He then allegedly led police on a brief chase over snowy streets and hit a police car head-on, getting stuck in a ditch. Officers say he was arrested after trying to run away.

Wow. Bad day.

I thought we were harsh about stupid articles. We're positively nice compared to stupid articles that get Greenlit.

Mad Mark

I'd always wondered, too, so I looked it up.

From urbandictionary.com:

Meh --
Indifference; to be used when one simply does not care.
The verbal equivalent of a shrug of the shoulders.
This is a universal, non-commital answer to every question ever posed. Its the answer that deosn't actually give any
answer.
A phrase heard on the Simpsons, often said by Carl when spoken to by Lennie. Showing a total lack of effort in replying, almost non-committal in nature. An alternative to "whatever".

Teh --
Orginally started off as a typo for "the", but recently has changed a bit in meaning. "Teh" still means "the", however, it is mostly used in the same manner that spanish speaking people use the word "El".
Originally just a misspelling from people typing too fast, "teh" has become a word used by net.writers to exemplify people who are ignorant or simply not thinking clearly (perhaps because they're typing too fast).
"I was reading a fundamentalist site the other day, and the writer was all upset about kids listening to rock'n'roll. He believes it's TEH DEVIL MUSIC FROM HELL."

FR;
That is TEH stupidest thing eye have ever herd

Sounds like this guy's even less successful than H.I. McDunnough.

"I'll be taking these Huggies and whatever cash you got.... Better hurry it up. I'm in dutch with the wife."

"Now honey, it ain't armed robbery if the gun ain't loaded."

/obligatory

Thanks for the grammer lesson FarkingReading. That's the meanings I guessed from reading posts, but always wondering where it started. I watch the Simpsons- i'm suprised i've missed that!

whether you want to believe it or not, an integral part of Fark is controversy (see any flame war for reference). it brings people back. crappy headlines (when used sparingly) have the same result. people biatch and whinge and mope, and every time they do, it's another click on the website

yay capitalism, and thank you for your support of it

2004-12-24 04:11:25 PM
Is it just me, or is there a bumper crop of newbies in Farkland as of recent? (referring to regular explanations of teh, meh, moran, even "killing kittens")

2004-12-24 05:14:33 PM
that robber is proof that the gene pool needs a little chlorine once in a while...

2004-12-25 03:43:37 AM
so the point of fark is clever headlines, not the actual articles?

/not new, just pondering
