2004-12-26 03:35:04 PM
Maybe the ghost has got to turn the track up so he can sit back and watch the royalties stack up.

Take that!

I grew up in a haunted house. Once when I was 16, the stereo in my room suddenly turned on at full volume. There weren't any records on the thing at the time, but it started playing one(I forget which one it was now.) My dad pounded on my door, screaming at me for something I didn't do.

After that the TV would turn on & off by itself, change channels, etc.

Last week, we revealed barmaids at the Castleview pub in Dundonald, Ayrshire, were having their bums pinched by a ghost. Bosses have now called in paranormal investigators.

Bum pinching? This calls for the big guns.

The newspaper article does, indeed, come from a tabloid on the UK mainland. It isn't however, the Sun.

Close enough. The name even begins with "Sun". :)

I was watching a music show yesterday and an old Take That video from the early nineties came on. It brought tears to my eyes (from laughing).

Remember this BIG STORY? When was the last time you heard anything de-hoaxing this supernatural tripe?

I went to their website and saw their "evidence". It looks like yet another group of "ghosthunters" thinks dust particles reflected in IR light are ghosts.

2004-12-26 08:13:27 PM
JAGUART14, I do not remember that big story. Can you please elaborate? What is that?

I want to hear this story. Hopefully this isn't one of those posts where you're constantly waiting for a reply that never happens.

I get a kick out of Robbie Williams. Probably because his music reminds me of this Scottish girl I used to date that got me listening to him.
His live at Royal Albert Hall DVD is pretty damn good.

I've never understood why Robbie Williams is famous.

He's a dink.

Because he has perfect teeth and Britian wanted a poster boy to dispel the rumours?

I never heard of Robbie Williams but he must be good if he can wake the dead?

I hope if I ever have a ghost, it likes Ace of Base so I can listen to it without having to admit I like it.

robbie got famous sometime after getting himself kicked out of take that for going to glasto with oasis and getting utterly fitshaced and losing a tooth (i seem to remember, long time ago now). then he took his record label to court and released a really horrible cover version of a really awful song (george michael - freedom).. hes shiate.

I knew of a jukebox at Greenham Common circa '87 who's plug would fly out of the wall whenever a Rick Astley song was played!

okay, maybe it's because I'm an American, maybe it's cause I'm getting close to middle age, maybe I listen to a different type of music, but I have no idea who the hell Robbie Williams is.

The only time I ever see the name is in the odd post on fark (like this one). If I have ever heard a song by this guy I certainly didn't know it. I even asked my wife, she likes all those boy band types, N'Sync, 98 Degrees, etc. She had no idea either.

Not trying to attract flames from fans of this guy but, is this guy actually famous or is this another of those times when fark makes someone kinda famous seem much more so?

/genuinely curious

Say what you will about Robbie Williams (and I'm not exactly a fan) but his Rat Pack covers are pretty goddamn good.

Check out Swing While You're Winning...pretty good stuff. And as someone pointed out, the associated DVD is pretty swank too.

Good stuff.

2004-12-27 05:32:42 AM
I'm not a big fan of Robbie Williams, but I did like his swing album.

Jestyr

Robbie Williams is a UK ex boyband member who released a couple of clean boy-bandish songs, then changed his image. He's like the new George Michael pretty much and is most likely just as gay. He's really big in the UK, Australia, and probably parts of Europe and Asia, but I'm not sure on that. Qermaq's weird-ass link has a sample of one of his more popular songs. However, as I stated above, the guy does big band stuff on the side. I have no idea if he's attempted to break into the US market or not.

I guess the reason why he's mentioned a bit on Fark is that he's as well-known to the UK and Australian farkers as Justin Timberlake is to you US farkers, and is just as annoying to us (though I don't personally care too much).
