Worst drinking game ever!

2002-03-02 02:23:00 PM
Bah - I can do that *now* and it's not a simulation.

2002-03-02 02:23:15 PM
Best weed smoking game ever!

2002-03-02 02:23:19 PM
This game has been out for awhile. Its really really really really really really hard to find tho. I don't know why.

2002-03-02 02:23:33 PM
so it comes with a sheet of acid instead of a manual?

2002-03-02 02:24:27 PM
Oh duh...i've heard of rez before. Its nothing like an "acid simulator".

2002-03-02 02:26:34 PM
ps2 is a mouse. I had a serial mouse - now i have a ps2. You can't play games on it.

2002-03-02 02:26:38 PM
I have this game for the Dreamcast. It is farking awesome. And it's nothing like acid at all. But it is like a farking awesome game.

2002-03-02 02:27:05 PM
I can't imagine it could be very accurate. It completely ignores the "head trip"

2002-03-02 02:27:12 PM
how bout doin the acid then playing.

2002-03-02 02:27:17 PM
"While one person is playing Rez the others can watch the visuals and listen to the music."

Especially while high

2002-03-02 02:27:47 PM
I actually saw a review of this while watching TechTV. It looked so awesome that I wanted to buy a PS2 just to get this game, but I couldn't find the damn game.

2002-03-02 02:29:30 PM
Buy it over the net.

2002-03-02 02:30:04 PM
It won't be much longer before they start selling an artificial reality suit like the one Lister used in Red Dwarf. You know, the one with the crotch attachment........

2002-03-02 02:30:10 PM
And they think that flashing lights causing siezures is bad. Jeez, when this game starts making people look like they are on thorazine, the shiat will hit the fan.

I can see it now. 30 years from now, guys working in the Donut Hut with blank looks on their faces - people comment: too many video games - understanding nods from friends.

It's a dark future....
OK Just kidding

"Rez for the Playstation 2 seeks to create a sense of synaesthesia, literally a crossing of the senses, so that you can "see" sounds or "taste" colours. "

Seeing sounds is fine, but "tasting colours" will only happen if you stuff the Dual Shock controller in your mouth.

So by this logic Parappa The Rappa was an acid simulator too? I love it when people who've never done drugs try to describe them.

2002-03-02 02:35:18 PM
Man, I just bought Parappa the Rapper 2 and it doesn't frigging have any sound. All my other games have sound, but parappa has no sound. Whats the friggin point of Parappa with no sound? I mean, farking potatoes. Obviously I have to take it back to the store, but jesus in a sweatsuit...

2002-03-02 02:35:50 PM
I thought this was a literal article about a game where it seems you took acid. I saw this done in Max Payne with a drug the game producers created. They enemies tie you up to a chair and inject this stuff in you and you had to walk around. It was pretty cool, some interesting effects goin on. Did anyone else see this???

2002-03-02 02:37:05 PM
No it won't.

2002-03-02 02:41:53 PM
I think the author went out of business too. If you want this game better chase a copy down quick.

2002-03-02 02:45:02 PM
I think ill save my cash for MGS2, actually...

2002-03-02 02:58:16 PM
You can buy it on ebay

i think ill spend my cash on some of the real stuff instead of on a ps2 :P

Rebrane: I read that they only released this game (in english) in Europe. Do european DC games work on US consoles? What version do you have?

2002-03-02 03:07:21 PM
They already released a game that simulates an acid trip. It was called Super Mario Bros.

It sounds like a good game. Too bad I'm dead otherwise I'd check it out !

2002-03-02 03:16:34 PM
i think i'll have to play this one night after RaViNg To ThE mAx!!

2002-03-02 03:17:37 PM
I'm not a huge fan of console games (I program games on the PC), but this game is awesome. I played the Japanese version which came out a few months ago. Its a very short game, but I haven't seen anything quite like it. Definately rent it if you have a PS2.

2002-03-02 03:22:00 PM
Uh... Rez isn't new. It already came out, and it didn't sell well. They've discontinued it already.

2002-03-02 03:24:08 PM
It didn't really sell, but they didn't discontinue it, that report was bogus

2002-03-02 03:30:58 PM
Crap, what are they trying to push on us.... LOSERS

2002-03-02 03:33:08 PM
Rilos: You can get a boot CD which will run Dreamcast games from any zone. It's vaguely legal. Or maybe not.

2002-03-02 03:34:12 PM
FWIW, I think "it's like being on acid" is about the worst description for this game. It's very engrossing and different from other games, although it seems very simplistic at first. I think I want to stop typing about it and go play it. :)

2002-03-02 03:34:19 PM
Rez was discontinued about a month ago...so if you find it, you're a lucky person. It was a great game, albeit a tad bit short.

2002-03-02 03:40:32 PM
I also have this one for the Dreamcast, and while it's cool, it's not gonna make you flashback or anything. It reminds me alot of the movie 'Lawnmower Man' when the dude was flying around in those virtual environments. (sorta) Decent game, but not amazing.

2002-03-02 03:43:08 PM
Games are for LOSERS

2002-03-02 03:46:02 PM
Walken you would know eh ? :)

2002-03-02 03:49:28 PM
I work part time for a gaming store and there's already a game out that makes you feel farked up when you watch it too long...

Rez

From videogames.com

Rez discontinued?

Sega comments on reports that shipments of its stylized shooter have been cut off.

Earlier this week, numerous reports claimed that Sega had discontinued shipments of its vector-graphics shooter Rez. However, GameSpot has learned that though the initial shipment of Rez was small, the company is ready to fulfill any additional orders from retailers.
"Rez has not been discontinued," a Sega representative said. "While this title shipped in modest quantities compared with blockbuster titles such as NBA 2K2 and Virtua Fighter 4, Sega stands ready to fill the demand from retailers for any of our products."

bwahaha - DigitalDevil didn't read the article. Not even to the second paragraph.

Dude, Rez IS the game they're talking about. Granted it's not new, but still, that was funny.

And speaking of funny, Fishbulb, "jesus in a sweatsuit" is the funniest oath I think I've ever heard.

2002-03-02 04:27:06 PM
Bah... just another Tempest 2000 descendant.

2002-03-02 04:28:52 PM
I'm surprised people are having so much trouble finding this game, the Media Play up the street from my house has literally 10 copies on the shelf (I should know, I bought my copy of it there). It's a farking awesome game too, great music, fun to play. And yeah, it's mezmerizing when you're stoned.

2002-03-02 04:33:00 PM
I remember that game for Nintendo with the squirrel and you could get drunk and piss on stuff. That was closer to a simulator then Rez

2002-03-02 04:57:38 PM
The game Nitrous Oxide for the original playstation aimed for a similar effect. It was probably more fun for me to watch someone play it than it was to actually try to get somewhere in it.

2002-03-02 05:04:03 PM
You can take acid in GTA III.

2002-03-02 05:08:26 PM
I dunno about the dreamcast version, this game really needs use of the PS2's dual shocks to turn your arms into techno-vibe jelly, its fantastic.

Its still nothing like being on acid though.
