2002-03-04 01:52:27 PM
Yeah, I've been there, but making you believe that Bush was hiding it all from us is a much better story, don't you think?
2002-03-04 01:52:57 PM
Yeah, I tend to forget some things. Like when I'm focussed on boobies or my Presidential hopes. Farker.
2002-03-04 01:53:19 PM
$15 billion says that the media never mentions this.
2002-03-04 01:53:31 PM
I'm all for feeding the trolls and whatnot, but seriously. .why do people take stories from NewsMax seriously? That is like visiting the Greenpeace page for environmental news.
2002-03-04 01:53:56 PM
"Diminutive Democrat"? Stupid NewsMax. Stupid, biased-as-fark NewsMax.
2002-03-04 01:56:14 PM
Dammit Drew! You clipped the last word of my submission.

The conspiracy goes deeper than I thought. Fnord.
2002-03-04 01:56:48 PM
"Back in the sixties I invented a thin called a laser beam...."
2002-03-04 01:58:42 PM
I want my mind to be completely erased so I do not have to put up with the government bull.shiat.
2002-03-04 02:04:18 PM

2002-03-04 02:07:30 PM
The only way Newsmax would be useful is if it came out in a printed form, you were out deer hunting, and you ran out of toilet paper.
2002-03-04 02:07:55 PM
Didn't say this earlier in another thread? Democrats are desperate to tag Bush and the Republicans with *anything*. This is just another failure in a long list of failures of Democrat smear tactics against Bush.

It would be in the best interest for Democrats to jump aboard the GW Bush bandwagon before it gets to late for the fall congressional elections. Republicans are hoping the Democrat scandal fishing expedition continues.

What was I gonna say?

Mind control lasers...

Shoulda been wearing your tin-foil hats, boys and girls.
2002-03-04 02:15:25 PM
If only Osama thought of that defense.

"US, what's the US? I never heard of this New York place. And what are these towers you keep babbling about?"
2002-03-04 02:16:32 PM

If you have a problem with NewsMax, read the original article.

Link for the Intellectually Lazy
2002-03-04 02:17:38 PM
NewsMax and Foxnews should have same slogan : We Distort, you Decide (to believe us like the small minded Conservatives you are.)

What do you call a conservative that owns a sheep and a goat ? Bisexual.
2002-03-04 02:19:06 PM
I'm definitely right-of-center and I don't think Newsmax is even worthy of wiping my ass. Unlike their usual crappy articles (ala "a friend-of-a-friend who works in the Pentagon and plays golf with the nephew of General so-and-so's secretary, who says that red chinese are in afghanistan"), this article is just rehashing the transcript of a television show: easily verifiable if anyone cared to.
2002-03-04 02:20:07 PM
So you're saying you don't believe the story?
2002-03-04 02:20:29 PM
Well, what do you know? Cleveland Plain Dealer did scoop the Washington Post months ago. It's not a cover-up if no one's paying attention in the first place. That's pretty funny.
2002-03-04 02:22:03 PM
Shadow government? Memory erasing mind control lasers? That's the most absurd thing I..

Wait, what were we talking about?
2002-03-04 02:23:11 PM
Ooo - bestiality joke. Excellent response.
2002-03-04 02:24:54 PM
This just in.....
Newsmax not a big fan of the Dems. Farking to start soon.
2002-03-04 02:25:40 PM
From reading the original transcript (here:,2933,46884,00.html ) It seems to me that Daschle is talking about the Greenbriar (or wherever the place in WV where senators are now taken), not the "shadow government" site. I'll be checking Newsmax for their apology/correction/retraction on this.
2002-03-04 02:27:52 PM
so so so so so true, I watched the interview. and BTW the Greenbriar bunker was supposed to be closed to government work 3 years ago. Daschel was compleatly correct and this entire peice had nothing to do with Bushs Secret army of white-middle age-christian super warrior thinkers.
2002-03-04 02:28:25 PM

This just in...Mainstream media treats Democratic issues as its at 11.

When was the last time have you seen a news story that was positive on the NRA and negative on Handgun Control Inc?
2002-03-04 02:30:25 PM
ha, the last NewsMax article i read said that even Bat Boy knew about the shadow gov't. ha ha - they don't even keep Daschle as well informed as Bat Boy. what a stooge.
2002-03-04 02:30:52 PM

never, the media (all of it) is slanted, can you believe it, WOW!

you've got to know better than bring the NRA into this.....
2002-03-04 02:34:18 PM
Well seriously, Java_drinker, whatever your opinion on the NRA, they ARE only depicted when some extremist is speaking. Then again, the media tends to show only the worst of EVERY story; that's what sells the best. You should consider television especially to be entertainment at best.
2002-03-04 02:39:20 PM
The NRA is never going to be depicted in a positive light in the mainstream media, not with Heston swinging his 30/30 around on the stage.

If the NRA wants to get into the mainstream they should be PROMOTING passage of gun control for convicted fellons and barring yard-sale gun-o-rama's. The second ammendment doesn't say anything about the right to get a gun in less than 48 hours.

