Step 1: Let Sox win
Step 2: Sell everthing as memorabilia to Sox fans
Step 3: Profit!
2004-12-21 09:59:37 AM
Does that mean they're selling Rodriguez's hand?

Your hot dog will still cost $12, tho...
2004-12-21 12:10:40 PM

So I guess since the Red Sox farked the Yankees good, then next season none of the Yankee players will have arseholes ?

Or will the Yankees sell their throats, since their choking is all done for now ?

2004-12-21 12:10:54 PM
Umm, that wasn't the World Series, submitter.

watterrockets beat me to it.
2004-12-21 12:16:22 PM
Considering they've already sold their souls, does this come as a surprise to anyone?
2004-12-21 12:19:12 PM
I think the yankees had a fantastic season. They should be proud of the way they pla..........
As a Red Sox fan, I dont give a s**t!!!!
Screw the yankme's
2004-12-21 12:20:12 PM
Blah blah Yankee Yawners. JETS suck.

I wonder how much A-Rod is getting for the Prada purse he usually sports.
2004-12-21 12:21:21 PM
I thought the Sox were too busy winning the World Series in St. Louis to take side trips to Yankee Stadium. Shows ya what I know.
2004-12-21 12:22:31 PM
I think it's great that they're going to auction all this stuff off for charity....

..except they're not.
2004-12-21 12:23:40 PM
What I find really sad are all the poor marks who will buy something they think is collectible, only to realize that it isn't worth jack.

So much for a childhood.
2004-12-21 12:24:58 PM
Lonn Trost, the Yanks' chief operating officer, said the company was formed "to be sure that unsavory characters are not around selling unauthenticated items."

Unauthenticated? They are statium seats, for damnhellfart's sake!
2004-12-21 12:37:40 PM
So they're selling their arseholes??
2004-12-21 12:41:58 PM

say it again

one more time!

Ah.... this pleases me.

After all those years of gloating about how the Red Sox and their fans couldn't handle losing.... now we have the Yankees and their own fans failing to cope in ways that far surpass anything Boston has ever done.
2004-12-21 01:15:56 PM
I'm glad the Yankees have figured out how to scrape some money together. I mean, they're just a poor small market team that can't afford to sign big name players after all.

;bitter Brewers fan.
2004-12-21 01:23:08 PM
Ingenious plan by Darth Steinbrenner. Costanza must have come up with this one.

The have all this crap, gullible Bo-Sox fans will buy it, thereby increasing Big Stein's wealth and emptying out the basement in the process.

If the Sox nation wants to get back at them, they should NOT buy anything, and leave the yankees stuck with all the crap. Maybe they can get it out of the dumpster later.
2004-12-21 01:25:10 PM
go bosox
2004-12-21 01:30:35 PM
Are they saving up to buy a diminutive dominican?
2004-12-21 01:39:52 PM
Why not just tear down the stadium while they're at it?

Suck it up yankees - you choked big time. And nothing you do will ever wash this out of anyone's memory. Too bad...
2004-12-21 01:43:46 PM
Go for it Yankees, this is the beginning of your downward spiral.

You have traded away all your high-level prospects for the likes of Esteban Loaiza (along with a quality starter), Javier Vazquez and Alex Rodriguez, and this is the fourth year that you haven't got squat in return.

The pitching well is running dry. Go get Randy Johnson, someone who is showing his age....he'll be good for a year or two, a band-aid if you will. Is that going to cost you more prospects, George? Bitter you didn't get Pedro?

Good luck Yankees, that sound you hear is your team circling the drain. It'll be one or two more years until you start looking for bidders for A-Rod, and of course have to eat a good portion of his contract that you owe.

The have all this crap, gullible Bo-Sox fans will buy it

Why would a Sox fan want to buy Don Mattingly's pants?

If I had the money, I'd look into buying the autographed home plate. You know, the one where the Sox scored the winning runs in the Greatest Comeback in the History of Team Sports!
2004-12-21 02:00:59 PM
*brilliant* LOL
2004-12-21 02:20:29 PM
Maybe they can auction off their asses....which the Sox handed them!
/teeheeteehee still giddy about the World Champion Red Sox...
2004-12-21 02:49:54 PM
Who will buy all this junk though? Didn't Todd McFarlane go bankrupt?

Idiot Massholes will, thats who. Nice job by the Patriots against the Dolphins by the way!

...I'm going to go off in a corner and mutter to myself, rather then stay and get pwned on Yankee and Giant's insults though... Especially if they're valid in '04.

New York, Next Year!

/go yankees
//go new york football giants
///go on and get the hell out of here yankee fans: They can only gloat for a couple more months before we smack em in the mouf! Don't give them the joy of sticking around this thread!
2004-12-21 02:52:27 PM
skinink's above post made me think of the brilliant Bob Dylan line:

"Here's your throat back, thanks for the loan."

Go Sox!!!
2004-12-21 03:01:02 PM
Maybe the Yankees can also try to sell off pictures of the frontrunner celebrities that were at all the Yankee games except game 7. These are the same celebrities who were Mets fans in the 80s when the Yanks didnt win. Guys like Billy Crystal, Spike Lee, ect.
The Yankees are the frontrunner team of all time. People only love them when they win!
2004-12-21 04:01:50 PM
Except for the ones who don't. Come down to the Bronx right now, and see if there aren't any fans that love the yankees now, after the choke last year. Come on, today is the first day of ticket sales, why don't you come down and see if ANYONE is freezing their balls off for the third place team.

Then look on TV man. Red Sox hats are chic. They're in right now.

There are Yankee fans. There are Red Sox fans. Then there are frontrunner fans, nation wide, who cheer for the frontrunner, or the underdog, regardless. It's not the team, it's the kind of fan.

Thank god we dumped the frontrunner fans who were diluting THE stadium and THE city's team. It was our kryptonite man! Now you guys in Boston are going to have to deal with lame frontrunning Red Sox fans, while the Bronx will be pure again. At least, until next october. We'll take 'em back then.
2004-12-21 04:57:49 PM
Jesus, I really hoped that maybe winning would have the tiny, offsetting positive side effect of getting the Red Sox fans to finally shut up, but I can see I was mistaken.

Honestly, the sheer volume of biatching and whining about the Yankee fans overwhelmes tenfold anything the Yankee fans actually say.

The problem, I think, is that New England really has nothing better to do than obsess about their team. In New York, we frankly have better things to do than biatch and moan about how blah blah stole this and yakkity yakkity curse that.

Also, I hate to break it to the purists, but the point of Professional Baseball is to make money. If you're in it to watch the action, you're probably watching the wrong league. Go find an intra-mural league or other non-pro event, you'll have more fun, sit closer to the action, and be able to afford drinks and a ticket. I mean even in Boston there must be baseball other than the Sox, right?
2004-12-21 06:06:03 PM
I mean even in Boston there must be baseball other than the Sox, right?

Yeah, but it all sucks even worse than the 'Sox do (and that solely because of this past year, or it'd be a tie).
2004-12-21 10:20:01 PM
wonder how they got the team to sign home plate for them??
2004-12-22 09:36:19 AM
I'm from the Seattle area, and they can friggin' keep A-Rod.

MassD: Agreed. What will be fun is watching Yankees fans suffer when the Sox crush them again next season. Then you'll see the denial heavy-hitters in full swing.
