should more or less even out then.

2004-12-31 12:34:10 AM
I'm not sure the data can be explained away by the 'men like younger pretty assistants more than older ugly bosses' theory.

They showed the subjects pictures and had them read stories. I'm guessing, but I figure that the stories are made up, and that whose picture was attached to what story was randomized.

At any rate, the article says that all the pictures were judged to be equally attractive.

I was just in a relationship where my girlfriend was very subordinate and never asserted herself, I didn't like this so I was waiting to tell her that I love her until I saw her assert herself on something (without telling her this, of course) Well she definitly asserted herself: by cheating on me with her ex and dumping me on some bullshiat pretext to cover it up.