I know that is not a popular point of view here but this is the REAL WORLD we live in, take what you can get. I would think that the NRA members would rather see safe-gun laws and less crime, right? Just how many shotguns do you need in one afternoon?
2002-03-04 02:40:31 PM
The big question is did the *adminstration* inform them about them saving the Executive branch of goverment's ass, leaving the leaving the Judicial and Legislative branches filled with glowing crispness.
Checks and know America. Sure it sucks but it's the best thing the world's come up with so far.
2002-03-04 02:42:33 PM
I think Dick Cheney is really the "Moleman", this guy only comes out on Sunday mornings to bash the Dems on the talk shows. After that he goes back into his hole.
2002-03-04 02:45:49 PM
Anyone ever notice how conservative-biased media are so much more blatant then the liberal media?
2002-03-04 02:47:32 PM
My theory is that THC blocks these mind control lasers... So the GOV wont legalize weed.
2002-03-04 02:53:37 PM
From the Clevland link above:
"...Parts of the plan that the public saw included the movement of congressional leaders to a secure location, and Vice President Cheney's separation from President Bush, Aftergood said. "
Do you think they invited Daschle?
"Okay...Tommy Boy you and the Dems, here's a nice little burnker we're refurbishing in Greenbriar for you"....door slams...throws keys.
2002-03-04 02:54:24 PM
joeyjoe: good research. don't hold your breath on any retraction from newsmax. i can't stand that sniveling daschle, but the newsmax article is just crap.
2002-03-04 02:57:12 PM
Benjamin: Nothing in the articule you posted has anything about Daschle. My problem with NewsMax is that they should be called RhetoricMax. I bet if < insert favorite Conservative political leader > declared Marshall law tomorrow and that everyone had to get a barcode tatooed on their forehead, NewsMax would do an editorial saying that it was the greatest idea that western civilization ever had.
2002-03-04 02:57:45 PM
This is a pretty lame piece of crap. Media bias, in both directions, is pervasive, especially on television. It's quite amusing to come across such a gem as Newsmax, though.

Assume you're being lied to. Do research, and make your own fakring decision. Is this, or any similar crap aimed in the opposite direction, even worthy of your time?

This article is as lame as any of those about "bushisms."

Excuse my paraphrasing: "Tom D is a dumbass, ha ha ha! Let's all laugh at the stupid democrat. Stupid democrat."
2002-03-04 02:59:50 PM
"Anyone ever notice how conservative-biased media are so much more blatant then the liberal media?"

No. Probably because it's not true. While it IS true that conservative media tends to be honest, while Liberal media tends to hide behind a "ooooh, the liberal media is a myth, we'd never, EVER be unfair" smokescreen, I wouldn't say one is more "blatant" than the other.

I would say, however, that the liberals in this particular group are more 'blatant' than the conservatives- like most liberals everywhere, their idea of 'rational debate' is to post a load of profanity and personal invective.
2002-03-04 03:01:36 PM
SNOW: The so-called secret government - you've actually been to the site [since] Sept. 11, right?

DASCHLE: Well, I don't know if that's the site. I mean ...

SNOW: I'm told it is. So now you know.

DASCHELE: But, wait, if I could just explain myself-

SNOW: Shut your stinking liberal commie mouth, you lying little sh*thead.

DASCHELE: (crying)

SNOW: Yeah, let it all out, you sniveling pussy.

DASCHELE: I'm so sorry! You're right-- I suck so much! Wealthy conservative republicans are our only hope! (Kicks self in nuts.)

2002-03-04 03:02:01 PM

Ah, but Java_drinker, are all of the current gun laws being utilized to their fullest extent? Besides which, I seem to remember reading something about

...the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Of course, that's just reading. It doesn't say anything about the right to get a gun in less than 48 hours, no.

I know that is not a popular point of view here but this is the REAL WORLD we live in, take what you can get. I would think that the NRA members would rather see safe-gun laws and less crime, right? Just how many shotguns do you need in one afternoon?
Take what you can get? I think that you're implying more that the NRA should take what they're given. What they're "allowed" to have? Hmmm. No, not terribly popular, and I'd say for good reason.
2002-03-04 03:03:28 PM
fark. Laugh at my spelling. I once won the spelling bee... how low I've sunk...
2002-03-04 03:03:33 PM
Mattix, the phrase you're looking for is "Martial Law", as in "law by military force". On the other hand, "Marshall Law" is the Kung Fu master from the original Tekken video game.

You're equally wrong about NewsMax, but that's another story.
2002-03-04 03:06:15 PM

I would say, however, that the liberals in this particular group are more 'blatant' than the conservatives- like most liberals everywhere, their idea of 'rational debate' is to post a load of profanity and personal invective.

Oh poor, poor, Kidman is being oppressed by those horrible liberals.

2002-03-04 03:06:15 PM
Kidman, you've got to be kidding!!

While I agree that the whe TV media id farked, even you must see that the "right slant" media are much more rabid in their attacks. The "left slant" media tends to omit large parts of the story and show the Republicans as the money-for-infuence swapping, vote buying, minority hating, trglodites they are. But the "right slant" media just comes out and calls the Dems "Evil" and "bad for America". Read this rag NewsMax, they salivate at aany chance to slam Clinton, guess what.... HE'S OUT OF OFFICE YOU MORONS!!
2002-03-04 03:08:42 PM
Meade2001: "$15 billion says that the media never mentions this."

Mentions what? A non-story published by a non-news site known for fibbing itself?
2002-03-04 03:10:53 PM
Man, Kidman, no offense, but please don't go touting NewsMax as a reputable conservative news source. Some of their stuff is straight news, but a lot of it is, shall we say, less than forthright. There are a lot of good conservative sources out there that are even known to be brutally honest about their own - like The Economist, National Review - that I wouldn't want to see lumped in with NewsMax.
2002-03-04 03:12:02 PM
Mattix, the point is that the secure location has been common knowledge since October.

The only reason it's an issue now is that certain folks are trying to make political hay out of it.

And if you read the FOX link someone provided above, you'll also see Daschle admit that Congres has their own contingency plans as well.

2002-03-04 03:12:48 PM
Kidman - Uhhh, sorry to point this out, but you confused "Martial" & "Marshall". Through "Martial Law" the TV show is kind of funny.
