So he's pissed off at not being allowed to do something he's legally not allowed to do... then he paints his house green to get back at... somebody.

... now that is asshatery at it's finest.

/So dense, light bends around him.
2004-12-17 09:50:03 AM
Intense house colors are great, but using interior paints for that it just silly. Most manufacturers now have lines of paint with special colored base formulations that allow for intense colors. Exterior paints are much better able to resist extreme temperature shifts, moisture, and direct sunlight.

Who cares if someone has a semitruck in their driveway. Hell his neighbor's Hummer is just as big, and his Kenworth even costs more. God forbid peole have truckers living in their neighborhood. What's next mechanics? Then the bikers move in.

I would have argued the ban covers large SUVs too. But hey painting your house green probably pisses them off more. Go to it guy.
2004-12-17 10:26:03 AM
If it's against law/code, then it's against law/code. It's not as if they made it illegal after this guy moved in. He should suck it up and move somewhere that his truck's allowed.
2004-12-17 10:39:21 AM
Good for him. The truck can't have been that big an eyesore. And painting his house is legal.
2004-12-17 10:55:16 AM
When I moved to Houston, I parked my pickup and trailer on the lawn for one hour to unload it. I immediately received a letter of complaint and a fine from the homeowner's association. Thou shalt not park vehicles on the lawn!

Some people have nothing better to do...
2004-12-17 11:10:36 AM
Ha. That's farking sweet!

People need to mind their own damn business.

Truly funny.

Anybody that supports this guy live next to a person with a semi?

Anyone able to find a pic of this house? Could be fun.

I was just waiting for that.

How come it seems homeowner's associations are always composed of people with nothing to do but watch everyone else's shizzle? And why is it illegal to park a truck, but it's perfectly legal to light the living heck out of your yard with Xmas crap, including loudspeakers blaring Xmas music all night long and a generator to keep the whole thing going? That's what I get to go home to every night.
2004-12-17 02:01:24 PM
Some homeowner's associations are truly frightening.

stories here
2004-12-17 02:01:50 PM
They better not complain to him about the color.

To retaliate, he might egg his own house, bust out his own windows, or something. That'll show them.
2004-12-17 02:02:24 PM
pic please.
2004-12-17 02:02:41 PM

Actually, if the loudspeakers are blaring all night long, they are probably breaking noise ordinances. Have you called and asked?

And before you call the cops on them, leave them an anonymous, polite letter asking them to turn the music down at night.
2004-12-17 02:02:52 PM
Why is it so hard to get a digital photo for a digital news story? For very visually oriented reporting, visual aids, such as PICTURES, should be published along with the story.
2004-12-17 02:03:05 PM
Seems it'd be a lot easier to put a few toilet flower pots
outside instead.
2004-12-17 02:03:33 PM
OlafTheBent & GoldenAppleCorp,

While his truck was always against code, there were no problems until his neighbors complained. Now he is getting his revenge by giving them something worse to complain about that is not against code.

The code should have provisions for people who are truck drivers and neighbors who are asshats.
2004-12-17 02:06:02 PM
This article NEEDS a photo.
2004-12-17 02:07:16 PM
Now all he needs is 10,000 blinking chrismas lights.

God those blinking lights are annoying.
2004-12-17 02:07:24 PM
Some with skilz could always 'shop a picture of the house...
2004-12-17 02:08:00 PM
He keeps a picture of his truck in his wallet? Does he whack off to it, too?

As far as those crazy associations go, how many people sit inside their homes looking out their windows at other people's homes? Shouldn't they be on their asses watching Wife Swap?
2004-12-17 02:08:17 PM
I'm dying to get one of these.... legally, they are NOT classified as trucks, which allows the driver to use HOV lanes, park in residential streets, and drive it with a regular driver's license.(at least that's what the saleman told me last week) When I test drove it, it nearly caused the Hummer H1 driver in front me a heart attack.

I also wonder if the anti-truck ordinance is broad enough to cover any vehicle over 6,000 lbs.
2004-12-17 02:09:12 PM
Don't exactly think this deserves a "hero" tag. "Cool" possibly, "amusing", but what heroic qualities does this man possess? I'd hardly compare a guy who paints his house an ugly color to a guy who with 17 other men held off 700 soldiers in a frozen forest 60 years ago. Is he a "hero" because he was "stickin' it to the man" and being defiant? Please explain. Enlighten this fark-liter.
2004-12-17 02:09:14 PM
YAY for him!!

I think they're just quiet enough to miss noise violations. Plus, last time we left an anonymous note about a dog barking all night long (we were actually worried about the dog more than the noise) the family immediately gave the dog away and branded us as Huns who forced them to give away their puppy. Then we got animal control called on us. It's easier to just not go outside and turn up music inside.

Wanna bet he parks the whole rig there? If it was bobtail most likely people would ignore. Bet this spaz parks the whole rig.
2004-12-17 02:11:30 PM

There are only two reasons to own a truck like that:

1) You need it for your job.
2) Your penis is an innie.

Which one describes you?
2004-12-17 02:12:20 PM

You're not serious about that, are you?
2004-12-17 02:12:58 PM

I contend that 1) No job would ever need a truck like that, therfore, 2) applies.

2004-12-17 02:13:18 PM
That vehicle is an irresponsible waste of space. Just get a caddilac!
2004-12-17 02:13:21 PM
Hero? Fark the asshat!

If I'm his neighbor, I pour a little Prestone for Fido. (assuming he owns a Fido)
2004-12-17 02:16:35 PM
I saw the house on the local news this morning (I live a few miles away from this town). The house is a run-down 2-story. The lime-green paint is probably the nicest thing about it.

Sorry, I wasn't able to find pics. If I was more bored, I'd drive over there and take a picture of it for you.

toxic_cheeseburger: Now all he needs is 10,000 blinking chrismas lights.

I was thinking black light would be MUCH more irritating in this case.
2004-12-17 02:18:07 PM
HaHA, they only restrict house colors if you run a business out of it:

(10) The home occupation shall be conducted in a manner which would not cause the premises to differ from its residential character either by use of colors, materials, lighting, or the emission of sounds, noises, or vibrations.

Don't worry. He's speaking hypothetically.

Everyone knows dogs aren't allowed in the trailer park.

Hey, my home town. I think I'm going to play with my tiny boner now.
2004-12-17 02:22:44 PM
creamypanda: I'm dying to get one of these....

AH HAHAHAHA I have to have one of these just to piss people off. Holy crap, that is like the SUX6000 or something. You'd have to have JUST the right vanity tag to go with it too. Something classless but irritating. Something like 5MPG, PEAKOIL or PAVIRQ.

Oh, and it has to have a rifle rack. I've never had one yet but this just begs for it.
2004-12-17 02:22:47 PM
See? He painted his roof too. And that little bit at the bottom? He must have missed that.
2004-12-17 02:23:46 PM
Decent, but you forgot to color, or leave uncolored, both chimneys ;)
